I have been blessed by resting Friday evening into all day Saturday. It is a day I feel has been given to me by Him. Not only do I feel rested, but I also feel the Lord is close to me as I read scripture and pray and relax in His presence. I always seem more rested and relaxed during this day. There are times I have to answer calls (for my work), but for the most part, this day is really peaceful! Yes, I observe this day as the Sabbath and my Sabbath!

This declaration compounds the error. No matter how one tries to explain Christ is the Sabbath in refence to the seventh day, and that is what is being discussed here, He is NOT the Sabbath. His teaching gives us rest from the heavy yoke of the hypocrites. Is not this what your quote actually says?
Your not calling my words perverse; but Christ words. Because I just quoted him. Did I say any where ,that the sabbath day was Not to be observed . I said Christ is our Sabbath ...

The thing is, we can get in trouble when holding onto our understanding; when confronted with a thought from the Bible we were not aware of.,. It's okay to question weather it is right or wrong. But when it comes from Christ Himself, we should never resist Christ teachings, & what is written...

With reference to the OP: Glad to see you are finding your way in Sabbath observance. The counsel not to make your experience the norm for others strikes me as wise. The Talmud spelled out exactly what was and was not "rest" and made it normative. Jesus is a notorious Talmud ignorer.

The Sabbath is a type of salvation - we rest from our works and enter into the presence of God. It is also a commonly ignored spiritual principle - we need to keep short accounts on our rest/recharging cycles. It is not God's best intention that we dedicate ourselves to work, looking forward to that vacation 6 months down the road (or to that trip home four years down the road). We need to have a weekly praise/worship day worthy of our ongoing anticipation. Each one of us is capable of determining the nuts and bolts of what that means for ourselves - the Sabbath needs to be our anticipated rest. We live by faith and conviction - because the Holy Spirit has placed fire in each of our hearts. There are no normative rules for Sabbath observance. Jesus will ignore any "Christian Talmud" we might care to write.

Just needed to quote this again along with this scripture :

Matthew 11:28 ( Christ speaking )

(KJV)

28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Mark 2:27-28

King James Version (KJV)

27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:

28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
Jesus said we are to worship Him in spirit and in truth. If we love God inwardly it will be shown outwardly. If Jesus is our sabbath it will be shown by keeping His sabbath.

JaumeJ, do I need to REST from my LIFE in Christ? LOOK at the birds they do not gather and they do not plant fields, yet God takes care of them, are you not more worth than a little bird?

You talk as though work and the work you do a LABOUR! What if you do it for God and to the GAIN OF HIS WORD! Like this little buisiness of ours, it is 100% ran to the promotion of TRUTH and HOLINESS!!!! Every thing that is done here is to HONOR God. Now why should I REST from honouring GOD? MAy I please continue honoring and worshipping God EVERYDAY! Or do I have to go OUT of that worship and praising on Sunday, or Saturday, or Tuesday.... Can not my whole life be a SABBATH LIFE! Where it is like Jesus said.... EVERY DAY IS SABBATH!

Let me ask you this, on what days did Jesus do MORE FATHER and LESS WORLD (labour) OR on what days did Jesus do LESS FATHER AND MORE WORLD? He was the same MAN EVRYDAY. Are you a different man on Monday to Friday, and over the weekends? Do I have to become another man on the Sabbath to take the calf out the pit? NO! Work is not GOD, but all WORK THAT IS RIGHT in the eyes of the Lord, is not WORK, it is an extention to you as person. You can do it one of two ways.... You can do it God's way or Satan's way.

God's way is, DO NOT LET WORK BECOME YOUR LORD! Satan's way is.... WORK SO HARD YOU HAVE NO TIME FOR GOD! The greedy people is VERY evident of this.... People who made their WORK THEIR LEGACY! In stead like Paul and Jesus, let their GOSPEL's be their legacy. If people remember you, they should remember Jesus in you, not what you had build, it will all be destroyed some day anyway.... I just had this thought the other day.... There will be no "WINDOWS XP, or 5001 in heaven...

So you see that Sabbath is not a day, it is a PERSON! Some people are sinners on six days, and they take a rest on the seventh, and becomes alll "HOLY" and righteouss (AN ACT). Others remain sinners for seven days,,,, others go to Jesus and HE gives them a JOB they do not have to rest from. Like mine, I CANNOT rest more on ANY day than I rest EVERYDAY! I rest even though I work! Why do I need "rest" if God gave me REST! No matter what I do, I REST WITH GOD!

If I rest from work, I rest for God, if I work I WORK for God, how can I devide my time FOR GOD, if ALL my time is for God! Jesus gave us a perfect example.... DID JESUS DO ANTHING DIFFERENT ON THE SABBATH THAN HE DID ON THE OTHER DAY'S? NO HE DID NOT!
We should live the same, EVERYDAY 100% for God!

It is strange, that the majority of Christians do not keep the 4th commandment, as it is prescribed in Gods law.
This is the longest and most detailed of all the commands. This is the only command that does not begin with a thou shalt or thou shalt not. There must be a reason God begins this command with "Remember the Sabbath", and goes on in detail to specify exactly which day of the week on which the Sabbath falls. Could it be that God knew we would forget.

At any rate, why should we keep this commandment as God specifies?
Because God commands us to!
It is not a request or a suggestion.
If we love Jesus we will obey all the ten commandments.
Jesus sums up all the commands with #1: Love God with all your heart and soul, and #2: Love your neighbor as your self.
If we love God it is impossible not to keep any of the first four commands; Saturday Sabbath included.
If we love our neighbor as we do ourselves, it is impossible not to keep the other six commands.
Keeping these commands proves we love Jesus, and will be used as evidence at the judgment.

John 14:15

If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Not rocket science, is it?

Please read the content of what I have posted on the subject. The quote was posted when our Lord said "Come to me all...." This quote was utilized to support that Jesus Christ IS the Sabbath. This is the farthest from the truth for He goes on to say "learn from me for my yoke...........He gives rest from the teachings of hypocrites who weigh heavy burdens on the assembly while not lifting a finger to lift them themselves. Read all of the material on this. When Jesus said He is Lord of the Sabbath He was referring to doing good works on the Sabbath being good to do because the hypocrites did not want Him to heal on the Sabbath. Jesus fulfilled the law, and the curse of the law, that is to say the punishment and death, were crucified with Him but as He teaches none of the law will change. We are free of the concsequences of the law but we yet find wisdom therein, or is our Father in error in giving them in the first place. I do not refer to anything other than the laws on conduct and morality, I do not refer to the statutes on the Temple or living in Israel. Read what I have posted on the Sabbath. The observance of the Sabbath is never forbidden by our Lord, nor is it to cease, for one day our Sabbath will be eternal, and I do not mind at all observing here the shadow of the glory to come. Now, I would like to know how you get from me that I even suggest resting from our Lord? I do not understand where you got that...reread all I have posted here, and you will never get that I have even hinted at such a barbarity. God bless you.............. Also, I have never put my employment together with works given by our Father, again, how did you ever come to that idea?

JaumeJ, do I need to REST from my LIFE in Christ? LOOK at the birds they do not gather and they do not plant fields, yet God takes care of them, are you not more worth than a little bird?

Everyone with a problem with observing the Sabbath should first know what it is. How can every day be the Sabbath when we go about our own business and pleasures, this does mean employment. One day is set aside as a privileged day to spend with our God in the manner we know to be correct. If anyone here has every day as Sabbath, he is in the Kingdom and no longer in this age. If everyday is the Sabbath, then do not do anything any day that is for your own benefit, work solely for the Lord, and then only works He gives you...........

Hi all!

I know that as younger of Christ Jesus we have to hold that command. But is our calendar right? Is it really fr night till sat night?

So do we have to hold it, yes or no?

In past i hold it sometimes but everytime i got irritated like

a) be careful not to make it under law, stay in grace
b) do it "in faith spiritual" and not "in faith work"

and and...

so where is the Truth?

Hello Univeral Man, shalom.

We can only go by the Hebrew calendar in our counting of the days and months according to the Word.

Now no one can say if the calendar is exact or off by a day or two, a year or two, or even a century or two. Why? I am glad you ask.

The Hebrew scholars utilized the numbers of years afforded by the Word, that is by the genealogies from Adam and the Creation.

There is a law not to add to nor to take away from the Word of Yahweh, God, so here is what happened.

Some of the genealogies were purposely omitted by Yahweh God from the Book, I mean the years of certain notables ages in line from Adam and creation until the calendar was formulated, so, because of the law of not adding or taking away, the scholars delberately did not try to calculate any missing figures.

So with certain genealogies omtted purposely we are now at the year 5773.

Everyone knows that some folks in the book of Genealogies lived over 900 years while others live only into thier 100's.

With this in mind we could reach the actual year 6,000 any minute now, without being aware of it. You know the sixth millennium finishes the moment the seventh begins, midnight of the year 6,000.

As for the days of the week, they are accurate from the Hebrew lunar calendar, and remember, utilizing it as the age of the world can only be based on faith. Faith dictates I go by it, for that is my faith.

As for the day one celebrates the Sabbath, any day of the week is fine as long as the observer has a clear consciend Godward. Simple as that.

To say the Sabbath has been abolished in favor of Jesus, Himself, is calling Jesus a liar when He teaches the laws are not abolished but completed in Him. Now where in any Bible does it teach Jesus has become the Sabbath. We do obtain rest from Him providing we learn from Him, however those who do not are still learning from the contemporary equivalent to the Scribes and the Pharasess of Christ's time. Those who do not heed Jesus have a very heavy burden. Praise God, the teaching of His son is an easy yoke and a light burden, as He teaches, amen.

You would be correct, in questioning the calendar day, if the Gregorian calendar were the only reference point. But the Jewish calendar which is unchanged exists, and there are millions of Jews providing us with the absolute proof that the Sabbath is Friday sunset till Saturday sunset.

"a) be careful not to make it under law, stay in grace"
Be careful not to confuse the Commandments of God with the law of Moses; the law of the book.
Paul said we are free from the law of the book. He never said we were free from Gods commands.
These are two separate laws. One set of laws was written in stone by the finger of God. These are all laws of love.
Paul said we are free from the laws of the book and ordinances that are against us; circumcision, dietary and ceremonial laws, and a host of other ordinances. There are no ordinances contained in the ten commandments.
Like Jesus said; #1 Love God (if we love God it is impossible not to keep the first four commands, including the Sabbath)
#2 Love your neighbor as yourself (if we love our neighbor it is impossible not to keep the other six commands
John 14:15

AHAH, You are starting to see the point... but you make it as if the ETERNAL Sabbath is not at our disposal ALREADY! And it is! JaumeJ I refer to all who do not see this. But since we did not speak much as yet, I will repeat it for your benefit...

1. When do we enter into the Kingdom of GOD? 2. When do we enter into the PEACE Jesus promises. 3. When do we enter ETERNAL LIFE? 4. When do we enter INTO GOD? 5. When does God MAKE US FREE? 6. Free from what?

I will answer all these questions.
1. When HE gives us REBIRTH.
2. When HE gives us REBIRTH.
3. When HE gives us REBIRTH.
4. When HE gives us REBIRTH.
5. When HE gives us REBIRTH.
6. Free from: false teachings, all evil, sin, hell, satan, temptation, flesh, fleshly lusts, World, and Worldly thoughts, the works of Satan.

The last answer to the last question...
When does REBIRTH happen?
Well according to 1 John 3, OBVIOUSLY at the END of sanctification/justification and cleansing or repentance!

God bless you too my friend. And I did not refer to you as in person, this is for all who read this....

Whups, hows this for timing God literally just used the fuel project - stay free series to explain this to me. we are no longer under this law. there is nothing wrong with doing it if you want but we are to now focus on what is in our hearts and love towards oneanother and love for God. I think my life just changed for the better. Time to focus on love :D:D:D

this law leads to death Jesus died to free us from the 613 rules and instead told us our hearts need to change not what day of the week we worship. Love you all :) even that guy with the beard that always argues with me lol!

This is beginning to sound inquisitory. I have passed from death to life because of Yeshua, and I answer to Him. By the way, He does not question. I asked Him and He forgave me a long time ago.

Oh God said He gave us an inquisitive spirit that would even search the depths of God! Boy does God tell the TRUTH... JaumeJ. If yu passed from death to life, that means you are ALREADY in the EVELASTING SABBATH....

Why do you keep it only ONE day then? See you contradict Scripture or you are fooling yourself with false teachings you recieved somewhere. Be wise, do a study one HOW GOD SAVES!

Just one verse you may NOT contradict... 1 John 3:9... Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
The only way you passed from death to life, is if GOD GAVE YOU A BIRTH FROM HIMSELF.... And then you CANNOT SIN!

Please recoil that index finger and remember God comes to each person in the way needed. He is all things to all people. I have not responded to many of your posts and your position out of obedience to our Father. How can someone who says he has not received the Holy Spirit give lessons to those who have? I love to come here and share what has been revealed to me not to tell people how and where they are wrong. Who are you to tell me I only spend one day with Jesus when He lives in my heart? Who are you to tell me I cannot obey the Ten Commandments? The seventh day when Yahweh rested is more than symbolic of the thousand years of peace. This I am sharing. The seventh day, for me, is far to important to ignore, especially in view of the teaching from Jesus, Yeshua, Himself that the laws are not abolished, but completed. He never said He is the Sabbath. There is not teaching He is the Sabbath. His teaching about coming to Him to rest is in direct reference to the hypocrytical teachings of the scribes and the pharisees.
You are not commissioned nor imbued with the authority to tell anyone who claims the Blood of the Lamb of God for his salvation when to observe or what as long as that person does it with a clear conscience in the sight of Yahweh, God. So you say "Oh God said He gave us an inquisitive spirit" to cover your blind accusations of others. Be certain of what you are repeating from the Word before you imply it. It is not there for your interpretation, but the Holy Spirit gives life to the printed Word.

Have you not read any day, any food, anything observed with a clear conscience in the sight of our God is not sin, but you come accusing others of not knowing, being ignorant.

I have read the Word in prayer and meditation dozens of times, and still I do not know near as much as you do of it, according to you, and according to you without the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. I do not say you worship wrongly, or even that you are wrong, only that you accuse blindly.

If you wish to fellowship in Spirit and Truth, you must allow for others who are placed differently, yet in the very same light. God bless you with His love and understanding.
Oh God said He gave us an inquisitive spirit that would even search the depths of God! Boy does God tell the TRUTH... JaumeJ. If yu passed from death to life, that means you are ALREADY in the EVELASTING SABBATH....

DID JESUS DO ANYTHING DIFFERENT ON THE SABBATH THAN HE DID ON THE OTHER DAY'S? NO HE DID NOT!
Absolutely He did!! Jesus kept God's 7th day Sabbath totally different than the other 6 days;

Jesus did NOT Cook on God's 7th day Sabbath! Exod. 16:23
Jesus did NOT Buy on God's 7th day Sabbath! Neh. 13:15-22
Jesus did NOT Sell on God's 7th day Sabbath! Neh. 13:13-22
Jesus did NOT Teach that God's 7th day Sabbath should be kept any other way! Matt. 5:19

God did NOT put these same restrictions on the other days.....unless those days were "high days", or yearly Sabbaths!

Jesus kept God's 7th day Sabbath as God instructed man to keep it!

Exodus 31

And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, 13Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for itis a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you. 14Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people. 15Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, holy to the LORD: whosoever doeth any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death. 16Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant. 17It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

1 Peter 1

1 Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
[SUP]4 [/SUP]To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,
[SUP]5 [/SUP]Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
[SUP]7 [/SUP]That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
[SUP]10 [/SUP]Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
[SUP]12 [/SUP]Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
[SUP]14 [/SUP]As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:
[SUP]15 [/SUP]But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;
[SUP]19 [/SUP]But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,
[SUP]21 [/SUP]Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
[SUP]23 [/SUP]Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
[SUP]24 [/SUP]For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
[SUP]25 [/SUP]But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

What does your heart say?

Did the Messiah not tell us to Keep and Teach the Commandments?

Did Heavenly Father not say:

Exodus 20

[SUP]6 [/SUP]And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Matthew 22

[SUP]36 [/SUP]Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
[SUP]37 [/SUP]Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
[SUP]38 [/SUP]This is the first and great commandment.
[SUP]39 [/SUP]And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
[SUP]40 [/SUP]On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
