For those of you who believe that if you have faith you'll be healed, what happens when you or someone you love gets cancer? Do you lose your faith altogether? Think your faith wasn't enough? God bless you that you've never been sick or had chronic pain. I guess my faith isn't enough. It must have been someone else's faith that saved me 20 years ago from death, but my remaining pain is probably because of my own lack of faith. Personally, i believe God has a purpose in this. I believe if it was in His will, He would heal me, but for some reason it's not. I'll be free of pain and sorrow in heaven. Until then, I'll praise Him and do my best to share His love.

But if the Gift of healing means Spiritual healing then it works for everyone.
If the gift of healing was only spiritual and not intended to manifest in the physical realm in our physical bodies then WHY would the Holy Spirit distribute the gift of healing as the Body of Christ has need of it in the physical realm on planet Earth????!!!!!

The same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead will also raise ours AND quicken our mortal bodies.

Our mortal bodies get weak and fatigued from life….we’re not dead yet but, we need to be quickened…. helped, given strength to do the works of God, finish our race.

I certainly believe that Jesus can cure any disease,But if the patient's prayer is not answered, should he give up his faith?
No.
As I said, what Jesus wants to heal is our spiritual life, and the gift is Holy spirit,
This is life about spiritual thing, means new life in kingdom of God.

I remember I said before that Jesus cured my myopia briefly. At that time, I wondered why he did it, but now I understand.

Now I'm still myopia. then you answer me why?

Look up Derek Prince and “barriers to healing.”

The gift of healing needs to be flowing freely in the Body of Christ but cannot when the Holy Spirit is grieved, quenched, neglected or resisted.

There are so many dynamics to Healing.

When we're sick, we ask "Why am I sick?" and "How do I get well?"

The WHY am I sick? has so many answers....

- it can be for God's Glory; or

- Sin, because of rebellion to God and Unbelief and Unforgiveness

- Using my own words and speaking negative over myself

- Defiling our body as the Temple of the Holy Spirit

- Putting ourselves under ungodly authority over us

- There's more whys I am sure but this is all I got so far.

The HOW do I get well? question has a few answers...

- Faith is key and is mostly how we receive from God; Faith is supernatural in nature meaning it doesn't come from the physical realm or human reasoning, it comes from the Heavenly realm - from God. Understanding certain knowledge that we absolutely know is TRUE and WILL HAPPEN, Truth is revealed to us and understood from hearing the Word of God.

- God simply has compassion on us;

- Humble ourselves, repent with sorrow over our sin, turn away from our wicked ways and seek God and His Ways;

- Denounce any curses we have ignorantly or foolishly spoken over ourselves;

- Repent for not taking care of our bodies as the Temple of the Holy Spirit and learn to eat right, exercise, get proper sleep, fast and pray, learning to sit still in God's Presence.....waiting for His touch.

"WHAT” is Healing?

Healing is...

Life
Blessed
Mercy
Grace
Supernatural
Gift from God
Restoring by God
Reconciled to God
Bitter becomes sweet
Old becomes new
Where there was death, there is now Life

Have you ever heard of people who don't go to the hospital because they believe that Jesus can cure diseases? Of course, this may be a good way for the church to win people to believe in Jesus, but some people don't think so. If they don't go to the hospital when they are sick, they probably have a bad brain, and they will ask:"Why they believe in such a Jesus?"

A way to get people to believe in Jesus doesn't work for others.........
I am not worried about those people The bible says those who are sick need a physician. God uses Doctors to complement HIS Healing they are gifts. Yet God does Heal without them, and those just like Jesus healed will all die a physical death should HE tarry. Bible and Faith is what I stand for Not K. Copeland, not youtube preachers, or any other those will use to make the word of God to no effect.

Overemphasizing the cure of disease makes the word of God to no effect, this is the fact..But the Gift of healing means Spiritual healing it works for everyone.

It is also an extreme "heresy" to only express faith by curing diseases alone..........Faith is not only about this.

not true. the opinion of overemphasizing the gift of healing to mean only spiritual is unbiblical when Jesus was and is concerned about the body soul, and spirit of man. spiritual healing doesn't work for everyone because faith is involved for that to happen which many reject because they can't see it. This is why Jesus said believe me or believe the works that I do which were healings. The word of God was confirmed as it is today.

Not everyone has diseases that cannot be cured physically, but everyone has diseases that need to be cured mentally.

there were many who had no faith in Him and did not expect any healing, yet He simply healed them. The man who was blind from birth outside the temple is in fact a good example of one who had no expectations
What, in the text, exactly, allows you to teach that this man had no faith? And, who are the "many" that you're teaching about?

ok, so the mental disease which is a cognitive dilemma in which the intellect of the person needs to be healed is spiritual healing?
The intellect of man comes from the brain which is flesh, not spirit. Sin is the spiritual disease that breaks out in the body for which all men die a physical death. But Eternal life is a gift from God that is received by faith not human rationale but the word of God. the only reason why we do not see the move of God as some would like to see is for the following reasons.

  1. the love of many has waxed cold.
  2. we have forgotten God days without number.
  3. no faith and disobedience.
  4. No reverence for the word of God.
  5. we are in the season of the last days.
  6. the church has embraced secular humanism and human reasoning over faith and the power of the Holy Spirit.
  7. the church is carnal and worldly.

it is literal. Jesus is a life with a real body that we will be able to touch. We do not hold to Gnosticism.
Correct, but this is not yet! It is when Jesus returns or we die.
And solong we are in our weakly body, with all his weaknesses and pains.

Nope, if we talk about physical healing of our body then the apostle Paul is the best example to realize that it is not a question of faith!!

Hello @Aidan1

Did you truly read my post and understand it?

Faith is one way we can receive physical healing but Faith is not the ONLY way we receive our physical healing.

God can just simply have compassion on us or not have compassion on us. God alone is God.(y)

You are more than welcome to accept sickness and disease all you want. No here is saying one will not get sick.

How would you feel when visiting a church and after worship the pastor steps on stage and begins to pray fervently saying in this room for anyone with back pain be healed, start moving in ways that would normally hurt.

I wasn't healed but if I'm honest I doubt not that God can heal but the concept of demanding it. After all it is God's will.

Other Christians will say it is by faith that we are healed. As Jesus once said by your faith the blind man was healed.

So let's discuss this. Is it by faith, God's will, a calling to heal, or a mixture of the three making the gift of healing prevalent today?

Maybe I lacked enough faith as I wasn't expecting to be healed and wasn't there looking to be healed. Maybe the pastor lacks the calling. Or God simply said no or not yet.

What are your thoughts?
Some people have hardly any mental strongholds in their minds. I have noticed that it's often easier for non christians to recieve healing because they aren't hoarded by religious doctrine or accountable for renewing their minds yet.

I know for me i didn't recieve healing until i started to operate from a different foundation using my mind/imagination as evidence instead of the physical. I think i told you in another post how i imagined myself better and how i kept simulating it in my mind over and over then trying it in the natural day by day and eventually it proved itself right and i was healed. When the healing came it wasn't even an amazing miracle or felt like some glorious transition from sick to healed, i almost didn't recognize it, it was more like "here's some support for what you've already believed".... I think it's because you're mind and life are not already accepting or open to recieve it, it can make it hard. It's like if you have been struggling with a disease for years that's also years of mentally conforming your imagination to the sickness. I know some people who are so conformed to their diseases that they identify as them and any other life for them would be impossible.

Consider blind Bartimaeus, he threw off his identity (that blind persons cloak/coat) before running up to Jesus, because that's who he was "blind Bartimaeus" but he was ready to be someone else.

You can heal, it's just changing your mind and habits that might be hard, especially if you're commited to thinking and living to pain in your mind.

I remember when i was sick i pretty much went through the same things you did, asking for prayer nothing happened, prayed for myself nothing again. Tried to make myself extra righteous and clean and noble but nope, tried sinning extra hard to get Gods attention but nope again. I honestly felt abandoned and like the lyrics to the song called God is a Strangely Absent Father by Assemblage 23.

For some reason i just got it in my mind to just imagine living healed and simulating it day by day, to be honest it seemed like idiotic pretending and i did it obediently but sarcastically for 3 days before i started to notice subtle changes, not in the physical but in my spirit or something. Slowly the thoughts became more and more acceptable and when i was healed on the 5th day i almost didn't recognize it.

Hebrews 11 1 says that faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen. Faith in a nutshell is your imagination or at best it's using your imagination/mind which is unseen as it's foundation. Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. ....I took that as to work on my mind first and then He can fill in the gaps, and He did. It's like if i can conform myself/mind and life to the truth of your healing i'll be able to better accept/recieve it because praying over and over again just wasn't working.

Physical healing is no promiss made for Christians.
We all suffer under the sinfall in Genesis 3.
We know that Jesus healed all people which came to him, but according John 20.31 Jesus did these for to proof that he is the son of God. Similar we find in the historie healings mostly in combination with preaching the gospel.
In today life we find healings as Gods respond for prayers and we find healings for to proof the gospel,
We also find that God is not giving healing as response of prayer ( famous example is Paul)
What i believe is that for a Christian not to be healed is not a question of lack on faith ( without faith in God he would not be a Christian ) and also not a lack of Gods love!
Sometimes its difficult to understand. But to trust in the Lord in a healthy or sick body reveals our faith in and love to God.
And it can be a witness for others to trust in God.
Sickness belongs through the sinfall to our fallen nature and to our body.
All people which were physical healed through Jesus and the apostles died finaly. And the most of them because of any deseases of the body.
The brothers and sisters which were healed in the past died because of a deseases or collaps of the body.

Different when we speak about our soul which will enter the eternity and will receive a new unmortal body. Jesus saves our soul from be separatet from God for eternity. He gave us life, he heals our soul!
All glory to Him alone!
This is what the bible says.

Matt. 8. 16-17
That evening they brought to Him many who were possessed with demons and He cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick. This was to fulfil what was spoken by Isaiah the prophet "He took our infirmities and bore our diseases"

Therefore healing is part of the atonement foretold in Isaiah 53.

Is there any question ever that He bare our sins in His own body? Could anyone come to Christ earnestly seeking pardon be turned away? God forbid you say, He will never turn away the sinner who submits to Him, there is no record that He ever did.

The promise for healing is right there alongside it. Did anyone come to Him for healing and were disappointed?

So what has changed? simply what is changed is the gospel that is preached.

If you had entered a 14th century church you would witness little or none of the gospel being preached. Now a better gospel is preached.

The gospel cannot be improved upon but the preaching of it can.

Not everyone has diseases that cannot be cured physically, but everyone has diseases that need to be cured mentally.
God and faith In Him to heal can be done to every disease.
