I want to apologize to Jonathan for saying what I did, not knowing he has also experienced horrible violence. I would imagine a lot of his rigidity and dogmatism come from being raised by a step-father like that.

I hope you are a good husband and keep on being one.

However, you do not have a special revelation of the Bible and obeying God that the rest of us do not have. No one said that living is perfect in this world. Jesus came to reconcile us to the Father. I fear the problem is that your words are not ones of reconciliation.

"For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died;' 2 Cor. 5:14

"[SUP]17 [/SUP]Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. [SUP]18 [/SUP]All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation; [SUP]19 [/SUP]that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation. [SUP]20 [/SUP]Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
[SUP]21 [/SUP]For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God." 2 Cor. 5:17-21

Are you truly being an ambassador of Christ? When you provoke people with stereotypes of which you know nothing about it is frustrating and tiring. A true ambassador of Christ has the ministry of reconciliation.

Do you have the ministry of reconciliation? I pray you will find it, as it is the message of the gospel.

Oh, and I guess I can forgive you, too!

National Institute of Justice estimates that 1.5 million women are victims of domestic violence each year. In that same year 835,000 men are abused by women. It is said that whereas every 21 seconds somewhere in America a woman is battered - but every 38 seconds somewhere in America a man is battered.

Men usually don't report the abuse. Men just don't tell, opting to keep it a secret from everyone around them. To them it's embarrassing that they are being physically or mentally abused by a woman. They feel that most people won't believe them. They will make excuses for their injuries. Some of the feelings that they have and why they don't report it to the police is from shame, they are worried that the female will turn the table on them and say that they were abusing her, and thinking that no one will believe him.

Some men don't do anything about it because their self worth has been battered as well, and they feel that no one else would ever have them except the woman they are with and they would be alone for the rest of their lives. Some victims just don't want to make a change or they have small children that they want to stay and protect.

Just like divorce, it's BOTH's fault, MOST of the time , not ALL. But, there is ALWAYS an action that causes a RE-action.

Ther person who is ABUSING in the relationship / marriage IS probably MOST of the time, not ALL, but, a lot of the time is the subject of abuse, too, from that person's ACTION. It's human nature, we REACT to an ACT, both good and bad acts. That's why Love, God's way of doing things, His super, natural way of showing us the 'L' big letter Love IS so important for us to show to others. That way the only REaction of someone against us is going be DONE in the 'face' of Love.

There IS a reason that Jesus says for us to 'turn the other cheek' in Scripture. L-o-v-e. Love :)

FYI, most women don't report abuse, either. It's estimated that only about 30-40% of abuse (male or female) is ever reported.

Seriously, can we all just stop this pissing contest over who is the most mistreated?

You find reconciliation when you go back through all the hurts until you get to where you left love. Then blaze a new trail.

I am not free from Christ; I am His slave. You teach freedom from authority. I would not trade my bondage to Christ for a million women who could render a reason. Till the day I die I will believe His words, not yours. I am the head of my family because Christ is my head. Even when she does not obey I interceed for her and love her. When you marry a non Christian you have no one to speak to Christ for you.
i seriously did not get that from her post, read it again brother, and pray about it.
The Lord said, He who is abased will be humbled and He who is humble will be abase, the Only way to get all that the Lord wants for you in your life, that you may actually SEE HIM work in your life is to BE HUMBLE. It is a straight forward Biblical principle.

She was teaching on how men should treat women with the authority that GOD has given them.

Bad things happen to good people, that is a fact. I am so sorry for what happened , if I could ring their neck I would. But Girl get over it and sooner the better. do not let the devil bind you to it. The cross has set you free, and you are just as pure as the driven snow in the eyes of God and thats the the only eyes you need to be concerned with. Start praying and guess what God will give you a man that loves and cares for you. You are not the only one, many have walked in your shoes. Man up.
This actually reminded me of me, i did not see the fault or the harshness of what i used to tell people. I just bashed them with TRUTH, and forgot the LOVE part of it. Manning up is humbling down, JESUS was the MAN, and HE went down, and even died and went to Hell and rose again, thats meekness.

Now brother, The Lord does give wisdom, and indeed fills our hearts with compassion towards our fellow believers and Unbelievers. That i believe is what YOU NEED TO ASK GOD FOR..!!..
When you understand that, your level of faith is different, your trials different, your experiences different, your heart issues different, Do not impose your VIEWS on her, but CHRIST. and i gotta say i did not see CHRIST in that post....

God bless you!!

The Word of God is unchanging, even if the man was a beggar and the woman very rich.
Man still makes the decision but AFTER discussing and talking about it with the woman, and Both taking it to GOD to get the final answer..

I do not see what you see in the OP, maybe because i tend to want to see JESUS CHRIST in everything HIS children post, and Christ is in the MEANING OR INTENT of a thread, a speech or an idea preached or teach by HIS children. Not all can explain well, there could be language barriers, bad choice of words, but THE HEART of this thread was Godly.

The Truth preached without Love will never edify, matter fact it will offer up more and more resistance. But preached in Love, people will run out of words to speak. But when you post something that evokes a bad emotional response, and out of those who Willingly want to know Christ and want to get healed of their past, is that wisdom?

Jas 3:13 Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.

Jas 3:14 But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
Jas 3:15 This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
Jas 3:16 For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
Jas 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
Jas 3:18 And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

Gal 6:1 Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Gal 6:3 For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.
Gal 6:4 But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
Gal 6:5 For every man shall bear his own burden.

Gal 6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

I am quite capable of speaking to Christ myself....a man should NEVER take the place of Christ in a womans relationship with the Lord. As for being His slave, that is really good. As for me " no longer shall you call me "my master" but "my husband"......I walk with the Lord in love and total submission, moving on from that slave/master relationship to something much deeper.

I had to have this discussion with my wife when we first got married. I told her that I am not God. But, she still gave me burnt offerings every night. Then I sent her to Grandma and she fixed it. Thank God.

The first time I ask her to make grilled cheese, she put in the oven. I said no, you make it in a frying pan with butter. It had so much butter that bread would not turn brown. I couldn't believe it and she will tell you herself, it was amazing. Now she makes the best grilled cheese you ever ate. Thanks Grandma.

As much as I have sat studying in regards to this current thread I have also looked into the "other side" (for those who have accused me of being biased on this subject this one is for you). Having worked with troubled teenagers for the last 17 years I noticed there was a certain pattern with young guys in their passive behaviour...the only way I can describe it is they seemed "lost", not able to get clear direction in life or rise above situations. Having spent time with the Lord praying into this presenting issue and looking into studies there was a very clear link between "absent" fathers and young guys being "lost". When I say "absent" I dont mean just not there, left the family home, I mean also fathers that seemed to have checked out in life, sit in front of a TV all evening and not engaged with their children. Masculinity can ONLY be affirmed BY masculinity..no matter how good a mother is, this is something she cannot do for her sons. In world war 1, this tiny island of Britain sent 1000's upon 1000's of dads to war. The women were having to work 12 hour shifts in ammunition factories and young children, as young as 8 or 9 were sent to work in other factories. Many of those dads did not return leaving a MASSIVE gap in young boys lives (it had an effect on daughters too but in a different way). Boys were growing up NOT being affirmed in their masculinity. Not long after, we enter into Second world with an even bigger devastating effect on young men. Generations down the line we now see the effect of this. Men have grown up without being affirmed who in turn do not know how to affirm their sons and so the cycle continues. Satan has ripped the masculinity from men.

Our fight is not against flesh and blood, there is a much bigger war going on that steals kills and destroys ANYTHING that we were original made for.

Right at the start in my thread I asked women to pray for the men. My words still stand.

why didn't you "instruct" her on the proper way to prepare meals? Isn't that the role of the husband? To instruct their wives?

AMEN to that my Sister in Christ! Mine taught me how to cook...........unfortunately, she was a Southern gal, and her style of cooking is no longer accepted as "acceptable" by the politically correct among us.
