It looks as though we do agree on some things. :) I'm sure we both agree that bringing every thought under subjection is not an easy task by no means and one that we are incapable of doing without relying on the help of the Holy Spirit to remind of all the precious promises of God that we may now partake of due to Christ's accomplishments on the cross.
Unless we have God 's thoughts through the knowledge and doctrine of God, which will impart to us how God thinks in the details of life, we will not be able to bring every thought in subjection and we will be subject and held captive to our own thoughts. We must be disciplined on a daily basis to fill and feed our soul with the word and doctrine. We must be under a pastor-teacher who will preach and teach the word and doctrine.

We must hide that word in our heart and let it dwell richly in our heart (Ps 119:11, Col 3:16) so that the Holy Spirit can quicken us according to the word that we have received (Ps 119: 25,50,93,107,154). If we lack the word or doctrine in the heart the Spirit is grieved, not being able to quicken us in our thought life with God's thoughts. We must become a habitation of God through the Spirit (Eph 2:20-22) and have the word of God so saturate our soul that we will be able to discern any kind of negative influence from within or without that tries to put us back into bondage even through a single thought.

David said in (Ps 19:130), 'I hate vain thoughts'.

Ps 94:11 The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity.

Ps 10:4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

Ps 40:5 Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done , and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered .

Ps 139:17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

Ps 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Is 55:7-9 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon . 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Is 65:2I have spread out my hands all the day unto a rebellious people, which walketh in a way that was not good, after their own thoughts;

Mt 15:18-20 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. 19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies: 20 These are the things which defile a man:

1Cor 3:19,20 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written , He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. 20 And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick , and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

2Cor 10:4,5 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

A very good point made here Ramon.
Jesus has already won the battle against sin through love, by His sacrifice on the cross.
Ive battled smoking for many ears, Ive let myself be despondant under the conviction of this, afraid
because I cannot beat this addiction.
I constantly looked for ways to overcome this.
Then Jesus showed me He already won this through His love for us, this love that is filled with obedience.
Jesus let me know that He would bring this in me.
I wasnt sure how, but Ive put my trust in His care and healing.
In the last few months, I have found myself setting aside my ciggerette.
Putting it out.
Not because of condemnation, but because of my love for Jesus, for God Our Father.
Im choosing God, over smoking.
Because I love God more than smoking.
I havnt fully quit yet, but I know in Jesus this will be healed, overcome.
Not by a attack, or condemnation.
But through love.
Do not dissmiss the fear of God, because this is wisdom.
But , the love of Jesus, has brought the desire to give up one more ciggarette each day.
Thankyou Lord Jesus, for out of ashes, you brought victory through love.

God bless.

WOW!! Thank you my friend for reminding me of my Lord!!!!!!

I remember now what I learned when the Lord was teaching me about his disdain for sin and such things. You see, I see that many people have great potential in Jesus Christ but there are many things blocking it. WOWOW!! Spiritual forces!!! WOW! This is awesome!!

YES! I was so trapped in addiction but then the Lord gave me a dream. And he gave me the interpretation also. And I saw that the very calling on my life was being held up by that addiction. I SEE IT NOW HOW SATAN DOES IT!! He tries to dwarf our calling with suitable lusts that have a form of our calling.

So, when one has a ministry of love, he combats that with lust. And when someone has a ministry of breathe, he combats that with smoking. (I will explain what I mean by breathe if you would like me too :)) And if someone has a ministry of LOVE he combats that with hate. He is anti-truth. But we should all have that ministry of LOVE. WAIT!! THAT IS IT!! IT IS ALL A MINISTRY OF LOVE, but these specific things combat our specific calling in the ministry of Jesus. TOO MUCH!! LOL!!

OP: Are you attacking pride in yourself or in others? I don't know that you can 'attack' sin. You can DIE to the flesh (pride is flesh); You can CEASE to sin. But if sin is a problem...then you need to see what God's word has to say about it and CHANGE YOUR MIND on the matter...which is to repent.

I understand what you are speaking to here. :)
The greatness of the sacrifice of Jesus is that when one submits to Jesus and recieves His heart.
The sin, or addiction has no more hold, even if the person has not yet been compleatly healed in flesh.
In Jesus, it is already done.
Condemnation no longer holds one chained in flesh.
Recieving the heart of Jesus, opens all doors to His love and power to His glory.:)
In Jesus, God bless.
