[h=3]1 Corinthians 13[/h]
1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

What does this verse mean to you? How does it guide you in what/how you post in these forums?

To me it means that if the words I speak aren't out of love or to enhance the well being of another person they are meaningless. If there is no love in my heart I am meaningless.

They sing," love is a many splendor thing", but do not know what the love of Christ is. Christ frees. the love of many weakens people into dependency.
Love without truth is what many seek. And are deceived.
These are socialists and weaken people. Look at Obama, he is creating a welfare state with his love as are many Christians.

This is not really about other people. The pronoun in the verse is "I".

How do you, personally, go about sharing the love of Christ in these forums?

How does this verse lead YOU?

I call for obedience to Yahweh and Yahshua with the little ability Yahweh has given me. We all have different roles and in alot of modern teaching this is spoken evil of but I see no excuse for sin or compromising truth for unity. I am in no way calling my self a prophet but the prophets of old called the people to obedience plain and simple.

Proverbs 27:5-6, "Open rebuke is better than concealed love. Faithful are the wounds from a friend, but the kisses from an enemy are deceitful."

Leviticus 19:17, "17 You shall not hate your neighbor in your heart. Rebuke your brother (or your sister) frankly, so you will not share in his (or her) guilt."

Mattithyah 24:12, "And because iniquity will abound, the love of the many will grow cold."

iniquity is:#0458 ἀνομία anomia {an-om-ee'-ah} from G0459
Greek Word Study (Transliteration-Pronunciation Etymology & Grammar)
1) the condition of without law
1a) because ignorant of it
1b) because of violating it
2) contempt and violation of law, iniquity, wickedness

1 Yahchanan 5:2-3, "By this we know that we love the children of Yahweh: When we love Yahweh by keeping His Laws. For this is the love of Yahweh: That we keep His Law, and His Law is not grievous."

However we are in a time in which:

2 Timothy 4:3-4, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts they will heap to themselves teachers, who will tickle their ears; telling them what they want to hear. And they will turn away their ears from the truth, and will be turned to fables."

Proverbs 10:17, "He who keeps instruction is in the way of life, but he who refuses reproof goes astray."

Proverbs 12:1, "Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge, but he who hates correction is brutish"

Proverbs 15:12, "A scorner has no love for one who would reprove him, so he will not go near the wise."

Proverbs 10:16, "The wages of the righteous is life; but the fruit of wickedness is sin and death."

You can speak really well, and be a great communicator, but if you dont really have care or love for the people your helping, you will appear to them as a stranger some one that they rather not listen to; or they will be confused why you are there to start with.

We need love in the message.

Come you sinners poor and needy,
Weak and wounded, sick and sore,
Jesus ready stands to save you,
Grace requires nothing more,
I will arise and go to Jesus,
He will embrace me in His arms,
In the arms of my dear Savior

I know very well what that means. Jesus loves us first from who we are, before we get those blessings. Believe me that is exactly it worked in my life. He embraces us later. You can hurt people when socialists love the poor.

Some scriptures were misunderstood

I appreciate your posts. Thank you.

As cliché as it may seem, I was taught at a very early age that no one cares how much you know until they know how much you care. When I read scripture, even the parts that pierce me and bring about change in me are welcomed because I know they are only there because of God's love for me, and I am so thankful for them.

Not once has God ever led me to have heated arguments with someone or to try and impress them with my knowledge of the Word as I shared Christ with them and saw them become His. Have you? I have only seen this come about through genuine concern for the condition of that person's soul and in sharing His Word and Truth in love regarding the matter in an applicable way.

Have you ever seen anyone come to Christ though being verbally abused by people they thought to be believers in Christ? Have you ever come across scripture suggesting this?

2 Timothy 4:3-4, "For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts they will heap to themselves teachers, who will tickle their ears; telling them what they want to hear. And they will turn away their ears from the truth, and will be turned to fables."

This time is as difficult as any in history. Yes, people are lost and dying, as they have always been. If we have any compassion at all within us, we absolute MUST share the truth of the gospel BOLDLY and unashamedly; but share it in a spirit of love, not of sarcasm, pride or self-righteousness. Yes, love IS and must be tough at times, but this does not excuse us from showing forth these things: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control, if we are mature followers of the Lord.

John 13:35 "A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35"By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

If we do not speak to one another in genuine love as we discuss the precious things of God and His Word, how then will "all men" who come seeking Truth know us?

Luke 6:[SUP]43 [/SUP]“No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. [SUP]44 [/SUP]Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. [SUP]45 [/SUP]A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

‘A Sounding Brass or a Clashing Cymbal’
Who wants to be just a big noise? “If I . . . do not have love,” says the apostle Paul, “I have become a sounding piece of brass or a clashing cymbal.” (1 Corinthians 13:1) Paul had just emphasized the need for using special gifts received through God’s spirit for the benefit of the whole Christian congregation. If love was lacking, pride and arrogance could cause a Christian to be like a loud, jarring, deafening noise that repelled rather than attracted others.—See 1 Corinthians 12:4-9, 19-26.

Are we socialists or are we followers of Christ?
How do politics enter into sharing the truth of Christ in love?
Are we not to render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, but unto God the things that are God's?

Yes, Sir. Thank you for your post. And we know the dangers of pride and arrogance, don't we?

For the sins of their mouths, for the words of their lips, let them be caught in their pride. Psalm 59:12

Pride only breeds quarrels, but wisdom is found in those who take advice. Proverbs 13:10

Your heart will become proud and you will forget the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 8:14

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 1 Corinthians 13:4

You know what I call a sounding brass, It is people who lack spiritual understanding, they lack knowledge and insights and hate the truth.
Those who have an ounce of resentment haven't made first base yet. when truth appears they attack like vipers.
Christ called men vipers and thieves. Does that sound like love folks? It sure was.

Have a good day folks. TA tA

An 'once' of resentment indeed...........
Yes, it is usually towards someone or something that hurt you and it is hidden anger. it is a sin.
How to overcome it? BE SORRY AND CRY TO GOD TO FORGIVE YOU AND THOSE YOU DISLIKE.
NO OTHER WAY. THERE IS ALOT OF RESENTMENT ON THIS BOARD TOWARDS ANYONE WHO SPEAKS TRUTH.

If the shoe fits, please wear it. I would like to suggest that you listen to your own discord.
You wear sarcasm very well. It is rampant here. No inner truth, just noise.

So are you infact the great and ever beautiful Jullianna?
If so, that makes sense.
If not, it somewhat makes sense in the crater of your own mind, chatterbox.
How much further do you want to go?
