UG,

You are a funny one as well. Did you read the post you quoted from? With the post from Grace777? Speedy enough for you?

Yes very speedy thank you!

Actually it was good to have a second look, very enlightening yes....missed the witchcraft.

A rather slight reference made to witchcraft and not too much on the conspiracy part, but I do tend to agree there may be some conspiracy going on since the Gospel is under constant attack.

I do agree with G777

UG,

Yes I agree that you are indeed of the same belief as Grace777 and that the Gospel is under attack.

Here is a simple question. What is the Gospel to you?

This is the gospel that Paul proclaimed to law-keeping Jews.

Acts 13:38-39 (NASB)
[SUP]38 [/SUP] "Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through Him forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

[SUP]39 [/SUP] and through Him everyone who believes is freed from all things, from which you could not be freed through the Law of Moses.

A perversion of the gospel is when a Judaizer spirit comes in and says to Christians "You must observe the Sabbath day as in the Old Testament or you are sinning and dis-obeying God".

Paul said that he wouldn't stand for this for even one hour "so that' the truth of the gospel would remain with the Galatians.

Galatians 2:5 (NASB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] But we did not yield in subjection to them for even an hour, so that the truth of the gospel would remain with you.

A Judaizer spirit tries to say that the 10 commandments are not a part of the Law but Paul says otherwise.

Coveting is in the 10 unless it was kicked out for getting caught "coveting".

Romans 7:7 (NASB)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] What shall we say then? Is the Law sin? May it never be! On the contrary, I would not have come to know sin except through the Law; for I would not have known about coveting if the Law had not said, "YOU SHALL NOT COVET."

A Judaizing spirit will try to spiritually manipulate people by saying "Don't you believe the word of God? Don't you love Jesus? I'm only giving you the word of God".

This is "code" for - you don't love Jesus nor believe the word of God because you don't agree that Christians are sinning and dis-obeying God because they don't observe the Sabbath from Friday night until Saturday as in the Old Covenant says to do.

It is a form of a work of the flesh called "witchcraft" which is the mixing of things together to get a desired result. We get the word pharmaceuticals and pharmacy from it. I don't fall for this type of behavior.

Paul says to the Galatians of the Judaizers that had come to "bewitch" them with their law-keeping and circumcision.

Galatians 3:1-3 (NASB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP]
You foolish Galatians, who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified?

[SUP]2 [/SUP] This is the only thing I want to find out from you: did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Law, or by hearing with faith?

[SUP]3 [/SUP] Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

Well, I think you already know. But just to be clear there is only one gospel. I will respond shortly.

The gospel is the "good news" of the death, burial and resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:1-4) and is the power of God unto salvation toeveryone who believes.. (Romans 1:16).

To believe the gospel is to trust in the death, burial and resurrection of Christ as the ALL-sufficient means of your salvation.

The gospel is a message of grace to be received through faith. The gospel is not a set of rituals to perform, a code of laws to be obeyed or a check list of good works to accomplish as a prerequisite for salvation.

Grace777,

I love these scriptures from God's Word so I will comment on these. The other parts of your post are just parts of your witchcraft, Judaizing spirit, codes, works of the flesh and conspiracy theories so I won't comment on your name calling this is between you and God (please read Gal 5:22; Eph 5:9-10; Matt 7:16-20).

(Acts 13:38-39) Absolutely! Faith in Jesus is where forgiveness of sins is found and is part of the new covenant God's Law can only reveal sin. It does not save us from sin . But my question is What is the Gospel?

(Gal 2:5) What is the truth of the Gospel?

So you believe (Rom 7:7) Grace777? Absolutely! That is a good start so you believe God's Law brings the knowledge of sin? (Rom 3:20; 1John 3:4). This was also it's purpose in the Old Covenant. So if there is no Law there is no knowledge of sin right? Because sin is the transgression of God's Law (1John 3:4). If there is no knowledge of sin, then we do not know that we are sinners in need of a savior right? If we have no need of a savior then we have no salvation right? So you must agree if we have no salvation we are lost. Can you see how the Law of God is connected to the Cross? It brings us there so we can see Jesus as our personal savior from sin. We see that all our righteousness is as filthy rags and there is nothing that we can do in our own strength to save ourselves (Isa 64:6). Jesus did not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance (Matt 9:13). God's Law brings us to the place where we may say as Paul this is a saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners of whom I am chief (1TIm 1:15). It is only as God reveals to us who we really are... sinners in need of salvation that he holds his hand out to us so that we can hold his hand by Faith in his promises that we have forgiveness of sin. It is in this same place as we have faith in God's Word that God works in us to will and to do of His own good pleasure that he changes us (Phil 2:13; 2Cor 12:10). This is the purpose of God's Law to bring us to Jesus so he can save us from our sins so that we can walk in newness of life and follow Him (Gal 3:24). God changes the heart (Heb 8:10-12) so that we can love him and it is by love that we follow Him and is why Jesus says if you love me keep my commandments (John 14:15)

Galatians 3:1-3 No one is telling anyone to seek salvation by the works of the law. Maybe this is what you do not understand.

The question remains however what is the Gospel? :)

Hi mailmandan,

No one is saying the Gospel is a set of rituals, laws of check lists that we achieve salvation by, especially me. I believe you are on the right track but have you considered these scriptures that were before the death and resurrection of Jesus just after the Baptism of Jesus by John?

Mar 1:15
And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Mar 8:35
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it.

Mat 4:23

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Mat 9:35
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people

Mat 11:5
The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

Mat 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Luk 4:18
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Luk 7:22
Then Jesus answering said unto them, Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached.

Luk 20:1
And it came to pass, that on one of those days, as he taught the people in the temple, and preached the gospel, the chief priests and the scribes came upon him with the elders

Well there is many more of the same. So let me ask the question again.. what is the Gospel?:)

God bless

Paul has this to say about those Judaziers coming in and trying to get Christians to follow the law of Moses which is a different gospel.

A Judaizer that says a Christian is sinning and dis-obeying God if they don't follow the Sabbath as outlined in the Old Testament is preaching "another gospel" and they are distorting the true gospel of the grace of God in Christ.

Galatians 1:6-9 (NASB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;

[SUP]7 [/SUP] which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ.

[SUP]8 [/SUP] But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!

[SUP]9 [/SUP] As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you received, he is to be accursed!

Counterfeit Gospel

I have had lot's of experience with your ways and you will twist the gospel to make it look like Christians need to follow the Sabbath as in the Old Testament which is why many people have refuted you.

I have said before that I am not wasting my time arguing with Judaizers that come in to distort the gospel of the grace of God in Christ by their perversion. I post the scriptures to warn the young Christians from this Judaizing spirit and just leave it in the hands of the Holy Spirit.

Titus 3:9 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and strife and disputes about the Law, for they are unprofitable and worthless.

Christians are not under the Law and have died to the Law and been released from the Law so that they could be joined to another - to Christ Himself. Romans 7:1-7

We will not fall for your false doctrine of Christians are sinning and dis-obeying God by not keeping the Sabbath day as in the Old Testament shadow way - Christ is our true Sabbath rest.

We will not desert our Lord and commit spiritual adultery on our Lord for your Judaizing ways and distortions of the gospel nor will we fall for your spiritual manipulation attempts by saying "Don't you love Jesus? Why don't you believe the word of God".

I am in agreement with all that has been said by Grace 777 and mailmandan this is all I want to add.

The gospel or the good news, is that by repenting (changing your mind) of your dead works (self-effort) and believing that JESUS CHRIST led the perfect life and He alone was able to pay the debt of our sins and be our atonement and propitiation.

Saving faith does not simply affirm that Jesus’ death is “necessary,” it must affirm that His death is enough!

That it is sufficient all by itself to pay for your sins apart from any human effort or good work, and that it is a free gift available only through faith, and apart from any human effort or good work.

Salvation is being declared “not guilty” of all your sins and being assured of eternal life in heaven. We can never be declared guilty again.

Scripture teaches that God withdraws the offer of eternal life from anyone who tries to earn it through their works or keeping of the law because this is degrading God by seeking to make Him a debtor to sinful man.

Let me repeat:

Every time someone speaks about being obedient, doing good works or keeping the law to gain, keep or maintain salvation this is an affront to the gospel of grace which is a free gift because it puts God in our debt.
See Galatians 2:21, 3:10-14, 5:1-4; Romans 4:4-5, 4:14

Our cutting and pasting from the teachings and traditions of men mean little with God. Only God's Word's matter (please see, Acts 5:29). John also says God's Word is important.

JOHN 12:
[SUP]47,[/SUP] And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
[SUP]48,[/SUP] He that rejects me, and receives not my words, hath one that judges him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.

If you do not want to talk about the Gospel, do you know what it means to be "Under the Law"?

Hi UG,

I must say this is the closest by far to answers given of the question "What the Gospel.
" I am just taking the next step in saying that this same faith in God's Word changes who we are (1John 1:9; Heb 8:10-12) and we follow Him because we love him because He first loved us.

The Gospel meaning is literally "Good News" the good news is Jesus! (John 3:16) And Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1-4). The Word of God is the Gospel and we are to live by every Word of it (Matt 4:4) Life come by faith in God's Words! He must increase and I must decrease.

God bless you

I explicitly stated that trying to keep the ten commandments as a way of maintaining salvation is an affront to God's all sufficient work.

Hi UG,

I must say this is the closest by far to answers of to the question as to what the Gospel is from my understanding. I am just taking the next step in saying that this same faith in God's Word changes who we are and we follow Him because He first loved us.

The Gospel meaning is literally "Good News" the good news is Jesus! (John 3:16) And Jesus is the Word of God (John 1:1-4). The Word of God is the Gospel and we are to live by it (Matt 4:4) Life come by faith in God's Words! He must increase and I must decrease.

God bless you
