Perhaps you should "find" your temper again, senor... Life's too short to get dragged down to that level.

Try not to let it get to you. People who are sanctimonious are only gratified by a passionate or righteously angry response. My philosophy with those kinds of folks is....have at it. They can go on for five...ten...fifteen years...and see how it works out. When they end up empty and isolated, they usually figure out that they might be the root of the problem.

Txroads,

You can't teach people about life or the Bible if they can't learn. They can't understand because they haven't had Biblical teaching. I assume that some of them don't go to church.

I was in a chatroom (not here) once while I was sick on Sunday and didn't go to church. I asked the users why they were in the chatroom instead of church and they said, "the chatroom is my church".

I can give people Biblical teaching or say, "the bible says this" but the verses don't mean anything to them because they don't know what it says. They have to learn the verses before they can understand. Until they understand, they will make wrong choices about what the Bible says.

It is important to teach them and to be patient. When I write to people online, I try to keep the arguments or disagreements not personal. In other words, we talk about the issue only. When we get personal, that is when people get mad or fight. When the topic turns personal, it is going to be a fight against individuals.

Religion runs rampant in this world Tex. The majority of believers are caught up in their OWN good.

It is refreshing to see that you can see it. Frustrating though? Yes.

I can't point you to the forums that would prove different because that would be poaching but there are people who are worse offline or just as bad as they are online.

Tex, I hear your frustration and I get it.

This website saddens me. It really does. day in, day out, it people who claim to be followers of Christ who act absolutely nothing like Him with all their petty arguing, one-upmanship, and twisting of Scripture taken out of context to try and make their points in stupid arguments they have merely to satisfy the desires of their own egos.

It's pathetic.

Now, I can't lump every single member here into that group, but there are a WHOLE LOT of two-faced turds on this site who, while they might have a few pieces of scripture at the ready, and they go to church every Sunday, are nothing but phonies. Fortunately, these losers are very easy to spot by their posts. In other words, they bear really crappy fruit, and the stench of it attracts attention. So, what shall we do? So we merely ignore them? No, that won't work, because like a petulant 3-year old girl who needs to be the center of attention, ignoring them doesn't work. You have to either pay them attention which reinforces their behavior, or you put them across your knee and spank their butts until they can't walk and send them on their way.

You, Tex, are one of the good folks I have found here amongst the muck. Let's both just hike up our hip waders and slog through the sewer until we find more good folks. When we do, we'll just hose the poop off of us like it don't matter, because...it don't.

Let me explain myself a little better then and shed a little light.... So far everybody that has posted on this thread is pretty much level headed enough that they know you respond to someone on the same level that they are on when you feel the need to "advise" them that something they said might need a little correcting.......
BUT WHAT YOU DON'T DO IS GANG UP ON A 15 YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL BY A 70 YR OLD, A 40 YR OLD AND HOWEVER OLD THE OTHER ONE WAS!!!!!!!!!....... SHE'S 15 AND OBVIOUSLY JUST NEED A LITTLE DIRECTION AND NOT A FLOGGING!!!!..... Her words " I'm going to delete my account.. I just wanted a little advise and was hoping I could find a Christian friend or two on here because they are hard to find out here"!!!!!!!!.........REALLY!!!..... REALLY!!.... DOES THAT MAKE YOU FEEL LIKE A BIG MAN NOW!!!!..... Ggrrrrrrr....... We still got hanging trees in Texas pardon my french!!!

Txroads I have been there, I have felt all you are feeling and believe me I wanted so bad to just lay it all on them I can't stand ppl like that but I couldn't allow my anger to continue because even I could tell that my anger even though I was angry for a good reason clouded my judgement and would make me act not Christ like at all. Anger is a tricky thing it's difficult to get rid of once it boils up and honestly I didn't want to get rid of it I wanted to let it rage and flow but that is not what love is that is not what we are called to be.

I am just as guilty for letting my rage take over on very rare occasions but in my heart I knew that God wanted me to still the waters. People like this will get to us but anger and responding in a unchrist like manner only fuels the fire only love and calmness can still the waters

This thread is so full of hypocrisy. People patting themselves on the back for not being like that.:eek::confused:

"I'm not as self-rightous as you, na-na-na"

What some people don't understand is that everyone gets accused of being self-righteous as a Christian. It comes with the territory. It was the very first thing I noticed after being converted. Show someone scripture and it cuts them pretty deep sometimes, so they will often return with something along the lines of "THAT'S IT I'VE DONE HAD IT AND I'M GONNA SPEAK MY MIND!!... THAT'S IT.... I'VE HAD IT WITH ALL THESE SELF-RIGHTEOUS POMPAS INDIVIDUALS WHO THINK THAT JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE A LITTLE KNOWLEDGE THEY CAN SPEAK TO FOLKS ANY WAY THEY WANT AND THEN WANT TO HIDE BEHIND SCRIPTURE TO VALIDATE THEIR ARROGANCE!!!!"

Just sayin.

You know the one thing that bothers me and will for days is seeing those words by that little girl..... WHAT THE HECK kind of impression is to give to someone that young... She's 15 and was obviously excited about something she felt God did for her.... You know, at least she thought God did it!!..........

Well, big difference is, I'll be the first to admit I'm a hypocrite. Doesn't mean I'm not correct for calling out the phonies on their BS. I can say this because unlike most people, I'll say right to anyone's face anything I say online...and I can back it up in both instances.

I am not innocent of being a hypocrite and of acting unchrist like I have on occasions lashed back when I shouldn't have but I have seen more times than I wish to remember how many so called loving christians beat others I have been attacked severely and it was called righteous judgement I have seen ppl who are hurting inside being attacked and scared away by those who take the name Christian and love it's brutal. When I see the wounded and the hurting being attacked the rage builds up and it takes all I have to still it and respond in a loving christ like manner and to turn my anger into love. Everyone has slips up and sometimes anger gets the best of us so his outrage is understandable

My sentiment exactly.
