I cant remeber the whole scripture from memory. :)
But I do love it,
consider the lilys of the field, neither do they toil or work, yet nothing in solomons kingdom is arrayed as beautifully as these.
Ive often pondered on this scripture along with a few others.
Like ...
And in Him everything that was made, was made.
And anything that was not, was not made.

These and many like them are good for bringing us to see, that not only may we know that everything we need is given to us by God, and we can rest in this knowladge. :)

But also when we begin to think everything we do is by our own hand or work, we can by these scriptures be humbled,
knowing all is the work of His hand. :)

All we are Lord God, is the work of your hand, and all we recieve in salvation, is by Jesus Christ is Lord come in the flesh!
All is trully your glory! Your praise! Your grace! Your Love!

Please share a scripture that brings both comfort and humility to you .

God bless
:)

I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. (Phil. 4:13)

Just to get things started, pickles. :)

Aw, I was going to share that Philippians one, until you beat me to it. We have it on our dining room wall :)

Isaiah 64:8: "But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand"

Job 12:10: "In whose hand is the life of every living thing, And the breath of all mankind?"

I cant remeber the whole scripture from memory. :)
But I do love it. Consider the lilys of the field...
Luke 12:27-28: "Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; and yet I say to you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. If then God so clothes the grass, which today is in the field and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will He clothe you, O you of little faith?"

This is a lovely verse and passage that teaches us not to worry but to trust. I cannot help though but think of the starving millions in the third world. Could they say that and mean it? The truth is God does provide for everyone's needs but man is corrupt and causes much misery, if only the whole world followed the teaching of Jesus things would be so different. It is one thing to love our neighbor but how much better if our neighbor loved His neighbor. The fact is God works through people and we are His people and for scripture to be fulfilled in this respect needs something more than going all dewy-eyed but to remember the words of James who said faith without works is dead.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.

Hebrews 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said: "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you".

Its comforting to know that even if no one in this world is there for us, GOD is always there for us and He will NEVER leave us.

John 6:44
No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day

I bow before the Father in humbleness everyday and gratefulness because without the Father drawing me, I will still
be unsaved and on my way to hell.

Thank you Pickles for this thread as it makes us sit down to ponder on his word and the
depth of his word and what it means to us. With gratitude in our hearts, we need to
surrender our lives to Him each day and give him all our troubles and rest in Him cause
He and only He alone can comfort us and supply all our needs.

Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD.
Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow;
though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.
– Isaiah 1:18

I wouldn't forgive me, how blessed I am that He does :D

Thanks be to Jesus and the cross!
From Isaiah 53:
He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, upon him was the punishment that made us whole. And by his bruises we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray. We have all turned to our own ways. And the Lord has laid upon him the iniquities of us all.

You know i thinking of putting in the suggestion forum a forum called daily bread. A forum with new daily encouraging scripture, i mean when i listen to k love they have this very thing and i always listen expecting god to be speaking to me using the scripture and he almost always does. Perhaps this thread could be that? Although it would be difficult to keep up with a growing thread for new comers.

I once heard through another what those who live in these countries with so little , not just in physical need, but also persicution if found with a bible.
He said he was sad for we who have so much and he would pray for us.
Mostly because most have more than one bible, yet never read them.
For it is such that are trully poor.

I believe that even though thse that suffer for the physical needs do suufer in body, they are rich beyond mesure in Jesus!
They trully understand the praise and glory of God!

I think we all should just bring a thread of God's glory as often as we can!

in his book 'the life and times of jesus the messiah' alfred edersheim shows that jesus preached his sermon on the mount shortly after the winter rains...when the lilies were actually in bloom...
