Jesus didnt eat pork. so....................
Brain freeze is right these were gentiles and the man persuaded Jesus to stay and He would not, but told the man to go and tell the people of the city what had happened to him. In other words "testify"

Jesus sent the unclean spirits into the 2000 pigs because it's a prophecy of the unclean spirits leaving Israel and entering into the Gentiles. This I think is the falling away of the Gentiles. The number 2 in the bible almost always represents the Gentile church.

In Matthew the demons possess two men; in Mark it mentions only one demon possessed man.

Please elaborate, the gentile had not yet started, not until Paul.
Right the Gentile church had not started but Jesus casting the unclean spirits into the 2000 pigs was a foreshadow of something that would happen later. For the last 2000 years Israel has been possessed by unclean spirits, the possessed man in the story represents Israel. At some time in the future which I think is right now, the unclean spirits will come out of Israel and enter the Gentiles... the times of the Gentiles will be up which I believe is the cause of the great falling away.

Okay, I can go along with that, seeing that most American churches have abandoned the cross and have embraced psychology.

The reason he was hard to deal with for a lot of people.

It's not every day that you see someone that sincere in faith and pure of heart come along to the point that even demons feel convicted when he comes around.

Jesus had a tendency to see the good even in the lowliest of sinners. It was that love, that innocence and the wisdom coming from his heart through his mouth that made him who he was socially (of course at the core of it was that he had the Holy Spirit in his DNA)... it was his willingness to abide in his calling no matter what that divided opinions about him.

He was just doing his job, walking around looking for ways to serve when he came upon *rolls 2d8* ...

Just struck me as interesting, friend.

Right good words, another thought on the opening thread is the men who had the demons didn't run to the water it was the pigs probably the way nature is will take off to the water pretty strong conviction.

I think this demonstrates the destructive nature of the demons. They destroy whatever they inhabit.
