Easter is a commonly celebrated and debated holiday. Easter is also linked to passover a Jewish holy day referring to the symbolism of passing from death to life.It is said Jesus rose from the grave on easter Sunday also many debate on whether it was saturday or sunday.
Generally Easter is to celebrating Jesus rising from the dead however for most people while they may this in the back of their minds it's really about all the normal easter customs. The bunny is the main symbolism of easter and some say this is because in Genesis 1: 28 it states God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground. saying that since Jesus was the second adam then from his spiritual seed many of his children will be fruitful and multiply just like how a Rabbit has many many children.

This is of course mere speculation and can appear to have a little biblical background to it however it is only speculation it was never proven to be biblically true. Studies have shown that Easter does have many many biblical references but studies have also shown that it also has just as many pagan references as well.

Some people greatly discourage celebrating it even going so far as to condemn others for celebrating it others celebrate it in their own way apart from the regular customs having nothing to do with bunnies or easter eggs but rather spending time with family and even doing bible studies and pondering the meaning of rising from the grave both in their own lives and in Jesus's other people simply have fun eat lunch and let the kids open their egg baskets.

Easter can be many things and can mean many things to many people, depending on what you believe and what you perceive things to be it can be a joyous occasion or a very dull and gloomy one. But regardless of what it is to you my statement to all who are reading this is to be fruitful and multiply and continue to make many many more children of God, remembering the symbolism of you once were dead and now you are alive sow the spiritual seed that was sown in you and giving the life that brought Jesus back from the grave which he then passed on to you so that you may also pass this life on to those who are still in the grave.

Be a spiritual bunny

God calls his people sheep, though I don't condemn those who celebrate Easter if we are speaking biblically i'd rather be a spiritual sheep than a bunny.

Happy Easter! I do prefer to call it Resurrection Sunday :) Don't forget that the Jewish means of marking days means the 24 hour day starts at evening, so what we might call Saturday night is the beginning of the first day of the week to a Jew. Yeah, it gets confusing :p Even the hours are marked differently depending which gospel writer you are reading. For instance, in Mark, when he says at the third hour, it is nine o'clock in the morning. The sixth hour is noon, and the ninth hour is three in the afternoon. Please remember also that chocolate is good any day of the week :D

My only problem with Easter is the chocolate bunnies not because it gives the kids an uncontrollable sugar high and they run around screaming and yelling but because my dog loves chocolate he is always trying to eat it but it makes him sick and anytime someone has chocolate he can smell it and is like

chocolate-pug-meme.jpg

He is pretty smart to he knows the kids will leave it around or drop it so i have watch him like a hawk

Chocolate can kill dogs :( If it is a small amount of the cheap stuff kids
might normally eat it will not cause much if any damage, but the high
octane dark chocolate true chocolate lovers crave? Different story :D

Happy Resurrection Day!!!

I view passover as a symbol of God taking the life of His firstborn, like He did in Egypt. Because Jesus was made sin for us and took the punishment for it. It has a dual meaning, the passover lamb saved the lives of the firstborn of Israel, yet the Angel of Death took the lives of the firstborn of Egypt. When you eat the sader meal it really give you a good idea of Christ death. The bitter herbs made me think of the flames of hell and how He saves us from them.

Happy Resurrection Sunday!

On Thursday, we attended a Seder or Passover meal. All the elements were shown as foreshadowing Christ. Last night, we attended a Peacemeal, and interactive music and drama presentation with two churches. The other church is a ministry to reach the poor, an inner city church we often support in their ministry.

The entire Peacemeal was amazing! It went through the Last Supper, or Passover meal, into Christ's betrayal, death and resurrection, but done in a way that was modernized (eg Pete and Tommy) and a complete recitation of the gospel for all the unbelievers in attendance. We had a drug addict, dry for 112 days, sitting at our table and it was wonderful sharing the gospel with him. His "higher power" really needed to be changed to Jesus, and I was able to share my testimony and the gospel personally.

Tomorrow, of course, is Resurrection Sunday! I can hardly wait! We have such a joyful and loving church, it will be wonderful to be in God's presence, remembering his death, and resurrection!

Praise God - He is risen! He is risen indeed!
