I read this earlier and they are right. As Christians, we are taught to overcome evil and hatred with good and love. The only way we can combat the reputation he left behind along with a few of his congregation is to continue being what Christians ought to be as demonstrated by Christ in the Bible.

I'm not so much happy that he's dead as much as I'm just happy he'll no longer be able to hurt other people, especially the children in his family and the families of diseased soldiers, gays, gay-rights activists, and victims of natural disasters.

I think I just found a downside to being an atheist... he ain't going to get what he deserves.

Phelps was actually excommunicated from the church he founded. The reason why was he expressed that those in the WBC should be kinder. It is apparent he gained some sense and saw the damage he had done, and was kicked out of his church.

Which would make all the condemnation of him all the more sadder.
Doesn't Luke 13:1-5 teach us that when something bad happens to others we should rather look to our own lives and see where we are going?

I think that's reasonable :)
Awesome.....I will say as a believer that no where in the scriptures does it command the children of God and or churches to do the things he led his group to do!
