What do I do?
Exegete verses?

That's what you're SUPPOSED to do.
Not make up a concept and THEN look for verses to back it up.

You read verses and THEN come up with the doctrine.

Are you going to do Timothy??
I already have.
I think you forgot to read it, or it didn't jive with your belief system so you discarded it.
AHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAH this is funny.....very accurate description of what you do....you would not know how to EXEGETE your way around a WALMART much less scripture....!

I will leave a couple of things just for others reading this horrid thread so that they can be assured of they are safe in Christ.

Never take an obscure scripture that seems to "contradict" what the many very clear scriptures say on a subject. It means we are not interpreting it correctly in the light of the finished work of Christ.

Here is one thing to consider...

Remember too that the Greek word for "deny is also shown to mean contradict". If we say something that is not true - Jesus will "contradict" us. If we say that Jesus will not save us and keep us - He will "contradict" that statement.

arneomai - to deny

Please list strong's explanation for the word DENY.
Thanks.

Oh. And this is not a horrid thread.
It's a very enlightening thread.

And no one here is NOT preaching God's love.
It's more like a warning to STAY IN HIS LOVE AND NEVER DEPART IT.

Quite a difference...

perhaps from <G1> (a) (as a negative particle) and the middle of <G4483> (rheo); to contradict,

Uh, excuse me, but righteousness is something YOU DO, 1 John 3-7

Um forgive me, but righteousness is something Jesus did (1 cor 1: 30, 2 Cor 5: 21)

Our righteousness is seen by God as filthy rags (bloody)

Forgiveness comes on account of Jesus being the propitiation (mercy seat) for sin, when a full departure and clearing from wrong doing in repentance is made, trhen the Father grants reconciliation and restore to favour.....Solomon said he that confesses and forsakes his sin shall find mercy...
Forgiveness is granted when the blood is sprinkled on the mercy seat. That way the crimes against us (the tablets, the rod that budded and the mannah) can not be seen.

Forgiveness can only be given when atonement is made. Atonement is made by sacrifice. "without the shedding of blood, there can be no forgiveness"

A modern prayer from those who deny scripture...Hilarious if not so true!

JESUS....I know you cannot keep your word, I know you can deny yourself, I know you meant temporary when you said eternal, I know you are weak and cannot finish what you started, I know that you are to weak to do anything everlasting and you made a mistake to inspire the writers to use verb tense that supports the word eternal, I know that the ENGLISH translators knew more that the men you supposedly inspired blah blah blah blah blah

2 Timothy 2:11-13 (NASB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] It is a trustworthy statement: For if we died with Him, we will also live with Him;
[SUP]12 [/SUP] If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
[SUP]13 [/SUP] If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself.

1. Yeah. If you don't know Greek, you just CANNOT read the bible.

THIS IS VERY ENCOURAGING TO NEW CHRISTIANS, I'M SURE.

2. You're right about the obscure verse. Like, for instance, ALL THE VERSES ABOUT BEING SEALED.

Could YOU do what I did, please?

List all the verses that say YOU CANNOT LOSE YOUR SALVATION. IN SO MANY WORDS PLEASE.

All my verses say exactly what i SAID they do.

Thanks.

Mr. Marine Man
I like your uniform.

I'd like you too, if you'd just LIST SCRIPTURE.

Instead of just saying what you like your ears to hear.

God COMMANDS ALL MEN everywhere to REPENT Acts 17-30

Repentance is not a gift, its a commandment of God...Or as Jesus said; repent or perish.....

yep. When will people who are rejecting the gospel of Christ going to repent?

repent is a gift. If jesus did not do what he did, No one could repent. they would all die in their sin.

You love talking to each other on this forum.
Do you know that it's not even allowed on some forums.

How's about addressing the person of whom you are speaking?
That would be considerate of you and in keeping with Mathew 5:3...

Now I know your full of it...the bible said ALL are liars except God or is that another verse you can twist away?
That's so sweet of you.

Kind of reminds me of when boys used to chase me around in elementary school.
I think you really LOVE ME but don't know how to show it.

Ummm, I don't read the Greek language. But I CAN read the bible just fine, in English. :)

As for willybob saying that righteousness is something WE do, he is sorely mistaken. As EG stated, righteousness is what JESUS did, and does. :) The bible says that NONE are righteous. That's right, no one, not even one. If WE were righteous, we would ALSO be SINLESS. But we live in a fallen world, so we are nothing but dirty, unrighteous sinners.

The Greek word for "repent" is "metanoia" (noun) and "matanoeo" (verb) you see as defined in the Strongs #3340, 3341: to think differently or afterwards, reconsider. After thought, change of mind. Repentance basically means a "change of mind" and the context must determine what is involved in this change of mind. Where salvation is in view, repentance unto salvation actually precedes saving faith in Christ and is not a totally separate act from faith. It is actually the same coin with two sides. Repentance is on one side, what you change your mind about and faith in Christ is on the positive side, the new direction of this change of mind. *Repentance and faith are two sides of the same experience of being brought to Christ.

The Bible also tells us that true repentance will result in a change of actions. Acts 26:20 declares, "I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds." This is the fruit of repentance (Matthew 3:8), not the essence of repentance. I have heard certain people say, "If you want to be saved, repent of your sins, turn from your sins." If turning from your sins means to stop sinning, then people can only be saved if they stop sinning. And it is unlikely that anyone has ever been saved, since we don't know anyone who has ever completely stopped sinning.

so much for faith without works..lol

Repent and faith is the power of works.. I love Heb 11 I a great window of what true faith performs

I Always tell the truth.

It's sooooo difficult to remember lies...
here we go, here it comes- next you be saying you ' only speak the words of God ". then you will be saying you do not sin. so go ahead, save all the drama, and say what you really think, like you your new buddy peter, and all his pure and righteous walk lies.
