Sounds to me like a good opportunity. Since she's willing to go to church with you and supports your new life, maybe she is open to it also. Maybe you can help lead her to Christ. Then your question would be moot.
I think thats a really good point... My life will not be the same and I'm not sure she realizes the implications of that. I will admit although I am now ashamed of it, but we did sleep together on a regular basis and so I guess my worry is that she might THINK she is okay with it now, but realize later on that its not what she signed up for, type of deal. In the long run if we had ever gotten married, I would assume we would want different things for our children if our beliefs were not the same... So I guess in my heart I know I can't date her but its easier said then done... I've had people tell me that she may get saved eventually, or maybe God has someone better for me in store, but that is hard to believe!
You have responded correctly to electricblue. when I first got saved. I did not break up with my girlfriend, but we did stop sleeping together. She went to church for a while but because she was doing it for me instead of herself she soon stop, and we broke up. I simply was not the person she used to know any more.

Be her friend. Take her to church. LET HER SEE how your RELATIONSHIP with Jesus has changed YOUR character and your LOVE for Jesus...because He first loved YOU.
Setting an example is KEY to winning her to the Lord.
But Beware: you must remain ONLY FRIENDS. If you were having sex before, it's forbidden by God's Word. Being more than friends would put temptations on you that you most likely can't handle.
And you simply CANNOT marry her unless she is born again and YOU SEE THE FRUIT of her walk with Christ.
Maggie
Maggie has given you some excellent advice, but be careful as she stated, becoming anything more than friends will bring temptation that would be very hard to bare.

Thank you for those of you who gave Biblically sound advice! And thanks for clarifying the verse on marriage that was posted because that confused me! I will work on just being her friend and an example for now :)

IGNORE THE IGNORANT! JUDEGE FOR YOURSELF (Luke 12:57)! Marriage is NOT some kind of game that U play with people (Matthew 22:1-14)! If U have sexual feelings towards each other, then U have already committed adultry!!! Search the sciptures! "Ignorance" is NOT bliss (Hosea 4:6), & reading the Bible can't help U if U lack discernment!!! Commiting adultry is never more than a thought away (Matthew 5:28)! Marriage is a sacred institution of The Most High (Hebrews 13:4) set to pretect followers of The Holy Spirit (NOT religion) from seducing spirits that deceive!!! Don't think for one second that because U've become a "christian", U will never be tested... because it would be sad if U thought that to Urself!

dating is not biblical!
The dating game is a dirty game, cause it is the devils game the dating game causes un healthy relationships, teen pregnancies, unwanted babies, abortions,vd is at an epidemic proportions, std is on the rise, and there is no cure, you are dead! Aids is not a disease,it is Gods judgment on all immorality, espechially in america.

boyfriends, girlfriends are not bible, they are sent by the devil to get christians out of Gods will!

If you want a mate,Mark 11:24 is still in the bible, ask Jesus to provide you with a mate, and He will,His choice not yours, and it will be a beautiful relationship made in heaven

God is love, so U don't need to marry her, but if she is unsaved, then Ur adultry is still on her & will go to anyone that goes to her (Matthew 5:28,31,32)!!!

That is the very reason I quoted 1 Corinthians 7 - "12: To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. 13: And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14: For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. *15: But if the unbeliever leaves, let him do so. A believing man or woman is not bound in such circumstances; God has called us to live in peace."

I think you're getting dating and sex mixed up. On another note, yes aids is a disease.
