He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.

Mark 6:30-32

Jesus didnt live all work and no rest, relaxation. He took rest when He needed
and trained His disciples to do the same, being burnt out isnt healthy.

30 The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. 31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”
32 So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place.

God made such a wonderful world to go see and remind us we are creatures of
God which is seen when we look at nature

there is scripture that says Jesus often went to a mountain to pray,
or the wilderness. Why did Jesus go to the mountains to pray? To be alone. To commune with God. To model prayer for us…

I have to smile, since I'm sitting outdoors listening to my wind chimes, and hearing the snow melt :), and watching the birds at the feeders. :)

I know there are people who love living in cities (and may the Lord bless and keep them!)
but I am thankful to live smack in the middle of "nowhere".
Yep--if you ever wanted to know just where that is, I can give you the address. lol

You know I just have to chime in with that song: And He walks with me and He talks with me and He tells me I am His own.

Those times He spent with the Father I am sure were the most welcomed moments of His life. And we too can find that sort of rest He sought from His works in Him. We should all often take a moment of rest in Him so that, just like Him, we can carry on our toils we have under Him until our goals have been meet.

*sniff* :)
That was my Grandma's favorite hymn, along with "'Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus", and we sang them at her memorial service.
Haven't heard it since.
Thanks for such a pleasant reminder...not that she died, but that she lives. ♥

wish you were here too Abiding. it seems like a big task and I have no clue what the solution is but I know someone who does!

I keep my faith in God and that He will show those with more wisdom than I what to do about the situation.

So I've been ok to put together a sewing workshop (I was thinking more of a clothes mending workshop then a needlepoint one but we'll see how it goes)

We are suppose to help paint the school one day next week, which should be fun. I think I might see if the principal would mind if a group of students and I painted a mural on one of the walls of their classroom. I was thinking science related but they could do a scene from their life at home as well.

I think it would be wonderful. :)

anyway I got a Bible in Xhosa and wanted to share Psalm 19 with you but will have to do it in a bit. gotta run. love you guys. God bless

Abba! How Good you are!
Thank You for equipping and sending Ariel to be Your hands, Your voice, Your heart. ♥
I ask for You to send the solutions to the problems she's dealing with,
and I thank You that You had a plan for it long ago. :)
Please encourage her heart, and strengthen her body to Your service.
Thank You for creating all the joy in her heart in serving You,
and for giving her Your own love for the dear people she serves.
May Your word go forth!
And grace be poured out onto hearts,
that the Lord Jesus will be seen!
Abd not seen only, Abba, but believed upon!
To the praise of Your glory,
for Jesus' sake.
We love You so, Lord God.
Cover Ariel with Your mighty hand,
keep her close to You.
Please let us learn from her
the wonderful things You're teaching her there.
So we can all see Jesus, and be like Him.
Thank You, thank You, You alone are God. ♥

Nice Ellie,
That's the type of spirit that has received grace.
I see the legalists who lash out at what they think is God's command.
But the true saved.....are always grateful.

My mother laughs at me since this is one of my favorite songs and i cant sing it
without turning into a blubbering baby....ive never understood it..it just is true.
I blame it on God. Jesus Himself spent much time in gardens. :)

I come to the garden alone
While the dew is still on the roses
And the voice I hear falling on my ear
The Son of God discloses.
Refrain

And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
And He tells me I am His own;
And the joy we share as we tarry there,
None other has ever known.

He speaks, and the sound of His voice,
Is so sweet the birds hush their singing,
And the melody that He gave to me
Within my heart is ringing.

Refrain

I’d stay in the garden with Him
Though the night around me be falling,
But He bids me go; through the voice of woe
His voice to me is calling.

Refrain

Words: Charles Austin Miles (1912)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Story: I read…the story of the greatest morn in history: “The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, while it was yet very dark, unto the sepulcher.” Instantly, completely, there unfolded in my mind the scenes of the garden of Joseph….Out of the mists of the garden comes a form, halting, hesitating, tearful, seeking, turning from side to side in bewildering amazement. Falteringly, bearing grief in every accent, with tear-dimmed eyes, she whispers, “If thou hast borne him hence”… “He speaks, and the sound of His voice is so sweet the birds hush their singing.” Jesus said to her, “Mary!” Just one word from his lips, and forgotten the heartaches, the long dreary hours….all the past blotted out in the presence of the Living Present and the Eternal Future. (Thanks to cyberhymnal.org)

Another Story: Here is the account of how this beautiful hymn was written—from the hymn-writer C. Austin Miles himself: One day in April, 1912, 1 was seated in the dark room, where I kept my photographic equipment and organ. I drew my Bible toward me; it opened at my favorite chapter, John 20--whether by chance or inspiration let each reader decide. That meeting of Jesus and Mary had lost none of its power and charm.

As I read it that day, I seemed to be part of the scene. I became a silent witness to that dramatic moment in Mary's life, when she knelt before her Lord, and cried, Rabboni!

My hands were resting on the Bible while I stared at the fight blue wall. As the light faded, I seemed to be standing at the entrance of a garden, looking down a gently winding path, shaded by olive branches. A woman in white, with head bowed, hand clasping her throat, as if to choke back her sobs, walked slowly into the shadows. it was Mary. As she came to the tomb, upon which she placed her hand, she bent over to look in, and hurried away.

John, in flowing robe, appeared, looking at the tomb; then came Peter, who entered the tomb, followed slowly by John.

As they departed, Mary reappeared; leaning her head upon her arm at the tomb, she wept. Turning herself, she saw Jesus standing, so did 1. 1 knew it was He. She knelt before Him, with arms outstretched and looking into His face cried, Rabboni!

I awakened in sunlight, grip*ping the Bible, with muscles tense and nerves vibrating. Under the inspiration of this vision I wrote as quickly as the words could be formed the poem exactly as it has since appeared. That same evening I wrote the music.

Izulu libalisa uzuko lukaThixo,
Saye isibhakabhaka sixela
umsebenzi wezandla zakhe.
2. Imini impompozelela imini intetho,
ubusuku buxelela ubusuku ukwazi.
3. Akukho ntetho, akukho mazwi,
Apho singavakaliyo isandi sawo,
4. Intambo yawo yokulinganisa
iphume yaya ehlabathini lonke,
Kwaba seziphelweni zelimiweyo
ukukhuluma kwawo.

Ilanga ulimisele intente kuwo,
5Lona linjengomyeni ke ephuma
egumbini lakhe;
Linemihlali njengegorha,
ukugidima ngomendo walo,
6 Kusesiphelweni sezulu ukuphuma kwalo,
Ukujikeleza kwalo kusa eziphelweni zalo;
Akukho nto inokusithela ebushushwini balo
....14. Makakholeke amazwi omlomo wam, nezicamango zentliziyo yam,
Phambi kwakho, Yehova, liwa lam, mkhululi wam.
