Show me one lie.
Pretty much, everything you have posted in the two threads I started.

You don't understand Catholic Christianity at all. Christianity is the very opposite and antithesis of paganism.

When you claim that our practices are pagan and things like that, you speak falsehoods and evils.

Apparently you are responding to what people post in reply without any idea of what has been posted. Had you read my replies you would know that over a decade before you were even born, I had gone through the Baltimore Catechism. I do know about the Catholic religion, I do have many friends who are Catholic. I do not believe they are all going to hell.

As for my lies, sorry, everything I have posted is from personal observation in many countries. The RCC has very little to do with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, Yeshua, but you are Catholic, so you would not know that, for if you did, you would no longer be. Worship God! Believe Jesus Christ!

No we don't. You bear false witness. You speak the lies of the devil and you commit evil when you do. Repent.
Oh... I'm scared now... lol :p

I have been in numerous protestant establishments in my 40 years and in every one, I see what looks like a bunch of people worshiping the Bible.

People place their hand on the Bible and swear oaths to it, they sit it on their lap and pray to it. They open it up and pray to it. They jump up and down and sing praises to it.

Why anyone would worship a book is beyond me but it seems to be the foundation of the protestant religion.

Of course, this is not what is really going on. The truth is that probably no one actually worships the Bible itself.

But it sure does look like it. In fact, if I hadn't grown up protestant, I would be convinced that protestantism is all about the worship of the Bible itself.

And so looks can be deceiving.

Likewise, many protestants think that Catholics worship idols and statues and other pieces of art. (The Bible is a piece of art itself, btw)

Just like protestant Bible worship, there is no such thing as Catholic idol worship.

Despite the appearance that protestants worship the bible, Catholic Christians do not go around saying that protestants worship the Bible. We don't do this because it is not true and the bible commands us not to bear false witness against your neighbor and we have kept that commandment.

If you are a protestant please do likewise and show us the same respect we have shown you and stop doing evil by telling lies about us.

Thank You.
I have never seen anyone bow and pray to the bible. but I have seen Catholics bow before statues and pray directly to them.

I have never heard anyone say worship the bible, but I have heard Catholics say Mary is the Queen of Heaven, the coredemtrix of salvation who never sinned and was brought directly to Heaven.

I have never seen a protestant bury a bible to help sell a home, but you can buy Catholic kits and bury a statue of Joseph upside down looking at your home to help it sell.

Is this worshiping a saint, superstition or an innocent form of witchcraft?
You be the judge.

He just wants some respect towards his chosen religion. I think there should be less Catholic. Bashing here. I know now I'm. Not the only one bothered by it. Jeremy I would let this go. No one but God can read a persons heart and soul. Please don't let this stuff get to you.

Catholics worship who they know not. We worship the true God.
jonathan....that's a pretty broad brush.

i know "lapsed catholics" who have no part in Mary worship or any of that, who just believe Jesus died for the forgiveness of their sins.

i'm not staking everything on the whole catholic community worshipping a false deity.

It is not that Protestants 'worship' the Bible, but we do revere, and respect, and refer to it. Why? Because we believe that the Bible is God's word, inspired by the Holy Spirit, written by men that God used..for the church..the WHOLE church.
The reason many speak against what the Catholic church teaches is because that very same Bible refutes that which is considered truth to the Roman catholic church. I cannot speak for myself, yes some protestants may come across as bashing..I believe more often than not they only care(I cannot speak for all). I do weigh my words with Catholics and wait for the right times,opportunities..and look for ways to speak into a Catholic's life. The fact is, I have honestly not met many
born again Roman Catholics..Jesus said in John 3,that you must be born again..it said nothing about a specific church denomination..and that wherein lies one of many differences. The Catholic church teaches a gospel according to Rome, the Protestant says, 'thus saith the Lord', 'what saith the scripture', and the Bible says..

there is a definite reason for that..

I believe that I met the first 7th day adventist KJVonlyist yet..today at work,a coworker..telling me and a coworker to only read the 1611 KJV,that other translations were 'watered' down. I was letting a coworker read a CEB new testament I had.
KJVonlyism is something that is quite interesting in a sense, how they believe that the KJV is the 'only one' to read..and encourage burning all others down,in some extremes. I believe many KJVonlyists are of the Fundamental baptist bunch..so it seems.

What puzzles me the most about Catholics is the "divine power" the priest has in the church. You call him father and accept him as the mediator between you and God, when you can just talk to God the Father through Jesus--the One True mediator between God and man. You confess your sins to the priest which is a mere man. WHY?!

And as others have already pointed out, I don't get the rosary beads and the praying to Mary/saints (don't you know we are saints, also?). THAT is just wrong in my eyes, she can neither hear you nor forgive you OR let you in through the back door to heaven if God won't let you in the front.

Just out of curiosity, has it ever occurred to you that not everyone throughout history could read or that many people today still cannot read in many parts of the world?
Still no excuse for having votive candles, rosaries, statues etc. I never said anything is wrong with cherishing the oral Word if you don't have the written or you can't read. Your response essentially is a non sequiter.

Well , I think these kinds of threads are so pointless . I will say I never heard some one say the Bible is something that is worshiped worshiped: That statement might need to be farther evaluated, because it does not sound well though- out... But i'm not getting into that.

Each side is wasting their time here. Just study the every word of God as its written and lets not Judge each other ..

Proverbs 6:16-19

KJV

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto Him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

I have been in many Protestant churches (for weekend services and weekday gatherings) and I have NEVER seen anyone pray on the Bible, lay hands on it or dance to it. There are some Protestant churches that get very...we'll say enthusiastic. If any church puts the Bible, Mary or the eucherist (sp??) before God, they are practicing Christianity wrong.

I believe Protestants do worship the Bible, based on the introduction to the Gospel of John, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God............" Jesus Christ, Yeshua, IS the Word. We all worship Yeshua, Jesus Christ, Who is the Bible. How far off from the truth are those who are blinded by Papal bull(s).
LOL! Good call.

the king james only movement was actually started by seventh day adventists...and it went further downhill from there...
