Well, I can't say I understand the laying on of hands because I have never experienced this, but I liked G777's thoughts on it and I can move on, keeping in mind that He will show me this in real life at some future time.

What part of the list did you not understand?
we lay hands on people if we pray for them, but thats about all I have seen,, I am not sure it is today as it was back in Pauls day. but would not argue either way.

I do not know what your major malfunction is, But the mods now can take care of it.

I am sick of people coming in accusing others of things, and never wanting to discuss anything, This post you just made hads NOTHING to do with the post you responded to.
is that what you call an answer to what you were asked.
or do i need to ask again.

you can be sick all you want.

if you cannot prove your your stand point from scripture. or answer in context to what you were asked.
then why are you here, on the forum.

9 As we have said before, so now I say again: If anyone is preaching to you a gospel contrary to the one you received, let him be accursed.
10 For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.Galatians 1

Laying on of hands

From scripture laying of hands is for spiritual gifting and for healing.
Is there a reason why people would not lay hands on another as an expression
of love and blessing?

I tried calling people out before. Did not get me anywhere, and I am sure made alot of people upset. So from now on, I am just reporting that nonsense, 1 time I warn, second and on times, I report without even warning..
Very good! You care about us and don't want to let them derail us from moving on. I think eg is sweet on us...:)
Ignore it. We aren't unaware of the enemies ploys to rile up our flesh! That #$@* uses us to do his work.

Resurrection of the dead is next
Matthew 27:52
The tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised;

Daniel 12:2
"Many of those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt.

John 5:28-29
"Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice, and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

Revelation 20:12-13
And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds.

Acts 17:31
because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead."

1 Corinthians 15:52
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.

1 Thessalonians 4:16
For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

Acts 24:15
having a hope in God, which these men cherish themselves, that there shall certainly be a resurrection of both the righteous and the wicked.

Matthew 25:31-32
"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats;

1 Corinthians 15:12
Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead?

Matthew 22:23
On that day some Sadducees (who say there is no resurrection) came to Jesus and questioned Him,

Mark 12:18
Some Sadducees (who say that there is no resurrection) came to Jesus, and began questioning Him, saying,

Luke 20:27
Now there came to Him some of the Sadducees (who say that there is no resurrection),

Acts 23:8
For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, nor an angel, nor a spirit, but the Pharisees acknowledge them all.

2 Timothy 2:18
men who have gone astray from the truth saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset the faith of some.

Acts 17:18
And also some of the Epicurean and Stoic philosophers were conversing with him. Some were saying, "What would this idle babbler wish to say?" Others, "He seems to be a proclaimer of strange deities,"--because he was preaching Jesus and the resurrection.

Acts 26:8
"Why is it considered incredible among you people if God does raise the dead?

Matthew 22:29-32
But Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not understanding the Scriptures nor the power of God. "For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. "But regarding the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken to you by God:
'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB'? He is not the God of the dead but of the living."

Mark 12:24-27
Jesus said to them, "Is this not the reason you are mistaken, that you do not understand the Scriptures or the power of God? "For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven. "But regarding the fact that the dead rise again, have you not read in the book of Moses, in the passage about the burning bush, how God spoke to him, saying, 'I AM THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, and the God of Jacob'?
"He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; you are greatly mistaken."

Luke 20:34-38
Jesus said to them, "The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry nor are given in marriage; for they cannot even die anymore, because they are like angels, and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.
"But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed, in the passage about the burning bush, where he calls the Lord THE GOD OF ABRAHAM, AND THE GOD OF ISAAC, AND THE GOD OF JACOB. "Now He is not the God of the dead but of the living; for all live to Him."

1 Corinthians 15:35-44
But someone will say, "How are the dead raised? And with what kind of body do they come?" You fool! That which you sow does not come to life unless it dies; and that which you sow, you do not sow the body which is to be, but a bare grain, perhaps of wheat or of something else. read more.
But God gives it a body just as He wished, and to each of the seeds a body of its own. All flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one flesh of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fish. There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the glory of the heavenly is one, and the glory of the earthly is another. There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for star differs from star in glory. So also is the resurrection of the dead It is sown a perishable body, it is raised an imperishable body; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body

Ok, we'll skip Repentance. It seems you simply have to consider it throwing ashes on your head. Be that as it may.

So, tell me about when Jesus baptized you with fire. (Luke 3:15 ff) Or, are you just moving on to something else, since that is still unclear, too?

No, there is no reason why they wouldn't. I personally have not ever experienced this one, either through receiving or giving, so it is the one I have no realtime knowledge of.

I think it is a great topic, surprised more are not involved.. I am going to start personal discipleship with a young mad wed, Am starting on Eph, (I know he has been to church for ahwile, but do not know what he really knows. so a good milk passage would be a good start) I think we all need to know what milk is..

And I am always sweet on you all. Just do not show it sometimes
:p

He he. LOL (Yeah, never mind if anything is ever understood.... we have a list to get through.)
What is it that you don't understand or like to further discuss?

It's not that we don't want your input....its just that we continued the conversation in your absence...don't worry, EG is in a similar boat..,

for the room. I did not read all. did we get through repentance yet?

For the postor. No one has been baptized in fire yet.. No one is completely immersed in hell. that will be a future event done to people (chaff) who rejected the baptism of the spirit, and that fire will never be quenched (hell)

Is this something we may have largely lost? Or are there no longer many men who lay down their life to follow?

I'm not sure. If we go to a church that doesn't teach about laying on of hands to impart or release blessings/goodness - then we are not going to be doing it. Faith comes from hearing.

Laying my hands on people when I pray for them is common for me so I never thought about it that much. My mind is renewed to the truth of laying on of hands so I have no internal conflict on the subject.

Now when top do it and is it being done under the guidance of the Holy Spirit - that's a whole different topic...:)

I actually was mad at myself later for not looking in the mirror when I read that verse! HAHA! I wondered if I would have seen tongues of fire like they did on each other at the moment it happened! :D

You never had anyone hug you, hold your hands and have someone say a prayer over you and your life?

I don't think he is talking about that fire.

No. I went to a few churches but then I fled them within one or two times. So He has taught me Himself up to now.
