I noticed that even in their catechism they removed the prohibition of bowing down to images.

Because they see it as prayer and seeing beyond the temple.

So they haven't removed it but changed its viewpoint.

The temple calls you to prayer

Welcome to CC, Jackie…
What you presented is only one of many reasons why I (among many) no longer consider Roman Catholicism ‘Christian’.
i never have considered catholics as Christians. with so many diffs, you can not consciously use the same name. if catholics are Christians why do they attend catholic churches, say the hail mary, confess their sins to a priest & it goes on & on.

maybe thats because you've never lived in a country devided by catholics and protestant, and only witnessed the the dogmas from certains individuals, añd only read about certain individuals with in Catholicism who well let's just say haven't behaved very well.

But besides that myself I have met some catholics very devoted to Christ and found them to be good men of honor in everyway.

I do consider Catholic members Christians. In the beginning of the Roman Catholic church that was founded somewhere between 300 to 600 AD (debatable), members were forced to follow Catholic doctrine and the Holy Bible was not printed yet. When technology made mass printing available in various languages, the Catholic members were banned from reading it by the Vatican. Since that time, an estimated 55 million people worldwide were executed in the name of Catholicism. The Bible readers were deemed heretics by the Roman Catholic church, punishable by death.

  1. I am the Lord your God: you shall not have strange gods before me.
  2. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
  3. Remember to keep holy the Lord's Day.
  4. Honor your father and your mother.
  5. You shall not kill.
  6. You shall not commit adultery.
  7. You shall not steal.
  8. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
  9. You shall not covet your neighbor's wife.
  10. You shall not covet your neighbor's goods.
Notice the difference? The 4th Commandment is omitted referring to graven images and the 10 Commandment is split in two, making the Catholic 9th & 10th Commandment.
Yes true and they add the 7 commandments of the church;

The Seven Commandments of the Church

1. The feasts you will sanctify,
Who are you in command.
2. Sunday Mass will hear,
And the holidays alike.
3. All your sins will confess,
At least once a year.
4. Your Creator you will receive,
At least at Easter humbly.
5. Four-stroke vigils will fast,
And Lent entirely.
6. Friday flesh shall not eat,
Nor days defended equally.
7. Rights and tithes thou shalt pay,
To the Church faithfully.

I found a 1610 edition of the Douay-Rheims Bible and it has it. This link should go right to it, but if it doesn't it's on p. 215.

https://archive.org/details/1610A.d...A.d.RheimsNewTestament_176/page/n214/mode/1up

I've heard this a lot but never have been able to locate a primary source. When you look up Catholic answers to it they just dodge and start talking about how Catholics don't worship graven images.
yes the catholic bibles in french now have the full 10 commandments but in the early 1950's and before where i lived in the province of Quebec, they had this book called cathechese that church members were asked to read from, then the bible was off limits to the ordinary man, who could not read Latin, the only bibles available then. after the 50's things began to change and people had access to bible in french, what happened then is that the clergy lost all powers, people were fed up of the lies and political power of the catholic church, today the churches are almost all empty.

Roman Catholicism is the largest sect of Christianity.

It's just not all Christian are catholics

Like not all Christians are protestants.

Or not all Christians are SDA

Or Not Christians are latter day saints.

Or not all Christians are believers of the Trinitarian doctrine of God being 3 persons.

Which ever way you Go none denominational Christians really are denominational, for the main part, its a branch of the protestant faith which stems from Anglicism pentecostalism Lutheranism, which are branches that emerged from Roman Catholicism.

The lord said there will come a day when many will abandon there faith and there love will grow cold.

The lord also tells us many people will say thank God I'm not like that man.
Are you inferring that Mormons are considered even remotely Christian?

What is your source for this list? When you say "Catholic 10-commandments," to what are you referring. Is there an official Catholic website where the list is posted? Is it from the Vulgate? What?
it’s in the catholic version of the Bible…..

Here are the Ten Commandments in the Catholic Douay-Rheims Bible and they correspond to what is in the Protestant bibles. This is the official Catholic Bible based upon the Latin Vulgate of Jerome:

I 1 And the Lord spoke all these words: 2 I am the Lord thy God, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 Thou shalt not have strange gods before me.

II 4 Thou shalt not make to thyself a graven thing, nor the likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or in the earth beneath, nor of those things that are in the waters under the earth. 5 Thou shalt not adore them, nor serve them: I am the Lord thy God, mighty, jealous, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me: 6 And shewing mercy unto thousands to them that love me, and keep my commandments.

III 7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that shall take the name of the Lord his God in vain.

IV 8 Remember that thou keep holy the sabbath day. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and shalt do all thy works. 10 But on the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: thou shalt do no work on it, thou nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy beast, nor the stranger that is within thy gates. 11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and the sea, and all things that are in them, and rested on the seventh day: therefore the Lord blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it.

V 12 Honour thy father and thy mother, that thou mayest be longlived upon the land which the Lord thy God will give thee.

VI 13 Thou shalt not kill.

VII 14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.

VIII 15 Thou shalt not steal.

IX 16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.

X 17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house: neither shalt thou desire his wife, nor his servant, nor his handmaid, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is his.

Should there be a "not" in your first sentence? The rest of your post suggests so.

don't know but I had à Jehovah witness who claimed Mormons are called latter day saints

Then the same Jehovah witness said none denominational Christians will argue that there faith is not about there only being 66 books in the bible.

When actualy it is.

There faith is based on hearing the word

I heard none denominational Christians have the right to exercise faith according to the times too, meaning they can pretty much do what they want or set up anywhere with anybody

Most Lutherans refer to a set of commandments in which the 1st (no other gods before God) and 2nd (no making of carved images to bow down to and worship) are combined into one. The other eight are left as they are. So it ends up being 9 commandments instead of 10. Therefore:

1. No other gods (physical idols or otherwise) before God
2. No taking of the Name of the Lord in vain
3. Keeping the Sabbath holy
4. Honoring father and mother
5. No murder
6. No adultery
7. No stealing
8. No bearing false witness
9. No coveting

That's what comes from using catechisms and confessions.
