There is still necessary things we do and unnecessary. Farmers using plows to move cows because its easier, or KFC farms breaking the legs and beaks of chickens, or stuffing them into cages where they are literally piled on top of each other is nothing but cruel.

God told us we can hunt and eat. He never said we could cause needless harm for efficiency and better profits.
my kids said our cat was on the naughty list this Christmas. poor puffer.
That cat must repent.

Sorry I didn't mean to rebuke you or anything I was just saying, and I agree. I hate it when I hear reports of people working with live exports kicking, throwing and treating sheep and animals like that. There's nothing wrong with killing to eat flesh, its the respect and loving side of it that needs to be realised and fulfilled.

Yes I seen a report were they used air pressured hammers on cows, they busted them in the head with it and the cow laid there and kicked a few minutes before dying. That is just terrible, and cruel.
Then yes the chicken farms like Tyson's chicken, I almost worked at one of their plants tell I saw how nasty it was....

Why would one be unkind to ANY animal? Especially a pet.

I've always thought they were a gift from God - unconditional love wrapped in fur.

It really is amazing that God has given us animals whose sole purpose is to be our friends :3
I think about that when I sit with my cat, the cat sits and purs when I pet her, and is excited to see me when I come home. Dogs love us so much that they put their lives at risk in order to protect us. It is amazing when you think about the gifts He gives us with animals.

If you have an animal that provides you with work, food or even companionship, Im totally sure God would want you to return the favor by providing their needs and keeping them safe.

I see why some people with deep hurts can turn to their pets and love them so much but struggle to do that with people. Because animals don't judge us, their impartial. Not saying its right for a person to do this but just an observation.

We need to care for animals and have no reason to be cruel, but having had horses, I know we also have dominion over the earth and that would include animals. Sometimes an animal needs a quick slap. They are capable of harm if they do not know you are in control. Just like with children, always better to deal with an issue without a slap but there is certainly a difference between a swat and harming them.

GOD loves HIS animals!

Pro 12:10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
Exo 23:4 If thou meet thine enemy's ox or his ass going astray, thou shalt surely bring it back to him again.
Exo 23:12 Six days thou shalt do thy work, and on the seventh day thou shalt rest: that thine ox and thine ass may rest, and the son of thy handmaid, and the stranger, may be refreshed.
Finally, total agreement.

I am a dog lover. I don't have a dog, he has me. He lives in a very nice house and has two servants (my wife and I) that cater to his every whim.

If someone doesn't like dogs, watch out!

If dogs don't like someone then really watch out.

Hear hear :)

(I know it is out of context... but I still think it applies):

7“But ask the animals, and they will teach you,
or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you;
8or speak to the earth, and it will teach you,
or let the fish in the sea inform you.
9Which of all these does not know
that the hand of the Lord has done this?
10In his hand is the life of every creature
and the breath of all mankind.

Easy victims who have little to no rights and cannot testify in a court of law.

Can you get any lower than being cruel to an animal? Hard to say yes.

This is a real test for me, I catch myself thinking that I would like to give animal abusers an overdose of their own medicine.

My Brother, I cannot be held responsible for my actions if I ever turned the corner and witnessed someone abusing an animal. God have mercy on my soul if that ever happens.

God ordered animals killed via sacrifice, is that considered cruelty? God killed all animals (saved a few) with Noah's flood, is that cruel? When the Israelites destroyed Canaanite cities, God often order all the animals in the cities to be killed. Does that make God wicked? Assuming animals are innocent, and aren't killed for food, was it righteous for God to kill them?

Imo, animals suffer because of man, whom God gave dominion over every creature. Death came to man through sin, and every living thing dies because of it.
