Hmmm so if men isn't exclusive to men in some circumstances...cuz you and I both know what you're gettin at Stephen as far as women preachers....then it follows that women isn't exclusive to women in certain circumstances.

Which in return means the following verses can be read as...

Titus 2:4

4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children,

4 that they admonish the young men to love their husbands, to love their children,

1 Timothy 5

Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers, 2 older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, with all purity.

Do not rebuke an older man, but exhort him as a father, younger men as brothers, 2 older men as mothers, younger men as sisters, with all purity.

A man has to love his husband?:O
We need to treat older men as mothers?:O
We need to treat younger men as sisters?:O

No I'm a stinker, ain't i!

But, both were translated by the KJV as 'man'. How do we know, either way, until we go and see? God bless you in your studies.

Always remember the very cool rule in Hermeneutics is to interpret the many parallel passages that are clear

on a subject in the light or by the few if any unclear passage. Right?

God actually embodies both the male and female traits, and so both male and female embody His traits. So when He speaks of His body, He speaks to both.

Man - Mankind includes all.

Man may be used as a collective noun.

Just as when we say one does or he is, both include women. These particular grammar rules make all equal. It is very unfortunate that some movements for rights are ignorant of these rules. There was really no need of all the gender replacements and changes in publications.

People, this includes me, will always be foolish about certain things. Just one more reason we all need grace.

The word “he” is probably used a lot in the Bible, and your thread is a little unclear to me, but as a general rule, I think the word “he” would refer to both men and women. When the Lord said not to look lustfully at women, certainly he meant not to look lustfully at men, also.

I do not need a Bible to specifically say she or woman in all places to know that Yahvah God loves me for through Yahshua the Messiah he revealed this personally to me.

When in the Old Testament, you have women judges and prophets, and in the New Testament you have women prophets, deacons, and possibly one apostle, who can say that women cannot hold leadership positions or in those positions speak to men? Women are allowed to speak in church, just not in unruly way.

Id go slow on the Judge business without a definition. And description of what that
entailed...if you do you see her under authority

Yes on prophet

On deacons also unless you can describe the function and parameters biblically.
You cant make this position be qualified as an elder. Possibly it was even over woman.

Apostle? never heard that one unless you mean the Janias in romans. which
2 church fathers merely guessed who that was and didnt come up with an agreement.

Besides whoever it was was not like the 12 and still doesnt qualify them to be eldership.

Can woman talk in church? I agree they can as the bible instructs.

thats my story and im sticking to it:D
