Those were curses pronounced under the Mosaic Law.
Jesus became a curse and bore them on our behalf...

Galatians 3:13 (NET) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us (because it is written, “Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree”)

The curses still are in tact for those who reject any or all of God's Word.

I've known people who have had generational curses broken. God is a generational God, he blesses many generations if one family is righteous, but one person's sin can follow their family for many generations.

I do believe in generational curses and saw this just in my immediate family. My father was a "Sunday school teacher", got along with kids really good - later I found out he was a pedophile. My brother was abusive to me and my sisters (incestual) which caused each of us trouble in relationships - me more than the younger sisters. My father's mother committed suicide . . . my brother committed suicide. Sometimes I wish I could see how far back these things had come from but there would actually be no profit in it.

My mother was very selfish - I find myself to be also and that is one area I have to be really aware of in my life and stay on top of. These things (tendencies which I believe are spiritually influenced) can be broken through true faith in Jesus Christ and I believe are now broken within my immediate family. Thank you God! :)

It is certainly true that curses can be broken, not by the underworld's spirit, but by the everlasting word of our Almighty God, "Master YHWH" and His Son, our Savior Jesus the true Christ "Messiah." Believing in all of His word is the key to break the curse. It's an individual choice.

No. Believing the Gospel breaks the curse. It's broken in Christ...one doesn't have to know all the word first...

Believing in the only begotten Son of God, confessing Jesus as Lord and believing God raised him from the dead, i.e. being born again of the Spirit breaks the adversary's hold on anyone - even if only one parent is born again - the children are covered. Instructing children in the way they should go continues the healing within a family.

Are you communicating with "maryjane" or some of her relatives?

How can your statement disagree with mine?

What do you all think about generational curses? Are there driving factors that influence or keep us oppressed due to something our ancestors have done?
Absolutely NO such thing!

Each individual is responsible for their OWN sin, NOT someone else's! Deut 24v16, Ezek 18v18-20

Exodus 34v7: "visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation," is more fully written in Deut 5v9 (and Exodus 20v5): "Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me."

It is ONLY if the son (or daughter) follows in the sin of their father (or mother) that they come under the curse of the law. Rom 3v13

No, the Lord judges each of us on our own merits.
