I have read all of almost every post on this thread, I'm gratefull to all who posted and shared their perspective. I have learned a great deal. Sin must stop, but Christ said "without me ye can do nothing" and we we know that we can do all things through Him who strengthens us. We are to be lights to the world, and this is not possible if we follow after the flesh. Thank you again, I now hhave new things to think over

Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord and He shall lift you up,
higher and higher,
And he, AND HE , shall lift you up, higher, and, higher, and, He
shall lift you up.

I see you 'liked' that other song I said in a 'prayer request' thread. The Lord leads, and, so now you have song and verse. :)

And, yes, God will strengthen us, many years ago I picked as my class verse for high school that verse, phil. 4:13. And, yes, with Christ, for getting through grief or getting to goals, we can do all things through Christ who is our strength. He is our Song too.

Make Him be your everything, 2sparrows, have the faith that you can do 'that,'and do things like immersion of yourself in His Word to work that Truth into your life, and, prayer ceaselessly, Love others as Christ Loved us, and, you will be content, hey, that's what Paul said isn't it in Phil. 4:12, whaddyaknow, but yes, God is good, and, with Him you will lack nothing :)

I never once said that a sinner has to become perfect and spotless to make themselves worthy before they can pray to God and be saved.

I said that a sinner must repent and forsake all known sin before forgiveness is granted..
Hello Skinsky7. am I missing something in what you are writing\? Is it possible to just clarify what you mean here? there is no need to re post the scriptures, as i have read this thread but i just wondered which of these two statements you mean/ It seems clear you are saying a sinner must forsake all sin making them spotless and perfect before they are worthy to be forgiven but then you said thats not what you teach. It clearly is though from what i have read on your wrting.. Forgiveness is not equal to salvation then? what does the word Justify mean when used in the Bible?

Here is a great article for all of you who buy into the saved IN sin gospel, I am a poor sinner saved by grace etc... Compliments of standingthegap.org..

Because all have Sinned!

The Doctrine of Original Sin can only be proven by Conjecture. NOTHING in Scripture states exclusively that the Nature of man was corrupted in Adam and then handed down to his posterity. The false teachers like to use Romans5:12 to Suggest that Sin was handed down to all men. BUT the Passage merely states that Death spread to all men, Because ALL SINNED! Placing the responsibility of the sin directly where it was intended to be placed. On the free will choice of man to CHOOSE to Sin and take the similar path of Adam in rebellion.
does ALL mean all? What difference does it make then you can deny original sin if you want to but the Bible makes it plain all have sinned. So what? Using your idea, alll choose to follow adam, and all includes you and me both. So what difference does your doctrine make in the end? None that I can see. It loooks like you must deny original sin so you can claim to be without sin by your own free will. Is that true?

These arguments just get crazier by minute

why do fruit trees produce fruit? because they are fruit trees. They don't suddenly BECOME a fruit tree by deciding to sprout fruit.

likewise, why do the faithful do good works? because they are faithful. The works themselves don't make them faithful, they were already that way to begin with.

on the other side of that, however... what if a fruit tree stops producing fruit? at that point, it's a pretty lousy fruit tree, isn't it?
good works are the natural result of faith in Christ, our 'fruit'. not the other way around.

Lots of words and explanations just to confuse what the scriptures plainly say...

Eph 2:8-9 "...by Grace you have been saved through faith...NOT OF WORKS...".

Paul knew he wasn't justified by offering God his filthy rags, even as a follower of Christ:

1Cr 4:4 "For I know of nothing against myself, YET I AM NOT JUSTIFIED BY THIS; but He who judges me is the Lord."
