DidJesus excuse us from the Law of the Old Testament?

Yes.

The Laws of the Old Testament is the covenant that God made between God and Israel. The New Covenant is a covenant made between God and Believers in Jesus Christ. Under the New Covenant we are to "Keep His Commandments" And His Commandments, according to Scriptures is 1) Believe on Jesus AND 2) Love One Another. Do those two things and you are abiding in the New Covenant with Jesus Christ. If you want more in depth Scriptures click on website below, then click on "Obey Old Testament?"^i^

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament law,by being the perfect saint, perfect temple, perfect sacrifice, perfect High Priest, perfect Prophet, and whatever else He had to fulfill.

So we go by the 2 greatest commandments, love God,and love people, which all the law,and prophets, hang on those 2 laws, which Jesus fulfilled.

Zec 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
Zec 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Zec 14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

Zec 14:9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

Zec 14:16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zec 14:17 And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.
Zec 14:18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.
Zec 14:19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

Isa 65:17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

But Jesus did not fulfill the role of the perfect King on earth yet,for He came as a humble servant, and at the millennial reign on earth in the future that is when He will be the perfect King on earth, and after the millennial reign then heaven and earth shall pass away.

Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Col 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:
Col 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

Isa 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
Isa 28:11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
Isa 28:12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

A spiritual sabbath by the Spirit, and it is a spiritual rest now.

1Ti 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
1Ti 4:5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

All meat is good for it is spiritual now.

Jesus took the physical ordinances of Israel out of the way nailing them to His cross, for they were contrary to us in that they had nothing to do with spiritual salvation.

We do not go by the physical ordinances, and physical laws,of the Old Testament.

Rom 3:31 Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Rom 7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.
Rom 7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

We establish the law,the moral laws, laws of love, for they are spiritual, holy, just, and good, and must always be obeyed.

Mark 2:

15 While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?”

17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”

From the law of the Old Testament, yes, from God's law, no. What's the difference? In the Old Testament God's law was done physically (the shadow way not the real way), but in the New Testament is done spiritually (the real way not the shadow way). (Colossians 2:17)

No

He fulfilled it for us because He knew we couldn't.

When we continue to try to fulfill it ourselves we trash the value of what He did and suffered for us.

We are redeemed through Christ through Faith we are blessed to receive the promise of Spirit to walk therein.

We live by the spirit not the letter.

As in GOD writes His Law in our hearts through His Love and Grace toward us.. No Greater Love is there to pierce us..
