Romans 12:

9 Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;

Yes there is such thing as a hypocritical Christian and i only know because I know me. Do you know how many times I tell people to believe what God says about them and believe what he sees when he looks at them and yet when i look at myself I myself cannot take my own advice? Or how often i warn others of allowing their emotions to control them and yet here are plenty of times when I do the very same thing? Or how often I give correction to others on here to be still as waters and to respond in a loving mature manner yet there are plenty of times when I myself am lacking in this area?I am in fact a major hypocrite.
Hi Blain,

No, you’re not a hypocrite. The hypocrite is like the Pharisee.

Someone who oops and acts hypocritically, doesn’t qualify as a hypocrite. It’s the one that lives the sin. He owns it, he lives and dies as a hypocrite. It permeates every aspect of his life.

So, no you are not a hypocrite. If you act like a hypocrite then you messed up and need to confess your sin.

Wouldn’t it be great if we all confessed our sins to one another so that we would be healed. Asking for forgiveness is a sign of humility and love for one another

So if anyone knows of a time that I sinned against them with harsh words or a wrong judgment, please forgive me and if there is something between us that prevents fellowship, let’s PM and set things right as God would have us do.

God bless us all with abundant grace that leads to walking in His truth!

At times, it can seem like, "Christian or not Christian, people are still people!"

I absolutely do not visit this site, and I would strongly advise anyone from visiting it as well. But there is a site called 4chan, and its basically just a site where anything goes, any kind of lewd pornographic images or jokes or stories of tormenting people online or plans to torment people online. I have never been a member of the site, but I knew people who were, including one of my brothers.

That site was once divided over something completely stupid, whos been there longer. That was a major fight on the site that caused division and broke up the site.

Even on sites that are absolute nonsense, where nothing is taken seriously, people get into major fights and divide up against each other.

Im not justifying it, but I think that it is best to let it go once you leave the thread, and not to carry it around with you : p

I drove a truck one time, I often saw what are called CB tough guys in the truck stops..Big mouthing, and threatening and all sorts of other stupid behaviors. Until one driver, who had a hand held radio kept one CB bully busy talking, he was walking around the parking lot looking for that bully. When he found him, he shot him...Put a stop to the bullying. I think that's what we have on these forums...Internet bullies. I'm not going to shoot you though. LOL

I believe myself to be a hypocrite in the sense that I often times don't take my own advice, however a judgemental hypocrite is another story entirely, such a person is blind to the fact they are hypocrites and see darkness in everyone and everything except their own souls and cannot be reasoned with, sadly there are plenty such people under the title Christian.

I have only been a Christian for about five years and in this short time I have seen one major factor that saddens me and that is many of us who claim the title Christian do not know what love is or what it really means to be a Christian we are Christian by title only.

For example last night I was talking my step brother and his wife they have been major drug addicts and have been in a life of massive sin and strayed away from God but they are wanting to come back to God and are joining my church. Last night the three of us got talking about God and the bible they were wanting advice and help, now when I talk about God I don't just talk about him I get super excited and super into it you can easily see my passion and fire for God.

Chris and mandy my step brother and his wife were constantly telling me how amazed they were at my words would constantly be saying how wise I am beyond years and how my humbleness and love would just overflow and I am not good at taking compliments so I honestly just awkwardly said ya I guess but one thing they said that really struck me was that they said they have met many Christians but I am the only one they have met that was like me. They never knew anyone with such passion and love for God and never met anyone who shined his heart so vastly.

This actually made me very sad because it only furthered the evidence that love has indeed waxed cold and that we have lost our way as Christians and have forgotten what being a Christian really means.

Yes brother, but love is rebuke also ,TIMOTHY;5;20; Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.Verse 25. Some men's sins are open beforehand, going before the judgment, and some men they follow after. If the truth of God's word is not preached, there will be no fear in the evildoer's heart for room for repentance. It's that tow-edged sword. cutting both ways. I preach and teach without fear, because Ifear no man, only God do I fear.

Why are we shocked when we see actions of the flesh exhibited in the life of a believer? Flesh is flesh. Recognize it for what it is and move on.

My flesh is no better or worse than your flesh, or the flesh of any other believer. We cannot take it personally when a brother or sister behaves according to his/her flesh. Instead, pray for that person (and yourself) and ask God to work in his/her/your heart so that he/she/you walks according to who he/she/you is(are) in Christ.

When we have discussions in this forum, we we must remember that are discussing matters which are very dear to our hearts. We must take into consideration that the only thing we are charged with is holding forth the Word of God in a loving and respectful manner. We do not have to make another person believe. That is God's job. It is God Who works in the heart of the hearer to increase His Word within the heart of the hearer. And sometimes we need to hear the Word of God over and over and over before we finally get it and it takes root in our heart to bring increase.

What we cannot do is respond in an unChristianlike manner when a brother or sister behaves in a manner which is not according to Christ. We cannot allow the behavior of others to to draw us away from walking in the Spirit. That is what happens ... we read a post submitted by a brother/sister who is walking according to the flesh. This then inflames our flesh and we allow ourselves to be drawn away back into the flesh.

Rather than allow ourselves to be drawn out, recognize the fleshly response for what it is, pray for the believer who posted it, and move on, firmly rooted and steadfast in Christ. As Head of the Body, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is more than capable of working within all members of His Body.

He can work within us to help us if/when we are being attacked by a brother or sister who is walking according to the flesh.

And He can work within the brother or sister who is walking according to the flesh to bring that believer back to walking according to the Spirit.

Prayer is the most powerful and underutilized tool in our spiritual warfare. Use it liberally.

From a thread I started a week ago

***** asked about admitting wrong to yourself vs admitting it to others -that's a good point. If you do not admit it to someone whom you have knowingly wronged, does that matter? Or is just knowing it yourself enough?

Do you think admitting wrong equates to making a confession? Is there a cleansing power in admitting wrong?

******* said If people didn't believe in what they were saying... they wouldn't say it. That's very true and kinda what led me here. It seems most everybody here is here to tell others something. They have something they believe is right, and thus anyone and everyone presenting a different story is wrong and needs to be set straight. There's hardly a soul in these threads who doesn't believe they aren't 1,000% right. They have no interest in even entertaining the other side's argument. And in lacking so, they have placed themselves in a position where they would never accept and admit that they were wrong. Even tho there's a 50% chance that they are eventually going to be proven so.

And I think this has a part to play in all the infighting here. People are more likely to vigorously defend their positions than to accept that there is even the slightest chance they could be wrong. Since they can't be wrong any suggestion otherwise appears personal and reaps a personal response. And thus we end up with brother vs brother, wielding their Swords against each other instead of at the enemy. And the enemy just laughs.

Please, no matter how convinced you are that you are right, save just 10% of doubt that maybe you're not actually that perfect. You can be assured and still have respect for your brother's assurance. People who respect at least that much don't take swings at each other. And there's far too much swinging at each other going on here.

If people didn't believe in what they were saying... they wouldn't say it.

Because to do so requires them to accept the possibility that they could be wrong.

11TIM. 3:16-17.

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction,
for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Did the title get your attention? Good! I've noticed that when Christians get together to discuss the Word, very little Word actually gets discussed. Instead, if somebody disagrees with you they are wrong! They are heritics, blasphemers, they are anathema. Then they are accused of pushing some kind of 'Ism" Catholicism, Protestantism; Episcopalianism, Lutheranism, Methodism, Presbyterianism; Mormonism, Seventh-Day Adventism, Unitarianism; Shi’ism, Sufism, Wahhabism,
animism, apocalypticism, Calvinism, creationism, evangelicalism, fundamentalism, humanism, inerrantism, mysticism, occultism, Pentecostalism, premillennialism, Puritanism, revivalism, sacramentalism, secularism, shamanism, trinitarianism, unitarianism, Zionism,

The fact of the matter is....They have grown more than you have, or they have not grown as much, Their experiences are different from yours giving them a different view of the same thing, like facets of the same gem.

Who are we to condemn anybody simply for disagreeing with us? We don't act much like Christians. We act like cannibals looking to eat each other
What? You don't like me saying that? Then go talk to God about it. Not the god of pride but the ONE GOD
James 1:[SUP]5 [/SUP]If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

1 Corinthians 1:[SUP]9 [/SUP]God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.[SUP]10 [/SUP]Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

2 Timothy 3:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.[SUP]13 [/SUP]But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.[SUP]14 [/SUP]But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;[SUP]15 [/SUP]And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.[SUP]16 [/SUP]All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:[SUP]17 [/SUP]That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

Hebrews 4:[SUP]12 [/SUP]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.[SUP] 13 [/SUP]Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.[SUP] 14 [/SUP]Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.[SUP] 15 [/SUP]For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.[SUP]16 [/SUP]Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Ephesians 4:[SUP]12 [/SUP]For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:[SUP]13 [/SUP]Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:[SUP]14 [/SUP]That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;[SUP]15 [/SUP]But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

1 Corinthians 2:[SUP]2 [/SUP]For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

1 John 2:[SUP]18 [/SUP]Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.[SUP]19 [/SUP]They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.[SUP]20 [/SUP]But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.[SUP]21 [/SUP]I have not written unto you because ye know not the truth, but because ye know it, and that no lie is of the truth.....[SUP]26 [/SUP]These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you.[SUP] 27 [/SUP]But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.[SUP]28 [/SUP]And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.

1 Thessalonians 5:[SUP]21 [/SUP]Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.[SUP] 22 [/SUP]Abstain from all appearance of evil.[SUP] 23 [/SUP]And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.[SUP] 24 [/SUP]Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.[SUP]25 [/SUP]Brethren, pray for us.

2 Thessalonians 3:1Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:[SUP] 2 [/SUP]And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.[SUP] 3 [/SUP]But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.[SUP] 4 [/SUP]And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you.[SUP] 5 [/SUP]And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.[SUP] 6 [/SUP]Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.[SUP]7 [/SUP]For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;...........[SUP]13 [/SUP]But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.[SUP]14 [/SUP]And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. [SUP]15 [/SUP]Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother
