John 14:17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

Then after that Jesus says...

John 16:7 But I tell you the truth: It is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Counselor will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

Obviously both times he's speaking of the Holy Spirit... Is it that he's talking about different manifestations of the Holy Spirit?
One truth one counselor?

This is the difference between possessing revealed knowledge and possessing the indwelling of the Holy Spirit himself.

One he's talking about the " Spirit of truth " the other " the Holy Ghost " ... No contradiction ..

22But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

It is not right to divide certain ideas and then out of the main context compare certain parts of it.

What kind of contradiction you are talking about??

Acctually in the chapter 14, Jesus promis to the disciples Holy Spirit (which only had spoked and acted only among the ancient prophets).

In the 16 chapter, Jesus explain why His death shall cause triumph of the execution of the promise (to sent the Holy Spirit).

In which word you acctualy see any contradiction????

Yes. You cannot separate the Spirit of truth from the Holy Spirit since he is the author of revealed truth.

That is probably the best explanation for it....

All of these "Spirits" are of God... Only one Holy Spirit in Christ's name

Isaiah 11:2 - And the spirit of the YAHWEH shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of YAHWEH;

and Jn [SUP]18 [/SUP]I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you......Jesus is saying in uncertain terms he is the HS.....just as the told Philip he is the Father...
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
[SUP]9 [/SUP]Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
The Word was God ..the Word was made flesh...

......
narrow it down for a while to the very first verse you posted.(this will lead later to great unbelievable joy later, for a few people). i.e. >
when jesus spoke this, who was living with the ones he was talking to?

The spirit of Truth is in Jesus, it is the Holy Spirit, the Holy Spirit is in Jesus at the time. After he died, when the Apostles were at pentecost the Holy Spirit is poured out onto all who believe. The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to testify Jesus death and resurrection and to witness the Gospel is true.

This is why it pays to read more than one translation.

15 “If you love me, keep my commands. 16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever— 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

The Spirit (Jesus) did live WITH them, and as most of that chapter says, they knew Him. And, as He said, that Spirit would return to live IN them.... but in order for that to happen, He had to first, leave.

The Holy Spirit wasn't given to most believers until the Church was born in Acts.

Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

So they waited until the Holy Spirit was given:

Acts 2:4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
