do y'all feel satisfied or thirsty?

i know songs that refrain, "
i thirst no more in you"
& i know others that seem contrary: "
we are thirsty for more"

which of these is correct theology?
which of these reflects your actual life?
which ones should we be singing?
are both worship?

The way i see it as we abide in Christ we will not thirst again. We are getting everything we need.

But if we allow the flesh to take control then we will feel the thirst for more.

Its like Gods genius way to draw us back. And help us grow in obedience and faith.

So both songs are correct.

I remember when I first heard about drinking from the well and the story that went with it.
Awesome.
Fill your cup, let it run over, enjoy!

Being filled of the holy spirit is one thing, but drunkenness doesn't produce a sober mind. I wouldn't put "drunk" and the holy spirit together. It's like mixing the holy with the profane. The scriptures never spoke of any drunkenness in a positive light

Ephesians 5:18 is commonly used to express this idea, but I think some do not interpret it correctly, but that may just be me.

I believe there is a huge difference between being "drunk" on strong drink and being "filled" with the Holy Spirit. Foremost is that the Holy Spirit DOES NOT impair us, but strengthens us.

John Gill has a fairly good explanation of this Scripture:

http://r.search.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0LE...-18.html/RK=0/RS=fR4weni3J5c8P7FZisATJYPoFuI-

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess
The sin of drunkenness here dehorted from, is a custom, or habit, of voluntary excessive drinking of any strong liquor, whereby the mind is disturbed, and deprived of the use of reason: though wine is only here mentioned, that being the usual liquor drank in the eastern countries, yet the same holds good of any other strong liquor, as of that; nor is drinking wine for necessary use prohibited, nor for honest delight and lawful pleasure; but excessive drinking of it,

but be filled with the Spirit;
that is, "with the Holy Spirit", as read the Vulgate Latin and Ethiopic versions; with the gifts and graces of the Spirit: some have been filled with them in an extraordinary way, as the apostles on the day of Pentecost; and others in an ordinary manner, as common believers; and who may be said to be filled with the Spirit, as with wine, or instead of it, or in opposition to it, when the love of God is shed abroad in their hearts by the Spirit, which is compared to wine, for its antiquity, purity, and refreshing nature; and they are filled with it,

*** some abuse the Spirit just as some abuse the Word*** there are numerous testimonies of the Spirit flooding one's life ( drunkenness) and transforming them*** check out Rodney Howard Brown*** Grace and Peace...
One can abuse the Word (just look at some of these threads, LOL!)

The Holy Spirit cannot be abused, for He won't allow God's power & glory to be used foolishly.

One's anointing will not work for secular/profane use.

The phrase "these men are not drunk as you suppose" signifies no drunkenness at all.

Just because they "supposed" the others were drunk doesn't mean they even looked like it.

When something happens that you can't explain, you explain it in a way that you can understand, whether in the end that explanation is true or not.

There's no such thing as being "drunk in the Spirit".

The Holy Spirit moves upon us with purpose..... not to make us look stupid or drunk.

I know, you will say, "but I saw it, I experienced it". You're right that you experienced something, but it wasn't the Holy Spirit.

I've seen it too in many services, but it's not of God.

I'm a 35 year Pentecostal minister, & I can tell you..... most people who experience these things never go any further in their maturity or calling of God. If it were of the Spirit, there would be better manifestations than these, for God is much bigger than that.:)
AMEN to that...........as false as can be! (The bolded)

lolzzzz...you're right!

But hopefully some other sheep will see the absurdity and Spiritual immaturity of those who post like that against those standing against the tide of heresy. Even if it prevents one sheep from going astray, it will be worth the fight.

Yeah....we're just too holy for the joy of Holy Spirit....

Problem is...I've drank from that well...and theres nothing like it.

I got hit with electricity twice. The second time in an open vision I end up in the river that swept away, physically went back about 10 feet...and came to...couldn't speak, just laughed and laughed and laughed.

I love that video...because I know...

Now God hits us with electricity....*sigh*

Isn't it amazing how folks can be knocked to the ground, dance on the pews, bounce all over the place, and NEVER receive a single spiritual gift, get a call to a ministry, or receive anything of spiritual value in their lives?

It's that stuff that prompted Johnny Mac to condemn all the Pentecostals & charismatics, saying they are playing with strange fire.

What makes you think I've never had any type of ministry or have no gifts?

I agree...there is an experience in the Spirit where we get can get "drunk like" - but there are also those that mimic things done in the Spirit and they are just acting in the flesh.

A lot of people are acting in the flesh and they are just responding to the Spirit by what they have seen others do but that doesn't mean there are legitimate manifestations of the Spirit either.

People love to throw the baby out with the dirty water.

And personally slandering others in the body of Christ and exhibiting malice toward others by de-meaning them and insulting them is as much as a work of the flesh as is living the homosexual lifestyle. They are in the same lists.

It is best not to interact with these types as no good can come from it. Bless them and leave them in the hands of the Lord. All is well...:)

when were you left by the wayside , and if your cut off , by your own free will you have the rite to choose, the spirit dose not cut people off.
some are already cut off gal 5 v4. but not in gal 3 v5. (when you know the difference between these two verses.)

a double edged sword ,cuts both ways. your ignore leads to more ignorance.

so much, for love your enemy , even when you prove them wrong they are still in ignorance.

there is only one way out of delusion, but that a different topic.

18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
