Hi loveme1, your devotion to scripture a alone indeed is good . At the same time, why limit God? He is able to speak scriptural truths through his own. As long as they are not in anyway opposed to God's Word, there is no harm, it can actually be edifying. A.W. By the Grace of God I limit not but a w tozer is a man that wrote many books and I question the need.
GOD gave us Scripture and I question the intentions of those compelled to write and sell books....
Now if you read the op again you will see that most are reworking what the Bible teaches..
The Holy Spirit is reliable and sufficient.
That said each can exercise freewill but I'm giving my 2 cents openly knowing that the deceiver could be at work in doctrines of men. After all we are not to add or take away... but writing a book with subtle deception is a device used often.
As long as we listen to what Christ tells us of His and our Father then we listen to all scripture.
