John 8:[SUP]30 [/SUP]As he spake these words, many believed on him.[SUP] 31 [/SUP]Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;[SUP] 32 [/SUP]And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.[SUP] 33 [/SUP]They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?[SUP]34 [/SUP]Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.[SUP]35 [/SUP]And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever.[SUP]36 [/SUP]If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Another promise from God that by learning of Jesus in His words, you may rest in Him and His promises to you that He will set you free from sin's dominion over your lives and even keeping you from sin from having dominion over your lives.

38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.” (Acts 2:38)

Your the only person who mentioned tongue. and now accusing. Thats sad.
Note Enow's carefully worded OP:
Enow said:
Do not post any scriptural reference that supposedly only some believers have received but not all believers.

Post only those promises that applies to ALL believers in what they have received in Christ Jesus in rejoicing together.
Since Enow believes the "gift" of speaking in tongues is not for everyone, he is trying to keep people who believe in speaking in tongues from posting about it.

Also note his next couple of posts, specifically speaking against seeking baptism in the Holy Spirit.

You do the math...

I'm done here. :)

1 John 2:1My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:[SUP] 2 [/SUP]And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

1 John 1:
[SUP]9 [/SUP]If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

This is a promise from God that if any believer slipped and sinned, you can go to Him for forgiveness as well as for help not to do it again. So no matter how guilty you feel, He knows; go to Him now.

Hebrews 4:[SUP]12 [/SUP]For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.[SUP]13 [/SUP]Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.[SUP]14 [/SUP]Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.[SUP]15 [/SUP]For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.[SUP]16 [/SUP]Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

No matter how bad you have gotten nor how corrupt you are for having sown to the works of the flesh, no matter how many times you doubt yourself of your sincerity of your sorrow for sinning, you can go before that throne of grace for help from Jesus Christ to forgive you of your sins and to help you not to do it again. Keep hoping in Him and trust Him to do His work in you, including leading you away from temptation and delivering you from the evil one. That is why all our hope is in Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 10:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.[SUP] 13 [/SUP]There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

A promise from Jesus Christ to help you escape when you find yourself in a tempting situation.

Hebrews 2:[SUP]18 [/SUP]For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

James 4:[SUP]6 [/SUP]But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. [SUP]7 [/SUP]Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.[SUP]8 [/SUP]Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Jesus is not just serving as our example, but this is a promise from God that He will give us strength to help us go through our trials when we are tempted so we can resist the devil.

Good thing your done. Because you are reading something that is not there. It is a thread about promises of God. Not gifts of the spirit.

See ya.

1 Peter 4:[SUP]12 [/SUP]Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:[SUP] 13 [/SUP]But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

1 Peter 5:5...............and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.[SUP] 6 [/SUP]Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:[SUP] 7 [/SUP]Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.[SUP]8 [/SUP]Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:[SUP]9 [/SUP]Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.[SUP] 10 [/SUP]But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.[SUP] 11 [/SUP]To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Like from the Book of Job, Jesus Christ is still Lord so that no matter how bad it gets, He is in control and He can help you be calm in the midst of the storms or the trying times in your life. This also is a promise from God.

Philippians 4:11Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.[SUP] 12 [/SUP]I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.[SUP] 13 [/SUP]I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Matthew 5:
[SUP]30 [/SUP]Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?[SUP] 31 [/SUP]Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?[SUP] 32 [/SUP](For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.[SUP] 33 [/SUP]But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.[SUP] 34 [/SUP]Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

1 Timothy 6:
[SUP]6 [/SUP]But godliness with contentment is great gain.[SUP] 7 [/SUP]For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

Colossians 3:1
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.[SUP]2 [/SUP]Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

1 John 2:[SUP]15 [/SUP]Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.[SUP] 16 [/SUP]For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.[SUP]17 [/SUP]And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

The Lord Jesus will help us to keep the vanity of the wants in this world that would make us lose sight of our treasures in Heaven so that we can be thankful for what we do have and be content with Him being with us always, in walking us through this valley of death as our Good Shepherd and Friend.

That is a good promise from God to believe in and hope in when living in a world of vanities in how to be thankful by being content with what He has provided for us. His promise to help us to be content.

The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, And none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.

Psalm 34:22

This is a promise to those who put their faith and trust in Jesus. It is a favorite verse of mine.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek:for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:9-13

This passages emphasizes the importance of belief in Jesus and confession with the mouth, that is that Jesus is Lord. God hears the cry of all who call on the name of the Lord Jesus and saves them.

Colossians 2:[SUP]4 [/SUP]And this I say, lest any man should beguile you with enticing words.[SUP] 5 [/SUP]For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.[SUP] 6 [/SUP]As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:[SUP] 7 [/SUP]Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.[SUP]8 [/SUP]Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.[SUP] 9 [/SUP]For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.[SUP]10 [/SUP]And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Believe His promise that you are complete in Him since you had received Jesus Christ at your salvation. Do not let any believer entice you to think you are not complete in Christ by claiming to have something you do not have, wherein they claim they are closer to God by than you are.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-18:

For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

ROMANS 5:10.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son,
much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His Life.

Hebrews 9:11-14

But when Christ appeared as a high priest of the good things that have come, then through the greater and more perfect tent ( not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) he entered once for all into the holy places, not by means of the blood of goats and calves but by means of his own blood, thus securing an eternal redemption. For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer, sanctify for the purification of the flesh, how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without blemish to God, purify our conscience from dead works to serve the living God.

Hebrews 9:27-28:

And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment, so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus
