All good issues and topics and I generally agree with all. The Six cited above need further
clarification, even more than in the summary statements issued in the original posts, but
I generally agree. Most of it is terminology, but like Cessationism, the terminology is the
key, as you see with Zone's misunderstanding (kind) or misinterpretation (true) or
misuse (real) of the idea of 'perfect' and the application of the quenching of the Holy Spirit
by denial of the power of the word of God to the point of interference - A REAL DEMON
there.
I checked the web site these came from, listened to the man's testimony, but could not
find a Doctrinal Statement. I also don't see an affirmative approach to scripture - the
man is understandably (and not incorrectly) responding to his frame of reference, and
has a good testimony and valid response. To reach the Churchians we need an
affirmative response as well - to teach and edify with sound doctrinal roots.
This sort of approach to scripture (addressing demons, heresies and cults) is sadly almost
necessary today, as much of the work is the undoing of falseness of organized religion
(McRelligion and Churchianity). Thus it was with Jesus and the Apostles and Disciples in
Bible times. Sadly, so it will be a similar outcome as these evils will be destroyed barring
repentance, and many organizations, institutions and the people associated and affiliated
with them. Still, the power is in the affirmative approach to studying, understanding,
applying and sharing the teachings of Scripture/Scriptural Doctrines. So many discuss
and offer opinion on scripture, but many have never read through the Bible, don't
understand how to read the Bible, don't understand the Doctrines, and leave it to the
magic preacher, magic parking lot, magic building, magic gummit (aka gubmint, aka
government) to 'save' them.

You must mean by "The Church's Historic Position" -- the Apostate Church, say of
Stephen and Nicolas et. al. All that is finished is the work of laying the foundation -- The
apostles and Jesus, with Jesus being the Corner Stone. The DOCTRINE is finished, it is
called The NEW Testament. But the church is hardly built. It is for each believer to make
themselves, as called by the Lord, into living stones of the new Temple.

This is however, not a defense of a denomination or any particular event (neither Baptist
or Pentecostal, Baptism or Pentecost). It is certainly not saying that there is any new
Revelation or Doctrine. It says, the Doctrines are all now laid out and written down. The
Book is Complete ... still, it must be preached ... Do not be "Ashamed of the Gospel" for
therein, many have fallen or fallen away ...

SO, its YOUR priority to MAKE SURE you are ALWAYS pleasing to GOD. THAT is FEAR of the LORD(which is only the BEGINING of wisdom). ANY gospel that leaves OUT the FEAR of the LORD is a false Gospel.
