Yes all who are baptized in the Holy Spirit do.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe [the gospel]; In my name shall
they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
Mark 16:

2 He [Paul] said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? ...
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them;
and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
Acts 19:

Do not confuse the sign of praying in tongues with the voice gift of
diversity of tongues operated in a Pentecostal worship meeting (along with
interpretation and prophecy).

Different words in the Greek.
You are not teaching the gospel.

99% of the Pentecostals teach correct doctrine concerning the gospel.

So if one has never spoken in tongues they have yet to receive the Holy Spirit?

The Holy Spirit "comes" when we surrender to God and let him work through our lives. But as well as that, when we accept Jesus as Lord over our lives, the Holy Spirit makes his home in our hearts.

Just my beliefs,
Dave
This has been my personal experience, but I do like the idea of a traditional baptism. The way it appears to me is a sort of bonding experience with that aspect of God. Hope I understand it correctly.

Please take some time to read the Acts of the Apostles, chapter 10. You will find that the gift of the Holy Spirit was given to those who believed the Gospel, and only AFTER THAT were they baptized in water by immersion. Indeed they were commanded to be baptized after they had received the Holy Spirit.
Peter remarked how ridiculous it would be for anyone ((Jews, by implication)) to refuse to allow these Gentiles to be baptized with water, seeing that God had obviously approved them.

Who then was he commanding, the Jews or the Gentiles?

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children:
how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit
to them that ask him?

Luke 11:13

Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knew the gift of God, and
who it is that says to thee, Give me to drink; thou would have asked
of him,
and he would have given thee living water.
John 4:10

People are sometimes baptized in the Holy Spirit and speak [pray]
in tongues before they come into the body of Christ and are nurtured.
But this is the exception rather than the rule.

Most people who believe the true or full gospel of salvation get
water baptized by full immersion and then seek to also be baptized
in the Holy Spirit with the Bible evidence of speaking in a new tongue;
a God given spiritual prayer language for empowering a disciple.

(BBE) So it is my desire for you to be clear about this; that no one is able
to say by the Spirit of God that Jesus is cursed; and no one is able to say
that Jesus is Lord, but by the Holy Spirit.

(KJV) Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by
the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that
Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

thanks :)

If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children:
how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit
to them that ask him?

Luke 11:13

this isn't a command to ask the Lord; it's declarative rather than imperative.

compare:

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
(James 1:5)

there's an "
if" ..
we can infer therefore that some do not lack wisdom, and knowing also that '
wisdom is from above' ((James 3:17 -- clearly the type of wisdom which is to be asked for)) we can be certain that God indeed gives even to those who do not ask.

indeed:

I have been inquired of by those who asked not,
I have been found by those who sought Me not,
I have said, 'Behold Me, behold Me,'
Unto a nation not calling in My name.

(Isaiah 65:1, YLT)

how did we first hear Him, look to Him and believe while we were deaf, blind & dead?

Do you have a verse that states that they were saved because they were speaking in tongues?
IS THE SPIRITUAL GIFT OF TONGUES FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST OR FOR LOST UNBELIEVERS?

*1 Corinthians 12:1 - Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I do not want you to be ignorant: 2 You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led. 3 Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. 4 There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. 7 But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: 8 for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, 9 to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, 10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. 11 But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills. 12 For as the body is one and has many members, but all the members of that one body, being many, are one body, so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

Can you show me in the Bible where lost unbelievers were given the spiritual gift of tongues?

The Gentiles hear the gospel unto salvation

44 While Peter yet spoke these words, the Holy Ghost fell on
all them which heard the word.
45 And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as
came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the
gift of the Holy Ghost.

46
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God.
Then answered Peter,
47 Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have
received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord.
Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

we have baptisms 2or 3 times a year. It is a party, people invite their friends (saved and unsaved) and each person getting baptised gives a testimony of how they found christ and gives praise to God, then they get baptised, many people come to christ based on these baptisms, it is amazing when someone gives a testimony, to find out it was a friends testimony at the friends baptism that got him to start looking at God

One gospel one faith one way by God

15 Then he told them, "As you go into all the world,
proclaim the gospel to everyone.
16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever
doesn't believe will be condemned.
17 "These are the signs that will accompany those who believe:
In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
18 they will pick up snakes with their hands; even if they drink any deadly poison
it will not hurt them; and they will place their hands on the sick, and they will recover."
19 So the Lord Jesus, after talking with his disciples, was taken up to heaven
and sat down at the right hand of God.
20 Then his disciples went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord kept
working with them and confirming the message by the signs that accompanied it.
Mark 16: [ISV]

I was an unsaved unbeliever and I believed the gospel that I could read for
myself in the NT.
I prayed heaps to Jesus about this new way that I was not familiar with (being
of Roman Catholic upbringing).
Jesus confirmed the truth and power of the gospel when on Sunday 1st December 1996
I received the indwelling Holy Spirit and spoke forth in tongues; just as Jesus promised.

Furthermore in my Pentecostal church the other signs also are experienced, especially
the laying of hands on people for healing.

And BEFORE they were water baptized (Acts 10:43-47; 11:17).
Peter explains why? The were baptised with the one baptism of eph 4. The baptism of the Holy Spirit, which is he only baptism which saves as it makes us born again, or as paul calls it in tutus 3:5, the washing (baptism) and regeneration (New birth) of the HS.

The washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5) is not a reference to water baptism, but to the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

*There is only ONE baptism that regenerates us and places us into the body of Christ and that is SPIRIT baptism, not water baptism.

Ephesians 4:5 - one Lord, one faith, one baptism.

1 Corinthians 12:13 - For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

Amen and amen, the spiritul circumcision or baptism without hands of col 2. Performed by the one who rose christ from the dead

yeah - they still weren't saved, even after hearing, believing, and God having filled them with the Spirit? having faith in Christ, speaking in tongues, magnifying God, still hell-doomed, unforgiven, unredeemed sinners?

not saved until immersed in H[SUB]2[/SUB]O ?

bad news for a certain thief!
