Psalm 69
9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.
.....
20 Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none.

21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap.
23 Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake.
24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded.
27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.

I suppose the question is, are there two elections?

Rom 11:5
Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Is Paul implying that there is also another election, the election of Wrath?

big question....take it slowly guys!!

(It doesn't bother me because I think God reconciles us all in the end - and even if you cannot accept that, by Wrath is meant physical destruction, Gehenna. It does not mean spiritual destruction, in fact quite the opposite. Anyhow, i hope we don't get too hung up on predestination stuff).

As a bystander, please define "their" and "them" in your post I quoted-?

I say no but that's just my opinion. I don't see flesh Israel being chosen for anything other than - the bloodline of Jesus, the recieving of the law, charge over the oracles of God etc. For that, yes they were elect, but that's as far as it goes in my opinion. Do you see more?

To the chief Musician upon Shoshannim, A Psalm of David.

21They gave me[David] also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.

This does not say this is about Christ on the cross.

The un-chosen are also the children of God. No less, no more :)-
Children of God in this respect.

Romans 9:8 KJV
That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.

That was the Holy Spirit prophesying through David.

In Exodus 19:6 God tells Israel they are a Nation of Priests and a Holy Nation.

Deuteronomy 4 Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the Lord God of your fathers giveth you.
5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the Lord my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the Lord our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

The whole idea was for Israel to be the Priestly Nation, ministering to ALL nations.

Genesis 12 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

The great nation God had in his mind, I think, was a Nation of Priests.

This is off the subject but I'm trying to figure out if all of Israel were Jews.

Jews are descendants of two of the Israelite tribes: Judah and Benjamin but what about the other 10?

Abraham was a father of many nations, flesh Israel being one and spiritual Israel being another. Is the nation of Priests, that holy nation talking about flesh Israel or spiritual Israel? and how can we know?

The many nations is different.

This is the Promise, Chapter 12. A Great Nation.

SPIRITUAL ISRAEL LOL

I don't know what kind of priests you hang out with bro...

But spiritual and physical Israel are not mutually exclusive.

At one point the only spiritual Israel was within physical Israel.

No, it's not off topic at all Awakened.

Israel was all 12/13 tribes.
