Yes animals have a body and a spirit if they are alive. When they die, the spirit of life goes back to the Father. The body goes back to dust like all flesh. People have a soul, a body and a spirit. The soul goes to Heaven or Hell.

What is the spirit
Spirit is "life force".
Soul is conscientiousness.
I believe animals have spirit and soul.
They lack free will and higher reasoning.
They are only able act upon instinct or training.
One man's conclusion.

[h=1]Ecclesiastes 3[/h][SUP]18 [/SUP]I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

[SUP]19 [/SUP]For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.
[SUP]20 [/SUP]All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?
