Which are you guilty of?

(There......does that make y'all feel better?)

Proverbs 14:30 - A sound heart [is] the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Proverbs 23:17 - Let not thine heart envy sinners: but [be thou] in the fear of the LORD all the day long.

Galatians 5:19-21 - Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are [these]; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, (Read More...)

1 Peter 2:1 - Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

Galatians 5:26 - Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Proverbs 24:1 - Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

Titus 3:3 - For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, [and] hating one another.

1 Corinthians 13:4 - Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,

James 3:16 - For where envying and strife [is], there [is] confusion and every evil work.

Mark 7:20-23 - And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. (Read More...)

1 Timothy 6:4 - He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

All this seems its rooted in the nature of mankind, and I know that in and of myself I haven't the slightest inclination against even the basest of sin, He alone empowers me to overcome the flesh. He will not do it however unless ,every single day I willingly yield my will and desires to Him in a loving obedience based on trust, trust can only be cultivated if exercised, its not easy.... the flesh is tenacious and seeks to have mastery over our spirit. The good news is, if our spirit be subject to His Spirit the flesh has no power it dyes. the problem is too many believe this is a one time thing, the scripture however teaches something different, we must take up our cross DAILY and follow Him, its not some one time prayer, its not memorizing bible verses, its not attending church on the appointed days, it is a living daily relationship, an active walk with our beloved redeemer who died so we could live in the newness of life, not some mamby pamby religious form, but a powerful and dynamic life changing walk. before the fall Adam and Eve walked with Him in the cool of the evening, every day so we must walk with Him, he desires a real relationship, not some form of godliness wrought out in our own strength. but a newness of character wrought in the power of the Holy Spirit, guided by truth. (prov.3:5-6) he is the only way (psalm 118:8) His great love for us will never compel Him to force us to serve Him, but rather He would rather us return that love in trust and a daily walk in submission to His will for us, if we do this, gret and awesome things will happen. not only in our lives but the lives of all we touch...

Envy and jealousy in the hearts of religious hierarchy kept me out of the ministry.
See: 'which pastor'.

But it was God's plan to take me into the wilderness to 'learn of Him', and discover why things are the way they are.

Pride and envy are rampant in the religious precincts. All my other threads cover why.

What does 'which pastor' mean? It's not a link to anything.

"Envy and jealousy" didn't keep Paul from ministering to the Corinthians...nor should it stop any true minister of God.

Yet, you have a passing resemblance to Captain Pickard!
Hope I haven't made you feel jealous! ;)
