I have seen it said that Baptism is just a symbol of our faith or following to Jesus. I just want to point out to those questioning it that even Jesus himself was baptized in Matthew 4:13-17. He said to John, ''Let it be so now, it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness''.(NIV) This is necessary for salvation. You must repent and accept Jesus and BE BAPTIZED!!!!!
I hate to disagree with you, because I’m not 100 percent sure, but I think the Lord wants us to love him with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves, nothing more, nothing less. I don’t see how baptism is a necessary requirement for entry into heaven, other than we will all undergo a spiritual process that can be symbolized (there is that word) by baptism.

To me it seems I have to do as my conscience demands me do. If I do not what my conscience is weighing on me to do I feel bad. I feel a sinking feeling in my stomach. I feel a grating recurring thought in my mind over the thing I am in doubt of to do or not to do.
Nothing will settle my conscience except letting to have its way.

I have found when in doubt of something, like should I do or not do, I have to let my conscience be my guide.
Just give it its way.
It has never failed to be right.
My choices have failed to be right. Even my own impressions has failed to be right .

My conscience is better than my own intelligence. Because it has been right ever time 100% A+.
I always hated to have to just make a guess on an test answer.
My conscience never gives me an option of a guess, it demands me to be answered.

My conscience never rears its authority except when I know of a thing but try not to know it. Or know it but dissociate it as applying to me or relevant to me. Sometimes it will come after me when I try to reason why I have the right not to fool with something I am being urged to do. It just is not worth it to even attempt to get out of the conscience thing.

No I would rather let it have its way it seems to know best and is right every time.
So I follow my conscience that is what it is in my head and heart for.

Anything that requires a decision to do or not do in my mind, I am held by it and accountable to it. To react to it one way or another.
This seems never to occur except when I am not sure I want to. Yet my wants are not my guide or lead.
Even to do what I want not to do is more rewarding than to refuse to do a thing I wanted not to do.

So make sure your self in the Word and in prayer even of the Word you are in doubt of. Take it up with the Lord. Ask Him.

There is only one baptism required to be saved, and its not getting dunked in water, yes water baptism is what a saved and cleansed person through repentance WILL do, but in no way does it remove sins, Jesus does, as His blood is for the remissions of sins, but we have our part to do in this matter:

For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death. For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter. 2Cor7:10-11

What Exactly did this Repentance Produce and HOW did it WORK?

It Produced:
1)Diligence and Zeal in the People Repenting
2)A Clearing of the Wrong Doing
3)Godly Fear and Reverence
4)Vehement Desire, with Zeal to DO what was Right!

It PROVED Them to be CLEAR in all things concerning the matter!

Thus the Biblical PROCESS of True Repentance! THE CLEANING Happens HERE, Not Afterward!
Note the Following Words:

Clearing: Apologia (Eng., "apology"), "a defense against an accusation," signifies, in 2 Cor. 7:11, a clearing of oneself.

Clear: pure, pure from carnality, chaste, modest, pure from every fault, immaculate, clean. Translated Pure in other passages.

The Pastors are WRONG! The Clean up DOES NOT Happen later, as they have all stated, but in the PROCESS of Repentance. In Fact, This is where the PURITY of Heart is derived the Bible Speaks of in Many Passages as the PURPOSE of the Commandment. (1Tim1:5)

If the Wrong Doing is made PURE, as this Passage Proven, by Repentance, then the Old man must ALSO be IMMEDIATELY Put to Death during this Process. WHICH Scripture also PROVES in Rom 6:4-6

The BAPTISM of DEATH or BAPTISM of Repentance! Rom6:6.
Rom 6:6 knowing this, that our old man is crucified with
Him
in order that the body of sin might be destroyed, that from now on we should not serve sin.
INDEED, ‘IAM Crucified with Christ’ is shown to have been Completed in the Past, ONCE and for all, NOT to be Repeated! THAT is the CORRECT Translation of this Passage. It is NOT a Gradual Process that happens over time and has NOTHING to do with Sanctification. The old man DIES in Repentance, so the New man can be BORN into the Kingdom and Taught as a Babe the Ways of God with a NEW HEART made PURE in Love! courtesy standingthegap.org

One must follow Christ for their Godly sorrow that leadeth to thine repentance, and, this is done NOT legalistically in act in one way--all at once as you claim must be 'crucified' done or in stages as others claim, like Peter--but in His way as He leadeth you in His great time. There is NO perfect time for one's baptism, except when God leads you to it. The Lord leads. 'YOU Follow Me, T4C.' :) John 21:22. NOW, granted, this verse speaks of Peter's answer, envious answer, to John allowed to stay alive, 'If I will that he remains...., what is that to you, you follow Me." Jesus is clear that we are in a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with Him, Christ peeps....
If there is ONE THING above everything else I could get YOU to understand it is this: God's plans for YOUR life are uniquely ALL you :) And this goes for HOW you will one day die, maybe it is as Peter who died a martyr's death (head cut off) or not, like John, who, as far as all know was the ONLY apostle not to die as a martyr (died peacefully in Ephesus). Get this through your hear, please, the Holy Spirit not only teaches us all Truth but also LEADS us to ALL Truth as we FAITH-FULLY walk with Him, in Him, abiding in Him, living our life with and in Him, who soo personally individually leads on our journies to our death, that, immediately, IS then gain ....

And, our salvation is NO different, we are to walk His walk for it, and, surely baptism is part of 'it,' as feed swallowingly points out. Gulp in God's goodness that is CHANNELED for you uniquely, personally, to challenge you to understand His rudiments way to TRUE SALVATION, which includes doing 3:21 of Peter and EVERYTHING else as He Spiritedly leads you to FULL understanding as YOU can drink it in in, of His Spirit, and, of His Truth.

Again, baptism is part of God's plan for salvation but do it ONLY when this outward display of faith is right timing from Him for you.

How will I know when 'it' is right, green? You will know. Pray, listen, go. :)

All she did was repeat a scripture:

Acts 2:37-38 "men and brethren what shall we do? REPENT AND BE BAPTIZED everyone of you in the name of Jesus for the remission of your sins..."
