How AWESOME is this.

Hebrews 10:19-25 (HCSB)
 Exhortations to Godliness
19 Therefore, brothers, since we have boldness to enter the sanctuary through the blood of Jesus,
20 by a new and living way He has opened for us through the curtain (that is, His flesh),
21 and since we have a great high priest over the house of God,
22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.
23 Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
24 And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works,
25 not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

I like to note that vs. 25b is reciprocal. The more we see the Day of the Lord approaching, the more we need to encourage each other. But also, the more we encourage one another, the more we will see the Day of the Lord approaching.

Since you posted in Bible discussion forum, let me ask, what, if anything do worship meetings have to do with Sunday church?

OK, I posted this here because it is far from Miscellaneous. Is there a Praise thread I missed?

I am going to wing the answer to your question and see what happens.

Sunday worship/gathering is where I am held accountable to the whole Body.
Home group worship/gathering/ bible class is where we learn and exhort each other personally,
and we are accountable to each other.

I think I hear you saying that the phrase "exhort one another" makes the home group the meeting that the verse is speaking of.

I see no such exhortation in most Sunday meetings.

If this is true, then most Christians (who attend mostly Sunday church) are not following this verse's recommendations.

We must have different experiences. I have never seen a Sunday meeting where I was held accountable.

Any time I worship our Holy God I feel accountable. The Holiness of God blows me away.
Either I am using accountable wrong, or we have different views of accountable?

I think the meaning of "accountable" changed between the last two posts. Do you feel accountable to the whole body, or to the Lord, when you worship on Sundays?

Both

I feel accountable to the body for my witness, helping, caring, greeting people etc.
I feel accountable to God for my whole "being" in worship.

I like it when the Lord tells me something twice, don't you? ♥
(and He often has to... )

And I am honored to see this respectful dialogue between Ken and Kefa.
Thanks, guys. :)

And thank You most of all, Lord. ♥

That leaves the question of the relationship of "feeling accountable" to that of "encouraging and being encouraged". Also the question of the relationship of "feeling accountable" to "being accountable".

My original question concerned whether you experience Sunday worship as fulfillment of Heb. 10:25. I do not; I think you do. I'm picking your brain as to why.

Pick all you want.

To be honest I am not good at explaining myself. That is why I just didn't cut and paste a bunch of scripture here.

Hebrews 10:25 not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other Ac 2:42; Rm 13:11; Heb 3:13 and all the more as you see the day drawing near.

Nope. I go to Sunday to have fellowship, worship, listen to the message, encourage the pastor, There is purpose to be there. I enjoy being there and serving others. Feeling might not be the best choice of words.
I go to Sunday meeting to worship and serve. I enjoy it. I am being accountable and I enjoy serving.
