I have on several occasions heard the expression, "You don't want to miss out on heaven by 18 inches." When I hear that expression, I can't help but infer from it that we have to have works to get into heaven, but I know that is not the case -- we are saved by faith alone through grace. But that isn't really the topic of this post. In this post, I would like to talk about a place not many Christians like to talk about: Hell. There have recently been some discussion board posts which posed questions like, "Is hell literal fire torment" and "Is hell a literal physical place, or is it a non-physical, spiritual place?" While these are great questions, the question I am about to ask is perhaps not quite as simple to answer. I have often heard it said, "God doesn't send anyone to hell; people choose to go to hell." So is it true? Do People Really Choose Hell Over Heaven, or does God or Satan send hem there? I am certainly not without my own opinion, but, as always, I am interested in hearing what you have to say.

First off satan doesn't have power to send anyone to hell he can only deceive us from not accepting christ, what do you think the fear of god? he has the power to decide our faith, he is the only one that judge us where we will end up and people do choose hell over heaven because pleasing the flesh is wonderful and they don't know any better or what they are doing

Jesus said if we do not believe we are already condemned. Yes we choose hell, and quite happy to do so.. but ultimately God will send you there..if you are not his child.

Well, there are scripture for this.

The scripture read, people will by their actions chose what their fate is .

There is always a choice presented, and then the action on the part of the person: bad or good.

Consider that the lake of fire , does not come into existence until after, the Great White Throne Judgement ( Revelation 20:11-15 )

The fact that this takes place, at the very end of the Lords day, after Christ has been here disiplining people for a thousand years; showing the truth in person; that leads me to believe it is giving people more then a good chance and choice to chose where they want to go, by their actions, their choice.

But God is the only one, that can literally destroy kill, the soul in the lake of fire, seeing Satan is tossed in there also, at the very end of all things .

( Matthew 10:28 ; 2 Peter 3:9 ; Ezekiel 28: 18 ; Revelation 20:11-15 ; Ezekiel 18 )
