Jesus said this:

But you are not to be called rabbi, for you have one teacher, and you are all brethren. Matt 23:8 RSV
So Paul was wrong when he said there were Apostles, prophets, TEACHERS ect.....

oops, I forgot who I was asking.

you didn't answer these questions:

again I ask why do you not preach in front of your church? (notice IN FRONT, not INSIDE)

why do you seek to preach in front of others? (other people churches why don't you do it in front of yours?)

what church do you belong to?

Did they tell you, you were a prophet?

teachers who are third on Christian Chat? What do you mean by "third" on Christian Chat??

A few people do believe I am a prophet. Do you think you have the Holy Spirit more than they do?Do YOU think you have it more than the rest of us?? Why would the Spirit be saying I am not a prophet to you and not to them. It isn't the Holy Spirit that is telling you this, it is your friends who don't understand jack about the prophetic and are all zealous with you. They believe me. Well sure they do. Would they remain your friend if they didn't??

It is the Bible that says you are not a prophet not us, our words are nothing the word of God is everything. Correct

Kayhem: It's dangerous to believe that if you receive the HS YOU HAVE to speak in tongues. It's not a requirement and this could discourage people who already received the HS. It is not a requirement; speaking in tongues is EVIDENCE of being empowered from on high by Holy Spirit. No tongues, no empowerment. Every person that was baptized/empowered by Holy Spirit in the Bible SPOKE IN TONGUES. Deal with it.

Jonathan:My church never heard I was in the mental hospital for claiming to be a prophet and I wasn't there for very long. It wasn't on the news or anything that I know of. So it's not that sort of thing. Seriously? The fact that you were even IN a mental hospital says a lot; either you were way out in la la land with your claims to the point of delusion OR your level of maturity was so low that you side-stepped WISDOM in the portrayal of your claimed office. EITHER WAY, a true prophet, hearing from God, would also receive His wisdom so as to know how to operate in that office. Hos 4:6 and others. You are not a prophet, Jonathan. Is it such a disappointment to simply be His servant? or His brother by the spirit of adoption? or His joint-heir? Is it too lowly to be a member of His body without a title? You are in need of emotional healing, Jonathan.
Do you understand what I am saying? I could say things here that would hit it all right on the head of the nail, but I will not embarrass you that way. There are spirits of pride, rejection and religion that are having a hayday with your emotions. You can be set free. Let me know if you want help.

Do my words make you angry? I don't intend that at all. What I intend is for you to be free and whole. But if they cause any angst in you AT ALL, you have issues that need to be dealt with and we are ALL here to help you.
Maggie

I saw the title and was, "I've been a teacher now for almost twenty years!" ... until I started reading the thread and realized what you meant!

I'm not a bishop or overseer of the Church, though I did go to college to be one.
why do you seek to preach in front of others? (other people churches why don't you do it in front of yours?)
I have preached in front of my church before as a guest speaker, I preached at Bible college in front of people.
what church do you belong to?
Assemblies of God, which has 57-60 million members world wide and is in 212 countries. It is Pentecostal which means we believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues. We are Trinitarian. We believe the Bible is the infalliable Word of God. We believe in baptism in water for people who are saved. We take communion. We believe every born again believer should seek the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
Did they tell you, you were a prophet?
No, God did himself. I prophesy in the Holy Spirit as one who speaks in tongues and interprets, hears from God. I was told by God in a tongues and interpretation that I am a prophet.

ok you still didn't answer the question of STREET preaching outside your church, but anyways

Tongues and Prophecy are TWO completely DIFFERENT things....

Paul said he would rather speak five words of prophecy which makes sense and is understood by all, then hundreds in tongues while in church.
