Still not getting it. You have to excuse my idiocy right now. I haven't had much sleep in a while. I agree we are just men, and I doubt I could describe what they saw any better had I seen it myself. All I'm saying here is just conjecture on my part anyway. Just thinking outloud (or in text I guess). I think they are interesting additions to scripture and it would be cool to be able to understand what they are and what their purpose is.

I honestly haven't got a clue what the authors saw, but the bible does say they are living beings, that much I can say I believe if I take scripture at its word. Hence why I disagree with them being some kind of technology.

Satan is called a cherub by scripture as well, so unless satan is some kind of technology or abstract non-living construct, then I have to assume these are living creatures just as satan is since they are all given the name cherub/cherubim.

I realize as well that some people fall into the trap of claiming Ezekiel is talking about UFOs and aliens which is absurd, and also one more reason for me to reject the technology idea.
geez the multiple "alien" deceptions bum me out soo much... and everytime i hear "millions" or "billions of years"

can anyone grasp what the cherub angels look like from the Word? im left typically with cartoonish images that have almost definitely been altered by man made images....

When they went, they went upon their four sides; they turned not as they went, but to the place whither the head looked they followed it; they turned not as they went.

And every one had four faces: the first face was the face of a cherub, and the second face was the face of a man, and the third the face of a lion, and the fourth the face of an eagle.

very interesting and confusing to me
1 Cor 2:14.

These "beings" are spirits.

What does a spirit look like?

The symbols being used describe the spiritual attributes of the spirits, strength, love, and knowledge for example.

Can we say what love looks like? We see the results of the love, the actions that show spiritual love in the material world Jn 3:8.

But we can't see pure spirit love, yet.

----

It's kind of like we have eyes that "see" the physical lights, but we don't have "spirit eyes" to see the spirits of love (except in our hearts).

When our spirits break free of the flesh, then we will see the REALITY of the spirit.

-----

People try to identify the symbols as physical properties of the material world, this is true to identify the meanings of the symbols which are mostly common to men, spiritual symbols (strength, love, etc)

The trouble is, when people start to identify the symbols as material properties, in certain passages, or literal as symbolic. (these things should be studied so that you can come to your own conclusions)

Ezek 1:18, A description of the spirits, given to us in a way that we can identify the spiritual attributes of the beings, so that souls can relate to them in some form. (eyes, knowledge)

Try to identify the spiritual attributes of the symbols.

--

The symbols also are identified with real people, nations, entities, and events.

Just say the dragon, what ever it is, it can't be good.

Or the beast (animal without reason), probably not so good.

The false prophet, I don't think that you would want to be buds with him either.
-
How about those 4 spirits (4 corners of the earth, 4 winds, north, south, etc.), around the throne of God?

I don't think that you would want them as enemies would you? (power)

Just as Ezekiel and John, did the best they could with what they had? If given a chance they had, in fact ACTUALLY SEEING? I MIGHT could describes it better?...Perhaps not, though! But, me believing that "Blessed are those that see, and believe", in comparison with, "More blessed are those who have not seen, YET believe?"....Methinks, I could use the more "blessedness!"....
Isn't there a little slip here ? It's not a case of being 'blessed and/or 'more blessed.
Jesus said to Thomas 'because you have 'seen you believe (no blessing here) but...
'blessed are they who have not seen (only they are blessed)

Seek and you shall find is a blessing to all. Personal empirical experiential evidence is given to those who seek diligently. To say they are not blessed because they needed to be shown is ridiculous. The lost need to be encouraged to seek, not told it is no blessing to be rewarded with finding. God opens the eyes of the blind and it is a blessing! Praise God for His grace abounds!

I like the description concerning the WHEEL on the EARTH and the 4 living creatures NEXT TO IT and when IT is lifted from the earth the 4 Living creatures are lifted as well because they are in the MIDDLE of the WHEEL.......

NOW really ponder that for a moment......then look at PSALM 68:17 The chariots of God are twenty thousand, even thousands of angels: the Lord is among them, as in Sinai, in the holy place.

Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth...
I believe Lucifer either covered the Ark of the Covenant at one time, or still is covering it.

Either way, Lucifer and his Stones are a picture of DNA.

The 'Coverings' are Nucleobases.

The Stone with Seven Eyes.

Nitrogen.

A+++

The Kingdom of God is Within You.

In Earth as it is in Heaven...

Matthew 6:10
"Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven"

"In" Earth... not "On" it.

Within the "Clay/Earthen Vessel" of Adam...

There is Great Wisdom waiting for those that are diligent and "seek ye first the Kingdom of God" within...

Well, it's symbolic- angels are not physical, though they have taken on some forms of physicality, they existed before physicality. So when it says, for example, "They were covered with eyes" it means they were all seeing (knowing).

You are meddling with scripture to make it say other than what it says....
but in order not to derail the thread I'll say no more.
