The Holy Spirit isn't a "force".
The Holy Spirit isn't a mindless energy.
The Holy Spirit has an active will.
The Holy Spirit has attributes of God and is part of the Godhead.

1. The Holy Spirit isn't a force/energy, and isn't a mindless being. He has an active will, thoughts and consciousness.

He guides. John 16:13
He speaks. John 16:13
He has the ability to glorify Jesus John 16:14
He makes things known John 16:15

John 16
12 “I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. 13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. 14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.”

The Holy Spirit has the attributes of God and is part of the Godhead.

Lying to the Holy Spirit is equal to lying to God.
Acts 5
3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? 4 Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.”

The Holy Spirit is eternal.
Hebrews 9
14 How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death,[c] so that we may serve the living God!

Holy Spirit is everywhere.

Psalm 139
7 Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
if I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
10 even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me
and the light become night around me,”
12 even the darkness will not be dark to you;
the night will shine like the day,
for darkness is as light to you.

Ephesians 4:30 KJV
(30) And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

G3076
λυπέω
lupeō
loo-peh'-o
From G3077; to distress; reflexively or passively to be sad: - cause grief, grieve, be in heaviness, (be) sorrow (-ful), be (make) sorry.

We cannot grieve something that is a force.

The Spirit of God has been in existence before the beginning of time.
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth... and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2)

The Spirit of God is holy.
...who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord... (Romans 1:4).

The Spirit of God is omniscient.
For to us God revealed them through the Spirit; for the Spirit searches all things, even the depths of God... Even so the thoughts of God no one knows except the Spirit of God. (1 Corinthians 2:10-11). :D

I believe the Holy Spirit is what God is called when he is communicating directly with us. In other words, his spirit is in contact with our spirits.
