he wasnt joking

hes obviously very hurt

I've been hurt by men

I don't lump them all in the same potatoe sack and toss them into the nearest gator infested swamp

no excuse for talking about beating a woman when so many women have been beaten by men

would be nice if everyone decided to adult today

Can we get back to the topic on hand and can some bible-corrector answer:

What evidence is there that this commandment was only during that culture and not inspired by the Holy Ghost for all the churches of all time?

Modern women are horrible. I find it staggering that men don't beat sense in to women any more.
Thus saith the tree of the knowledge of good and evil...evil has spoketh.

Clarifying...not calling you evil Zen.

not defending what he said

but he HAS narrowed it down to a horrible group of women who have no decency and probably didnt get disciplined
I would count you also in the same class, since you have consistently attempted to bait me by implying that I'm upset or crying. This isn't 5th grade any more. I suspect that you were raised by a single mother, since you have defended women at every opportunity like you feel it's somehow honorable, and are offended by the subject of modern women and fatherless children.

That makes no sense. Paul is not the mosaic law. And all of Paul's epistles were written after Jesus had died so how were they abolished through Jesus?
Thats retarded.

Jesus prevented the woman caught in adultery from being stoned but this dude wants to hurt women because he has taken offense

when you choose to be this kind of person, it is evident in your entire attitude as we can see in his posts

youre wrong

but i saw how lacking you are in understanding

i can see how you jumped on the opportunity to lash out at "feminists" on a christian site and justify violence against women

sorry if you seem like an emotional cupcake to me

well you deleted your post noname, but it was picked up on, so I'll respond

I also find 'a horrible group of women' offensive

I normally think you make alot of sense but something very vulgar has crept into this thread and it needs to be told it is not acceptable

there is absolutely NO excuse for ANY kind of comment that degrades women in general and beating them? that is sick

*Briefly warps back to thread*

I have never pressed the subscribe button on a thread in such a guilty yet morbidly curious fashion before...it's actually kinda intriguing.

It's OK, I wouldn't be surprised if you did.

1 Corinthians 11:3
But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

Do you think this scripture is stupid? Or do you think it's wise?

Do you believe that women should be subject to the authority of men?

Woman's suffrage has caused all types of problems.

Is beating a child OK?

We discipline children and train them in the ways of the Lord. We may spank them when necessary, but that's not beating them.

Also, to equate correcting a child with beating a wife is incredible. Do you have a verse in scripture to show that you're suppose to beat a wife?

What law are you burdening yourself with here?
It is hardly a burden. It is on this Paul says,,.....

1 Corinthians 14:[SUP]37 [/SUP]If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.[SUP]38 [/SUP]But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

What would you call the rest of the scripture on the subject of the man being the head of the woman?

Some of the points Zen was making here in the UK are valid but from the wrong angle.
It is not necessarily women in general who are in error here. It is a few strong willed individuals who are able to manipulate figures and shout the loudest to sway government policy in their favour.
Here in the UK we have watched women walk into jobs not based on their abilities or their qualifications, but because of their gender where employers are forced to employ a 50/50 male/female workforce. The problem is, that most of the harder physical jobs women refuse to do and by law they are backed up. So the traditional promotion of 20 years on physical work with the last 10-15 years in a cushy office as one gets older are now no longer available to men as one has offices full of women at a higher pay but with no experience.
Locally a man coming up to his 70's was in tears... When I asked what was wrong... He said he had worked for a firm all his life and started outdoors in the yard lifting heavy items... Slowly he was promoted until he was in the office. Then equal equalities agenda came in and he was at his age, back in the yard heavy lifting in the cold winter... He thought he would stick it out for a year or two so he could retire, but the women having no experience tried to overwork the men they were over and most of the young men left. Then he found the company got in the red, and as his pension was from company funds he lost his entire pension and the business went bust.

I am not a feminist by any means.

I believe women need to be under the shelter of her husband. But, not a whip. Seen as equals in humanity and in the Spirit of God.

My husband doesn't agree with your interpretation. And he is a Jew too Issachar. He is the first one to encourage me to speak up when I have a word from the Lord. But, interrupting the speaker in an assembly to ask questions and even to challenge what is being taught, is never right. And that is the basis for these words of Paul.

But, I would rather deal with your issues then to deal with the religious issues found in enows OP>

Since you are in agreement, there is a prophesy regarding suffering a woman to teach in the church at Thyatira.

Revelation 2:[SUP]18 [/SUP]And unto the angel of the church in Thyatira write; These things saith the Son of God, who hath his eyes like unto a flame of fire, and his feet are like fine brass;[SUP] 19 [/SUP]I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.[SUP] 20 [/SUP]Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants to commit fornication, and to eat things sacrificed unto idols.[SUP]21 [/SUP]And I gave her space to repent of her fornication; and she repented not.[SUP]22 [/SUP]Behold, I will cast her into a bed, and them that commit adultery with her into great tribulation, except they repent of their deeds.[SUP]23 [/SUP]And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he which searcheth the reins and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.[SUP]24 [/SUP]But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as have not this doctrine, and which have not known the depths of Satan, as they speak; I will put upon you none other burden.[SUP]25 [/SUP]But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

Again, I point out another line of discernment that since it is the Lord's commandment for women to be silent in church and not to speak, then God would not be manifesting tongues in women in church in violating His own commandment which proves that tongue the women are speaking as vain & profane babbling is not of Him at all.

May God cause the increase.

As it is, God has and will continue to use women in outreach ministries and as missionaries, even in these christian forums.

2 days ago, I was at my g.fs house, her hubby was yelling at her telling her to shut up etc, and I felt so uncomfortable. It was just reminding me what I have walked away from in my life. I believe when it comes to men and woman, there are times to be silent, but in the ministry, I believe woman can be teachers, councilors etc. But not pastors. That's just what I believe. I'm not going to force my beliefs on anyone, I'm old school. And men being the head of the house, God would not have put that in his Word, just to take it back. Men are not Superior to woman. It's a beautiful thing for men to be a protector, but because of how our world is, it's hard to comprehend that what God wants, is beautiful. Humans have corrupted everything that is good for evil.
