Many times throughout scripture analogies from nature are drawn to paint the imagery parallel to the growth and development of a man or woman's life. We live in a society where results and actions are expected almost immediately. It is my observation that God looks at things much differently. He is very patient with man and is continuously helping us to learn from our experiences. When it comes to plant life bearing fruit, conditions for that tree must have certain nutrients, water and ample sunshine. In order for that tree to become strong and fruitful for many years to come it must be manicured and tended and the right conditions from the earth factor into its health. The primary factor I want to emphasize is that it takes time. Every believer wants to be fruitful before God and it is a noble pursuit. My dear friends development and wisdom that is lasting in relationships takes time and as we progress before our Wonderful King we will bear fruit that will last. The word maturity is indicative of time elapsed. Just as a tree takes time to bear its seed or fruit so it is with humans. We have a very loving husbandman(caretaker) of our garden(our life)that provides us with all the essential conditions for growth. If you are feeling that you are not as fruitful as you should be take time before our Gardener and don't beat yourself up for past failures. The right conditions are before you and have patience just as He is patient and you will discover that bearing fruit cannot be forced but is born through time in His turf.

What a wonderful thread! I think the key to bearing fruit is in the word. The words the bible gives us have tremendous power. We have only to check the words in our mind with those of the bible, and follow the words in the bible. When our life and thoughts are in sync with God thoughts, we bear fruit.

Prayer that bears fruit is like that. The word gives us how to pray. I heard of one guy who took his arthritus to the Lord for healing. For half an hour each day he repeated over and over that Lord, I have arthritus. There was no fruit. If we follow prayer as the word explains it to us, there is fruit.

Great word on fruit. :)
I love to garden, and it does take time for many things to bare fruit.
I find it interesting how most plants take three years before they bare fruit.
Sometimes a plant may have a rough start, I had one plant that when first planted our dog kept digging it up.
I would plant it again everytime, but began to wonder if it would ever grow.
Eventually our dog passed, so that poor plant finally was able to grow.
The amazing thing was? When it did grow it was so full and filled with it's fruit, that it was overflowing.
It caused me to consider those in Jesus, who have so many struggles or difficulties, but ther roots, because of the struggle, go deep and are resistant to any destructive power.
Sometimes that plant looks different from others because of its struggle, in knareled trunks and winding branches, but the plant is far more beautiful for its struggle and often bares the richer fruit.
Much like many who have come through adversity.

How good is our God, that in word, He gave us such a rich example to look to, and the first place He put man, was in His garden!

God bless

PS, our dog had a long good life, he was 18 yrs when he passed. He was loved and loved also. :)
