resurrection of what?

re-creation or resurrection?

as we have borne the image of the earthy,
we shall also bear the image of the heavenly

isn't that the same "we" ?
are "
we" one "image" or another, or the "we" that "have borne," and "shall bear" ?

progressive revelation — The notion that God has revealed his truth and his redemptive plan in a progression from OT to NT and that later revelation (such as the NT) builds on and adds to the truths about God that were known previously. The Lexham Glossary of the theology
So you mean 'revelation' is progressive, not truth. Truth is the same yesterday, today and forever if in fact Jesus is the way, the TRUTH and the life.

Heb 13:8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

The fact of resurrection clearly demonstrates that death is not cessation of existence.

It is exactly the context ((one of the contexts)) which refutes annihilationism.

When looking at the nature of reformations restoring all things according to the law and prophets (sola scriptura) to a another time period the fifteenth century reformation is a carbon copy of the first century reformation, something that gets over looked .

The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:Which was a figure(parable) for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;Which stood only in meats and drinks, and divers washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed on them until the time of reformation. But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building;Heb 9:11

The principle that informs us whosoever does not have the born again "Spirit of Christ" does not belong to Him , a new spirit that will never die.

It would seem to confirm those who will never rise to new spirit life. The temporal corrupted spirit returns to the father as the flesh and blood return to the lifeless spiritless dust it was formed of .No promises to the dead who know nothing .

Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel. And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD. Eze 37:12

The fulfillment of the first resurrection which in all who die in Christ enters the Promised eternal Land, as a city prepared for His bride the church.

On the last day the second resurrection those reining with Christ and those asleep will both in the twinkling of the eye receive the promise of their new incorruptible bodies. Both groups will receive the end of their faith that comes from hearing God.

First Peter gives us some additional insight to those who do have the eternal Spirit of Christ .

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls. Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. 1Pe 1:9

Much confusion comes in when men apply Pentecost as to those who are born again as if the Spirit of Christ did not live in the Old Testament saints .The promised glory of His grace spoken of in 1 Peter 1:11 came as the words... “it is finished” were announced.

Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Now when the centurion, and they that were with him, watching Jesus, saw the earthquake, and those things that were done, they feared greatly, saying, Truly this was the Son of God. Mat 27:50
