“Behold, I am coming as a thief. Blessed is he who watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked and they see his shame.”

In normal English language usage these days, the term blessed is a little different from what the Bible means in my opinion. For example, a person might get a good grade in class and people say they are blessed to get a good grade. Or they might say they are blessed to have good weather on an outing, or blessed to be able to see the concert and so forth. These are nice thoughts because they convey gratefulness to God, usually for something seemingly good that happened. However, the Bible, instead, tends to use the term blessed to describe those who have salvation. That is why the Bible says that "Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.". It also gives us a little interesting insight into Ishmael: "And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation." Certainly, Isaac is blessed, but who knew Ishmael was as well. This is one of the reasons I don't subscribe to the very popular notion that Ishmael was a picture of those of Islamic religion, which is something often attributed to Ishmael. Anyhow, the notion that the term blessed in the Bible gives us lots of descriptions of those who are saved is something I believe.

"How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, "Your God reigns!"

acts 3:25-26 " Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. 26Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

2
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

3
Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;

4
Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Genesis 17

18 And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!

19 And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Blessed are all who Honor and Obey, and Submit to their Holy Precious-Saviour...
AMEN!

1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified [it] by his angel unto his servant John:

2 Who bare record of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.

Blessed is he that reads, and they that hear the words of this prophecy,and keep those things which are written therein:for the time is at hand. (Revelation 1:3)

4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace [be] unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;

5 And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,

6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him [be] glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

7 Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.

8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.

Psalms 32:1-2
(1)
A Psalm of David, Maschil. Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.
(2) Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputes not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

Blessed is the most high God who made heaven and earth, and loved us in giving us his son and his word. Blessed be God!

Psalms 40:4-5
(4)
Blessed is that man that makes the LORD his trust, and respects not the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
(5) Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.

I delight to do your will O my God, your law you have written in my heart. Let God be exalted in the heights!

Titus 2

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men,

12 teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age,

13 looking for the BLESSED hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ,

14 who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself [His] own special people, zealous for good works.

Gen 28:1-4
(1) And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.
(2) Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughters of Laban thy mother's brother.
(3) And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou may be a multitude of people;
(4) And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou may inherit the land wherein you are a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham.
