What did Jesus do? How did he get people's attention? Did he scream from the rooftops or did he first meet a physical need?

The scriptures don't really get in depth as far as how he first approached people everytime he preached. However it does state people thought he was a harsh preacher so he was no Joel Osteen. He did approach individual people & healed them but as far a how he attracted people to him initially doesn't specifically say.

I think it does say. Seemed to me he had a pretty soft touch with people who were hurting and a hard touch with those who had no interest in getting healed.

Based on the mini series the Bible. John the baptist knew who Jesus was the moment their eyes met.
I do not recall reading anywhere in Scripture where Jesus had to perform miracles or convince John who he was.
The Samaritan woman at the well had a quiet talk with Jesus as he told her of her many ex husbands in her life's history.
She was amazed and told the towns people of this. Then many came out to see Jesus.

Even his disciples said his preaching was harsh. He even asked his disciples are you offended. So it has nothing to do with not being healed that is just the way Jesus is. Yes he has a soft side but as far as preaching the fathers word Jesus was about his business.

He exposed a lot of not so good treats in his disciples. In fact, I think many of the lessons we think he was teaching to others was more for the benefit of his disciples.

I think most Christians understand this. How do you know it it's the Holy Spirit or just you and your particular bend about whatever the situation is?
That is when we go you His Word, which He promised would never fade by the way, and make sure you are lining up with His word. His Spirit leads us to all truth, and I have to add it's a bit strange for a Christian to ask "How do you know it it's the Holy Spirit or just you", do you not understand this? Is it not something you deal with every day since salvation. I say how can you NOT know it's the Holy Spirit? Not that I'm saying we can figure out everything without looking into it, but if it's His Spirit it WILL lead you to all truth.

I think it puts us into all kinds of dangerous waters when we can say....the Holy Spirit told me.

Peter attempted to do so in the garden and Jesus told him to put up his sword.

How does an omnipotent God need anything?

When John was in prison, he sent disciples to ask Jesus if He was Messiah:

Matthew 11:

2 Now when John had heard in the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

3 And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or do we look for another?

4 Jesus answered and said unto them, Go and shew John again those things which ye do hear and see:

5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.

6 And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.

What are some scriptures that command us to defend God, the gospel or the truth? Why would an all powerful God need defending from little old us?
Absolutely! There are many verses on this topic but to me the best one is Jude 3.

Paul's analogy of the WHOLE armor of God in Ephesians 6......HE uses the analogy of a Roman soldier and his armor...we are ALSO armed with an offensive weapon (the SWORD of the Spirit)<--word of God.....

He has wronged none of us. As a matter of fact, he created all of us and is leading us to heaven. So I don't see how he needs any of us to defend him.

Then it snowballs into dehumanization of the other person. Kinda like that dude in the other thread who likes to call us "mockers". I get it, I know why people do it. It's because of intellectual spiritual and emotional laziness.
Yeah, thats why I placed him on ignore. Not worth it. Some people I think just want to fight..

He was harsh to the religious do gooders. Not the general people.

Of course the Lord Himself does not need to be defended, God will defend Himself. On the other hand, we should defend the truth of the word of God. When someone manipulates the word of God or lies about it, we should defend the truth.

One may be able to use uppercase to get the word out a little louder. Trouble is!...That may be about as effective as the street corner evangelist yelling that everyone is a sinner and going to Hell. lol
