Hello Phil

Hi Loveforgod, We all understand what your opinion is regarding the Sabbath.
It is not my opinion it is the Word of God and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it. SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

Many will come to him on that day saying Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? And then he will say, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work SIN.

This is why it is written...

1 John 2
3,
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that said, I know him, and keeps not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

and again..

1 John 3
6,
Whoever stays in him sins not: whoever sins has not seen him, neither known him.

Yep does not look good for many come Judgement day.

However, that is different from your false assertion that we believe we are commanded to worship on Sunday..
There is no false assertions this is something that only you make up to hide the fact that you are following man made traditions that break the Commandments of God.

Where in all of God's Word does it say God's 4th Commandment is ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?
This question is asked only to show all that there is NO scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says that God's 4th Commandment has been ABOLISHED and we are now Commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day.

What is being said is that for Christians there is no command for any particular day. I hope you actually and finally get this point!
Well that is not true. Where does it say that God has ABOLISHED the 4th Commandment and we can worship God on any day of the week?

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

We are not saying that we are not to keep one day a week Holy this one day has been from the earliest christians Sunday.. but that is not a command.
Yep neither does God. It is God that tells you to keep the 7th Day of the Week HOLY yet you and your fathers say NO we will keep the 1st day of the week Holy in honour of a pagan Sun god because the Roman Catholic Church says to. All through time the God's people have been keeping God's 4th Commandment as a Holy day before during the earliest Christians to this present day in honor of the true God's of creation. You chose this day as a tradition that breaks God's Commandment in honor of the Roman Catholic Church the Mother of Sunday keeping.

Oh and you ask about authority...The authority is only from Jesus... Not Moses. Jesus mediatorial role is greater than Moses.
Jesus gave you no authority to break any of God's Commandments.

Do you still remember that you were slave in Egypt on the Sabbath..you are commanded by the law to do so if you observe the OT Sabbath!
Shadows are from the book of Moses. These are fulfilled in Christ. We are living in the NEW Testament today not the OLD. The book of the Covenant points to Jesus and are fulfilled in him outlining God's plan of salvation.

The 10 Commandments on the other hand are written and made by God himself, written on stone and are Forever. They are the KNOWLEDGE of SIN and RIGHTEOUSNESS that lead us to Christ that the sinner may know who he is and the one who saves all through faith.

You teach agains the God's LAW and the prophets. This is something Jesus and the Aposltes never did. Those who do so are least in God's KINGDOM because they do not go there.

We do indeed however remember that Jesus has delivered us from world and sin (spiritually Egypt) and today we are still wondering in the wilderness (waiting for Jesus to return) to take us home to the promised land (heaven).

Those who SIN (break God's Commandments) however will not enter God's KINGDOM because they have chosen SIN over God.

I remember that I was a slave to sin, a slave to the world and Jesus rescued me from it, this rescue was completed on the first day (a big hint there for you)!
What is a big hint? God's plan of salvation has not been completed. The life and death and resurrection of Jesus has interoduced the NEW Covanant. Jesus is now ministering on our behalf in the Heavenly Santuary (ongoing). We are living in the days of God's Judgement. God's 2nd coming has not happened as yet neither is there a NEW HEAVENS and and NEW EARTH. There is yet still time to REPENT of SIN and BELIEVE the Gospel. Tomorrow may be too late.

We find our rest in Christ (Already - not yet) and as we gather together each week as Christians we remember this work done in Christ - and the creation rest in our NEW CREATION in Christ (hint hint)
None of which is biblical and has any bases in scripture if you are breaking God's Commandments. Those who do such things are following man made teachings and the traditions that break the commandments of God.

The Law doesn't need to exist in order for sin to exist. Only God needs to exist in order for sin to exist. Romans 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Not sure where you got the idea that if the law didn't exist then sin wouldn't either.
It is true that whatsoever is not of FAITH is SIN because if you do not have FAITH you are NOT BELIEVING God's WORD.

Now if God says to us that if we break his Commandments it is SIN and the wages of SIN is death because we have rejected God's GIFT of GRACE then if we continue in SIN are we BELIEVING God or not BELIEVING God?

If God says to us....

Thou shalt not steal, and we go out and steal are we BELIEVING GOD? or NOT BELEIVING GOD?

Thou shalt not murder, and we go out and murder someone are we BELIEVING GOD? or NOT BELEIVING GOD?

Thou shalt not commit adultery, and we go out and commit adultery someone are we BELIEVING GOD? or NOT BELEIVING GOD?

Thou shalt not lie, and we go out and lie to someone are we BELIEVING GOD? or NOT BELEIVING GOD?

Honour our parents, and decide NOT to honor our parents are we BELIEVING GOD? or NOT BELEIVING GOD?

Thou shalt not covet, and we go out coveting other peoples things are we BELIEVING GOD? or NOT BELEIVING GOD?

Thou shalt have no other God's, and we go out making God's of money and pleasure are we BELIEVING GOD? or NOT BELEIVING GOD?

Thou shalt not make any idols, and we go making our own idols of things are we BELIEVING GOD? or NOT BELEIVING GOD?

Thou shalt not take God's name in vian, and we go out and take God's name in vain are we BELIEVING GOD? or NOT BELEIVING GOD?

NOW...

If God also says to us to Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy as he asked us to and we go out and say NO I want to have my own Holy day and worship God on the day of my choosing are we BELIEVING GOD? or NOT BELEIVING GOD?

God's Word is true. Whatsoever is NOT of FAITH is indeed SIN.

Just as breaking ANY of God's 10 Comamndments is SIN when God has told us that if er break ANY of God's Commandments we Commit SIN. If you do NOT BELIEVE God we become UNBELIEVERS and UNBELIEVERS have NO part in the KINGDOM of Heaven.

1 John 3
4,
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Do you BELIEVE GOD?

If we break ANY of God's 10 Commandments we stand guilty before God of committing SIN..

James 2
8,
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

12, So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

Do you BELIEVE GOD?

Don't you know that looking to the 10 commandments to try and obey them in your carnal understanding and strength is not Christianity? Its the error of the wicked. Its disobedience.
Hello Grandpa,

Where has anyone ever said to you that we are to look to the 10 Commandments in our own carnal understanding and strength? Now if no one has ever said such things and everyone is in agreeement with you then you have nothing to argue about now have you?

No one is looking to the 10 Commandments to try to obey them in our own strength.

Jesus says...........

Matthew 15
3,
Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.
4, Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
5, I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
6, If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

links to...

1 John 3
6,
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.

What we are talking about here is SIN and how SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

We are ONLY saved by GRACE through FAITH and NOT of OURSELVES it is a GIFT of GOD and not of WORKS lest any man should boast.

However, if your FAITH does not have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE then you are still in your SINS because you have rejected the GIFT of God's dear son. (James 2:18; 20; 26; Romans 6:23) If your tree has no fruit then it is cast down and thrown into the fire (Matthew 7:12-23) And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit (OBEDIENCE) is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (Luke 3:9)

speaking plainly now....

Hebrews 10
26,
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
27, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
31, It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God

Only God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it. SIN will keep all those who KNOWINGLY practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

...............

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

Hello Phil

There is no false assertions this is something that only you make up to hide the fact that you are following man made traditions that break the Commandments of God.

.
Hi Loveforgod,

I cant see how you can deny what you have said:

You are one mixed up puppy my friend. Where in all of God's Word does it say God's 4th Commandment is ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?
Again, no one has claimed that we are commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy. You keep making this false assertion. I have brought this to your attention a few times now.

At first I gave you the benefit of the doubt, that you may just be ignorant of the fact, but now I have to say your being dishonest.

I would say being dishonest is not a good trait to have.

Hi Phil

Hi Loveforgod, I cant see how you can deny what you have said:

I did not did not deny what I said. I denied your interpretation of what I said. You are saying things I have not said.

You are claiming that I BELIEVE people think that God's 4th Commandmend has been ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day.

I do not believe this whatsoever and that is NOT the reason I asked the question.

My intention of asking the question....

"Where in all of God's Word does it say God's 4th Commandment is ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day?"

is to show all people that there is NO scripture that says that God's 4th Commandments has been Abolished and we are now commanded to keep Sunday as a Holy day

It is one thing to have a misunderstanding of what someone is saying but when that person corrects you and you continue on claiming someone is saying something that they are NOT saying is the same as bearing false witness and lying.

I have corrected you more then a few times now. If you want to continue to bear false witness now it is between you and God.

It is you my friend that is being dishonest now and your fruits are showing.

Try addressing the scriptures and the posts that disagree with you. SIN will keep all who practice it out of God's Kingdom.

I have always found the AOG in the UK to be very Bible based.
If they were bible based they would be following the Bible. Clearly they are not. It is time to leave Sunday school and BELIEVE and FOLLOW the Word of God. Those who worship God must worship him in Spirit and in truth. Not the teachings and traditions or men that break the Commandments of God.

I have addressed this many times , I think " context " for you is code for " Sabbath ". since John did not mention Sabbath in His first letter, you attempt to conjoin these other verses to attach Sabbath keeping , and force it into John's letter, which he, being a jewish man, knowing all about Sabbath, did not say it as a command.

so, John the beloved wrote a letter, to mostly gentiles is the prevailing thought as to who, and in this letter, he mentioned command keeping, and also strongly spoke against sin, and then said that the commands are to Believe in the name of the Son, and love one another. if you are doing these commands, then you are probably not sinning. no Sabbath mentioned.

so, reading a letter from start to finish is context. and John's letter mirrors His Gospel.
Careful now gb9

What you have posted above is simply a lie. I will leave that between you and God.

Please prove me wrong. Where have you addressed my posts and the scriptures in them in relation to 1 John 3:23?

Here are the posts you claim you have addressed here...

The CONTEXT of 1 John 3:23 is SIN and those that are God's children do not practice SIN and those that are NOT God's Children practice SIN (CONTEXT IS SIN in 1 John 3:3-15)..

WHAT IS SIN??

POST # 4133 (You ignored and will not respond to the scriptures in the linked post).

VERSE BY VERSE CONTEXT COMPARISON OF 1 JOHN 3

POST # 4137 (You ignored the CONTEXT comparison 1 John 3 and will not respond to the scriptures in the linked post).

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO LOVE IN 1 JOHN 3:23 ?

POST # 4138 (Once again ignoring the scritpures showing that if you LOVE God you will be obedient to him linked)

Yep a lot of scripture showing your interpretation of one scripture in NOT in CONTEXT and a lot of scripture that you have to ignore to hold on to your interpretation of God's Word in order to follow your traditions.

Please show me you have addressed each of theses posts that show your interpretation of one scripture is out of CONTEXT?

Only God's Word is true and we should believe and follow it.

Typical of a Legalist who twists the word to make his point.

Why do you call Studyman a legalist for quoting God's Word? The scriptures he used are in context and all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness (2 Tim 3:16)

The definition of sin is transgression (breaking) the law. Jesus said He came to fulfill the law and the prophets not break them. The law will last until heaven and earth pass away. We are all under the law but those who accept Christ have our sins imputed to Him and His rightness imputed to us. He paid the penalty for us. The only unforgivable sin is rejecting Christ!
The law was given BECAUSE of transgression. The definition of sin is transgression against God.

Which happened before the law was ever in place.

Galatians 3:19 [FONT=&quot]Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.[/FONT]

if you are a gentile, it was never a command to you.
So in your view Jesus, Paul, James and John are all lying and the bible is not true?

Matthew 19
17,
And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18, He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Matthew 5
17,
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
18,
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
19, Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven
: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Romans 3
31,
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

James 2
8,
If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
9, But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.
10, For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
11, For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law.

12, So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.

1 John 2
3
, And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Yep don't look good for some come judgement day..

................

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

in 1st John, John is not talking about the Mosaic Law. the commands he is referring to is believe in the name of the Son and love one another.

why do you insist on pushing this deception? why can't you accept is right in front of your eyes? there are many commands that believers in Christ are to keep. Sabbath is not one of them.

we are saved by grace through faith for good works. not by Sabbath, for Sabbath, in order to keep the Sabbath. Sabbath is not the litmus test for a Christian. Christianity is not judism. stop trying to conflate the two.

Amen brother! We need to interpret the meaning of John's writings by comparing them with the other writings of John. The Greek word for "commandments" in Revelation 14:12 is {entole} which means "an order, command, charge, precept, injunction." The same word is used repeatedly in the writings of John to refer to the instructions of Christ. John uses an entirely different Greek word in his writings when he refers to the Ten Commandments: nomas. Example below:

Did not Moses give you the law {nomos}, and [yet] none of you keepeth the law {nomos}? Why go ye about to kill me? (John 7:19; Jesus is referring to the 6th commandment "Thou shalt not kill"--Ex. 20:13) According to John, the number one commandment {entolae} of Jesus to the Apostles was not Sabbath-worship, but for them to love one another:

A new commandment {entolae} I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. (John 13:34) This is my commandment {entolae}, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. (John 15:12)

*Notice how John refers to the "commandments" of God in his letter:

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and observe His commandments {entolas}. For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments {entolas}; and His commandments {entolae} are not burdensome. (1 John 5:2-3) Earlier in the same letter John tells us exactly what the "commandments" of God are:

Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, [then] have we confidence toward God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His [God's] commandments {entolas} and do the things that are pleasing in His sight. This is His [God's] commandment {entolae}, that we believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, just as He [God] commanded {entolaen} us. The one who keeps His [God's] commandments {entolas} abides in Him,... (1 John 3:21-24)

*From this we can see that in John's writings the "commandments" of God are:

To believe in Jesus Christ
To love one another :)

exactly. this is called truth, real truth, not cult, ellen white plucking and mixing and shake 3 times and poof! Sabbath keeping is artificially attached to everything.

in 1st John, John is not talking about the Mosaic Law. the commands he is referring to is believe in the name of the Son and love one another.
Seems God's Word disagrees with you and you do not know the difference between God's LAW and the Mosaic law...

Yep a lot of scripture showing your interpretation of one scripture in NOT in CONTEXT and a lot of scripture that you have to ignore to hold on to your interpretation of God's Word in order to follow your traditions.

why do you insist on pushing this deception? why can't you accept is right in front of your eyes? there are many commands that believers in Christ are to keep. Sabbath is not one of them.

A TEST TO KNOW IF SOMEONE IS TRYING TO DECEIVE OR PRACTICE DECEPTION

1 John 2
3,
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
4, He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a LIAR AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM

links to..

1 John 3
6,
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7,
Little children, LET KNOW MAN DECEIVE YOU: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, HE THAT COMMITS SIN IS OF THE DEVIL;

Yep pretty clear who those are that are teaching God's Ways and those who are not....

we are saved by grace through faith for good works. not by Sabbath, for Sabbath, in order to keep the Sabbath. Sabbath is not the litmus test for a Christian. Christianity is not judism. stop trying to conflate the two.
Indeed, but if your FAITH does not have the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE then you are still in your SINS because you have rejected the GIFT of God's dear Son (James 2:18: 20: 26).

If your tree has no FRUIT it will be cast down and thrown into the FIRE come judgement day (Matthew 7:12-23). Now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth NOT forth good fruit is CUT down, and cast into the fire (Matthew 3:10).

If you are still in your SINS when he gives you a KNOWLEDGE of the truth then you do not KNOW him who calls you in LOVE to LOVE another as he first LOVED you.

WHAT IS GRACE FOR?

Romnas 1
5,
By whom we have received GRACE and apostleship, FOR OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH among all nations, for his nam e:

Romans 16
26,
But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations FOR THE OBEDIENCE TO THE FAITH:

IS GOD'S LAW ABOLISHED THROUGH FAITH?

Romans
31, Do we then make void the law through faith? GOD FORBID; YEA WE ESTABISH THE LAW

Yep does't look good for some come judgement day. You do like your frient teach against God's LAW and the prophets. This is something Jesus never did.

You like your friend teach another Gospel to lead those away from God and it is God that you will answer to. This is sad for you so sad, so sad indeed to greive God's Spirit when he calls you to come through his Word but you close your eyes and ears in order to break God's Commandments and follow your traditions.

God will not always be loveing and patient if you reject his Word he will reject you.

Now MMD,

How can you share God's Word when you do not know what the Gospel is. You do indeed teach another Gospel and another Jesus that is not from God's Word. There is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed.

Let's look at the Greek Word for Commandments "NOMOS" in the NEW Testament

The Word meaning all comes down to CONTEXT and how it is used that determines its application.

This is because generally the word used for law in the NEW Testament Greek meaning is "nomos" νόμος ;nomos ;nom'-os From a primary word νέμω nemō (to parcel out, especially food or grazing to animals); law (through the idea of prescriptive usage), generally (regulation), specifically (of Moses [including the volume]; also of the Gospel), or figuratively (a principle): - law.

This GREEK word "nomos" is used to cover all the OLD testament laws collectively that make up the OLD Covenant (TORAH) but it is the application of the word used in CONTEXT of the chapter and within scripture CONTEXT that determines its application and meaning.

The use of the term law (nomos) in the New Testament is comparable. In some instances the word law refers to the Old Covenant Scriptures, and the focus is on the Pentateuch: “the Law and the Prophets” (Matt. 5:17; 7:12; 22:40; Luke 16:16; 24:44; John 1:45; Acts 13:15; 24:14; 28:23; Rom. 3:21; Matt. 11:13).

In some texts “Law” alone seems to refer broadly to the Old Testament Scriptures (Matt. 22:36; Luke 10:26; John 7:49; 10:34; 12:34; 15:25; 1 Cor. 9:8–9; 14:21, 34; Gal. 4:21), though in some of these texts a particular precept from the Mosaic law may be in view as well (John 7:49; 1 Cor. 9:8–9; 14:34).

Nevertheless, in the New Testament, as we saw in the Old Testament, the term law most often refers to what is commanded in the Gods law (10 Commandments). Matthew speaks of every “iota” and “dot” of the law (Matt. 5:18), and it is clear from the next verse that he is referring here to the “commandments” found in the law (Matt. 5:19).

Elsewhere Matthew considers particular matters commanded in the law (Matt. 22:36; 23:23). Similarly, Luke often uses the word law to refer to what is prescribed in statutes (Luke 2:22, 23, 24, 27, 39; Acts 23:3) or uses the term to refer collectively to what is commanded in God's 10 Commandments (Acts 6:13; 7:53; 13:39; 15:5; 21:24; 22:3, 12; 25:8). Similarly, when John does not use the word law to refer to the Pentateuch or the Scriptures, he uses it to refer to the Mosaic law (John 7:19, 23, 51; 8:17; 19:7).

Paul regularly thinks of the law in terms of its commands, and this is evident because he speaks of those who sin by violating the law, of the need to do what the law says, and of relying upon and being instructed in the law (Rom. 2:17, 18, 20).

When Paul speaks of righteousness (Rom. 3:21; 9:31; 10:4; Gal. 2:21; 3:11; 5:4; Phil. 3:6, 9) or the inheritance (Rom. 4:13–14, 16; Gal. 3:18) not being attained via the law, he has in mind doing what the law commands.

The law is conceived of as a body of commands summarized in the Mosaic covenant, which came at a certain time in history (Rom. 5:13; 7:4, 6; 9:4; 1 Cor. 9:20, 21; 15:56; Gal. 2:19; 3:17, 19, 21), and the phrase “under law” fits here as well (Rom. 6:14, 15; 7:1; Gal. 3:23, 24; 4:4, 5; 5:18).

In the book of Hebrews the word law always refers to the Mosaic law for remission of sin and the levitical priesthoodand to the Mosaic covenant (Heb. 7:5, 11, 12, 19, 28; 8:4; 9:19, 22; 10:1, 8, 28), with the focus being on the prescriptions for priests and sacrifices that are offered.

The above is not exhaustive but show that it is the CONTEXT and application of the Greek word "nomos" that determines what law it is referring to wheather God's LAW (10 Commandments), the Mosaic laws individually or collectively as the Torah or OLD Covenant.

OLD TESTAMENT EQUIVALLENT FOR LAW GREEK WORD LAW (NOMOS) IS TORAH

The word for law in the Old Testament Hebrew is torah; in the Greek New Testament it is nomos. It is often said that torah in the Old Testament does not refer so much to commands (to the keeping of commandments) as it does to instruction (to teaching) of the five books of Moses (Genesis; Exodus; Leviticus; Deuteronomy and Numbers)

However in the Old Testament other descriptive words are used (e.g. Commandment(s); Statute(s); Ordinance(s); Testimony (ies) and Rule(s) to name a few) to separate the various laws of the Torah (collective) but once again like has been shown above the general word Torah can be used to refer to any one of the other words and it is the CONTEXT of application the determines the specific meaning

For example....

Verbs for Obedience

KEEP (Gen. 26:5; Deut. 17:19; 28:58; 31:12; Josh. 22:5; 1 Kings 2:3; 1 Chron. 22:12; Ps. 119:34, 44; Prov. 28:4; 29:18; Jer. 16:11; Ezek. 44:24) WALK IN (Exod. 16:4; 2 Kings 10:31; Ps. 78:10; Jer. 26:4; 32:23; 44:10; Dan. 9:10)
DO (Deut. 27:26; 29:29; 31:12; 32:46; Josh. 1:7–8) BREAK (Deut. 27:26; 29:29; 31:12; 32:46; Josh. 1:7–8) OBEY (Isaiah 42:24)

Verbs for Disobedience FORGET (Hos 4:6; Ps. 119:61, 109, 153) TRANSGRESS (Dan 9:11 ) ABANDON (2 Chron 12:1) FORSAKEN ( Psalms 89:30; 119:53; Jer. 9:13) REJECT(S) (Isa 5:24; Jer 6:19; Amos 2:4)

SO NO MMD your application and argument is shown through the scriptures to be false. The meaning of the word is generated through the CONTEXT of scripture application in the NEW Testament application of the Greek word used for law (nomos) as well as the OLD Testament use of the Hebrew word Torah and other Hebrew Words used to describe God's 10 Commandments.

You do indeed teach anothe Gospel teaching against God's LAW (10 commandments) and the Prophets. Something Jesus and the prophets never did. Your fruit is now showing...

A TEST TO KNOW IF SOMEONE IS TRYING TO DECEIVE OR PRACTICE DECEPTION

1 John 2
3, And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

4, He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is LIAR AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIMa

links to..

1 John 3
6,
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
7, Little children, LET KNOW MAN DECEIVE YOU: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
8, HE THAT COMMITS SIN IS OF THE DEVIL;

Yep pretty clear who those are that are teaching God's Ways and those who are not....

Doesn't look very good for some come judgement day. SIN will keep all those who practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM.

.............

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) and like any of the ten, if we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

There is not one scripture in ALL of God's WORD that says God's 4th commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to worship God on Sunday in it's place.

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

so, instead of " linking " 1st John 2, talking about commands , to 1st John 3, where he states what the commands are, you want to jump elsewhere in Scripture to tie Sabbath into salvation. clear deception.

how about this- the Gospels link to the book of Acts. then, the letters of Paul , John., James, and Peter, and Jude, go on to expand out the new Way ( Christianity ). Acts 15 tells about Gentile believers being included. but, no Sabbath keeping mentioned.

so, you want to cut and paste and write in your own opinion commentary. well, o.k.. but just know- this is not proper Biblical handling.

Well lying is not going to help you my friend the scripture presented to you earlier are all in CONTEXT something you are missing with all your application of scriptuer.

Here you go from the 2nd post showing the CONTEXT you leave out of the only scripture you quote in 1 John 3:23. You indeed do not KNOW God's WORD or the POWER thereof and teach against God's LAW and the Prophets. This is something Jesus never did and God's Word warns us about.

Continuing .....

We have just looked at how God's Word defines SIN (Breaking God's 10 Commandments) and have shown that the CONTEXT is missing from your interpretation of 1 John 3:23 which is about SIN and how those practicing it do not KNOW God (1 John 3:3-15). Now lets look at the scripture you quoted and do a word study on BELIEVE and LOVE....

1 John 3
23, And this is his commandment, that we should BELIEVE IN THE NAME OF HIS SON JESUS CHRIST, and LOVE ONE ANOTHER, even as he gave us commandment.

What does the scriptures teach about BELIEVING IN THE NAME OF JESUS and what does it mean to LOVE ONE ANOTHER?

1. BELIEVING IN THE NAME OF JESUS

Matthew 1
21
, And she shall bring forth a son; and thou shalt CALL HIS NAME JESUS; for he shall SAVE HIS PEOPLE FROM THEIR SINS

His name shall be called Jesus because he will save his people from their SINS.... Therefore the scripture says JESUS = SAVIOR

Jesus is God's WORD......

John 1
1, In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2, The same was in the beginning with God.
3, All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4, In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5, And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
6, There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
7, The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8, He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9, That was the true Light, which lights every man that cometh into the world.
10, He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11, He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12, But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13, Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
14, AND THE WORD BECOME FLESH AND DWELT AMONG US, AND WE BEHELD HIS GLORY, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

1Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides for ever.

John 14
6, Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, THE TRUTH, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Matthew 1
21,
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

John 3
16
, For God so LOVED the world that he gave his only begotten son that WHOSOEVER BELIEVES on HIM SHOULD HAVE EVERLASTING LIFE

Matthew 4
4,
But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but BY EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.

John 17
17,
Sanctify them through thy truth: THY WORD IS TRUTH.

Psalms 119
11, YOUR WORD
have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

2 Peter 1
4,
Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
John 8
31,
Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32, And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33,
They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how say you, Ye shall be made free?

Let's put it all together...........

We are to LIVE by EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD (Matthew 4:4);

IF we CONTINUE IN HIS WORD THEN ARE WE HIS DISCIPLES and we shall KNOW the TRUTH and the TRUTH shall set us FREE from SIN (John 8:31-32; 34;36).

We are made HOLY BY THE WORD and ONLY God's Word is TRUTH (Psalms 119:172); We are BORN AGAIN by FAITH in the WORD

What is all this leading to, can you guess...............................

JESUS IS THE WORD OF GOD the power of creation (John 1:1-14; Genesis chapters 1-2). EVERLASTING LIFE IS GIVEN TO THOSE THAT BELIEVE EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD.

THE NAME of JESUS means SAVIOR (Matthew 1:21). We are BORN AGAIN as we BELIEVE GOD"S WORD. JESUS meaning Saviour means that THE WORD OF GOD IS JESUS AND THE WORD OF GOD ARE ONE AND THE WORD IF GOD IS OUR SAVIOR AS WE BELIEVE IT! FAITH IS THE VICTORY!

To BELIEVE on the LORD JESUS MEANS TO LIVE BY FAITH IN EVERY WORD THAT PROCEEDS OUT OF THE MOUTH OF GOD! IF YOU DO NOT BELIEVE THE WORD OF GOD YOU DO NOT BELIEVE in JESUS because HE IS THE WORD OF GOD! JESUS IS THE WORD AND THIS IS WHAT WE ARE TO BELIEVE.

Next we will look at what it means to LOVE in 1 John 3:23......

......................
