Have you guys ever been given a mission from God? He will come in many forms to deliver something to you. Either you asked for one, or you are destined for a task that God has given to you. So tell me, has He ever given you a task to do, and have you ever completed that task that God has given to you? Once your mission is completed, how are you suppose to feel? One would say that, they reached new heights Spiritually, Mentally, and Physically. Moses was given a mission to free the people of Israel, and take them to the Promise land, and that's when Moses's mission ended. The rest was up to the people of Israel. Let me hear your story.

Thank you and God Bless

Well I am not entirely sure mainly because I am afraid to truly speak it as it sounds pretty out there but deep inside I feel a calling I can't even describe it in a single post really but whenever I think about this calling I feel a fire rising inside me it almost feels like it will burst from my chest. But the thing is this calling is not a one part thing because for now I have to wait until he actually calls me to it but I also am to do all I can while I wait. Even from the day I was saved I somehow knew he needed me to be strong in him very quickly as if he needed to prepare me for something huge and there wasn't a lot of time to do so.

There are but two missions from God:
1. Evangelize.
2. Edify his people.

It's not that hard to figure out when the missions are complete. When Jesus returns, the missions are complete.

I don't know about specific missions, but I do believe each of us has a purpose.

I think he means a specific calling or perhaps he merely means an actual go and do this kind of mission maybe when he comes back online he will expalin

We are ambassadors for Christ, The Paul also refer not to all Christians as ambassadors, but only to those who are bringing God's message of reconciliation KJV2Corinthians5:19-21 19. To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them;and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us; we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who new no sin;that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

This is a great message and I can totally relate to your description of feeling that call. I usually get it when I have to pray for or with someone or evangelize. When I experience that call from God I always end up being witness to a miracle - either because people come to Christ or because they were healed through prayer.
The thing is that I'm not there to make the miracle happen, I'm just there to witness it.
God did not call me because he needed me, he called me because he knew that I needed to see the miracle - which is even more beautiful when I think about it.

- In that sense it is also hard for me to describe it, because I'm not really sure that I understand the concept of mission, mine is to be as close as i can to God and just be a witness to his love.

I believe every Christian have a mission to love other, and the most loving thing people can do is to let people know how to be save, salvation cost trillion dollar. No gift has more value than salvation.

God does use us in seasons and in different assignments.

We have had many different assignments in our ministry, but the constants was the people groups we are called to minister to and the building up of others to take what we started and to grow it themselves.

we all have been given a mission from God preach the gospel to the world.....you have to be very careful when you say God has called me to do something because remember there is a devil and God has reminded us over and over again he is the prince of lies and he deceives the world and I know sometimes us getting goosebumps when we see certain things makes us think it's the holy spirit telling us something... just be careful listen to the word of God and only him and that way there is no if and or buts

God has many appointed tasks that He assigns. I have had a few but nothing as dramatic as Moses. How did I feel? Usually I felt tired and worn out but had no regrets.

Actually, there have been relatively few who have been given a mission from God to preach the gospel to the world. Most people humbly serve the Lord in performing common every day tasks, some that are considered menial in nature but still have to be done. The most effective preaching of the gospel is the example you set by how you conduct yourselves in your service to the Lord. It's not always glamorous as going to a foreign country and become a missionary, or even being a pastor in a local church for that matter.

Not every one is called to preach, I think you mean everyone is called to be a witness and when led by the Holy Spirit, share the Gospel.

I know a guy who thought he was called to preach the Gospel and end up being a date setter on the rapture and he lost everything over it.

The only "mission" I know for a certainty that God keeps putting on my heart is to "be still and know" He is God. Because I am inclined to run ahead of Him like a child and spin my wheels thinking philosophically, theologically, intellectually or whatever. It's all carnal phoney-baloney. The only time I see (perceive in spirit) the Lord is when I stop trying to do a thing for Him or figuring things out and just fall into Him. God's mission for me is to know Him ~ to know He's accomplishing His will in me, and in spite of me. hehe :) It seems the less I'm aware of my purpose, the clearer Jesus becomes.

Let's say you're an electrician. And, I can most certainly state I am not. I really lack in anything concerning mechanical know-how, so it is very safe to say I am not an electrician.

Now would you want me constantly telling you how to do something electrical? Wouldn't it seem fairly dumb to you? Wouldn't you start thinking a pile of negative things about me because here I am not an electrician trying to tell you how to do something electrical. Really dumb, right?

Yeah. Same problem I have with you as you keep spouting all this nonsense about the Lord. You're not a Christian, so exactly why do you pretend to tell Christians how to be Christians?

Spiritual Status:unsure
I'm guessing "unsure" is the only other choice to make, if someone signs up here but isn't a Christian, but you're sure. You think it's something you can play around with and we're your toys.

You may come to the Lord and become a Christian some day, but you don't know a hill of beans about what anything remotely connected to the Lord or Christianity means now.

We're not as dumb as you tend to think we are. We do get it. You're not one yet, even when you hang around us and pretend you are. I take your words as seriously as I take a three-year-old trying to teach me how to be a carpenter because he has a plastic tool box with plastic tools. More amusement than anything else.

So now what you are saying is that if you have a Christian status on this site it makes you a Christian and if you don't it doesn't? never called you dumb...but now I have to say that wasn't too smart....calm down it's ok nobody is fighting he who humbles himself will be praised and he who praises himself will be humbled...you know this is kind of funny I'm actually an electrician myself and some of the older electricians at work think they know it all so they don't like to hear what laborers have to say right well one day a laborer was trying to help this guy from hurting himself guess what electrician didn't listen he didn't get hurt but got fired for taking shortcuts

Thank you all for sharing your thoughts. What I meant about this thread is, has He ever given you a mission or a task. Now I know we are not Moses, and his mission was given straight from the Heavenly Father. That was just an example. I believe that God gives us tasks, missions, every day, and He requires us to always do the right thing. To accomplish higher tasks, one must pray everyday, ask for His guidance through the process, regardless of how difficult the road is ahead. I have experienced something similar. A mission/task of some sort. How did I feel? Well to tell you the truth, I feel the same LoL. Although, I am seeing many blessings happening throughout my life because of this mission/task that I have completed. So there you go. Follow His Will, and pray for guidance if something like this, if ever, comes your way.

And my thoughts about preaching the word of God. We are all not meant to be ministers/preachers. He will use us in a way that He has created us to fit the task that He has put forth for us. We may not have preached in front of thousands of people, but there are people out there that needs our help one on one, helping them to be guided to Jesus. God created all of us different, with different talents, and ways of communicating. Let Him use your talents for His specific purposes. Pray about it.

That is all. Thank you all and God Bless

Well there was this one time when God used me in a way that I can certainly call a mission. It was about two years ago and I was visiting my sisters new house and spending the night, now I always tell God that I was never any one thing for him and that I am always willing to be used by him however that may be even if it isn't in my initial gifts, I have never considered myself strong or wise and I am certainly not best Christian out there but one thing I do know is that I have my willingness. Well it was sunday morning at my sisters house and there was a church I could walk to, i had never been to this small church before but I just felt I should go there and even on my way to it I told God the same thing.

Let me tell you God is the author of be careful what you wish for lol. I entered this small church and the people there greeted me with a smile and were nice to me, I learned that many in small church were going through very hard times, many of the peoples friends and family had either recently died or were very ill and it was a grim situation for almost every person there. Well when the pastor had begun the sermon about half way through I could feel this urgent urge to get up on the stage and speak.
Now I have never done this before and am timid and shy by nature when it comes to speaking in front of people but in this instant there was no fear or doubt of any kind it just felt natural as if by instinct I didn 't even know what I was going to say when I got up there but I just knew I had to get up there so I waited for the pastor to finish his sermon and asked him if I could say a few things to the church real quick.

He allowed it and honestly I don't remember a lot of what I said but it was about healing of the inner wounds and the words simply flowed out. After I was done something happened that I didn't expect, the entire church applauded some where in tears and some were grinning so big I am surprised their skin can handle it. That day simply because I was willing God used me to make a spark in the hearts of people, inner wounds were being mended simply because I offered God my willingness.
