Some people say Jesus and the Twelve preached the same
Gospel of salvation that Paul did.

How can they say something like that when Paul’s Gospel says,
"Christ died for you and rose from the dead." (1 Corinthians 15:1-4)
253146_268724183248461_1365967658_n.jpg

Could they preach that before it ever happened?
See that’s my question.
How could they preach death, burial and resurrection
back here in Jesus Christ's earthly ministry?
Well they can’t,
and they didn’t!

Well then, some people like to tell me,
well, they must have known. No. They didn’t know.

Luke 18 is just as plain as day that they didn’t know.
The Lord says in those verses,
"We go up to Jerusalem. Everything written by the prophets
will be accomplished. He will be scourged. He will be beaten.
He’ll be put to death and the third day He will rise again
from the dead."
So far so good.
But what does the next verse say?
"And they knew none of these things, because it was HID FROM THEM."

So the Twelve didn’t know, and if they didn’t know what He was talking about in those verses,
how could they have preached it?
See what I’m saying?

How could they preach death, burial and resurrection
when they had no idea that it was going to happen.
And yet people will still say that they preached
the same salvation message that Paul preached.

ARE THEY BLIND?
It's high time people wake up, and let the scales fall from their eyes!
Its as clear as day!
even my little boy understands this.

Common sense tells me they couldn’t preach Paul’s Gospel of salvation,
because all of Paul’s Gospel was resting on that death, burial and resurrection.
How can you preach something that hasn’t happened?
Well you can’t.
And they didn’t!

COMPARE THESE TWO GOSPELS

AND MAYBE YOU CAN SEE:

IS THE GOSPEL THE CROSS OR KINGDOM.jpg

Speaking of those in the wildnerness the author of Hebrews states...

For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. (Heb 4:2)

Gospel in both cases pointed to God's Redemption. The difference was that in the wilderness the Gospel came in the form of a promise (I will bring you into the land) and also in types and shadows (such as Aaron's rod budding, the fire by night and the cloud by day, serpent on the pole etc.).
The Gospel as in 1Cor15 is the proclamation that saves today but it always has been by Promise in the Redeemer both OT and NT.

ib4gzus,

You explained the different gospels very well! I didn't see the difference for many years, but once I did...Wow! The Bible makes sense like never before. The verses that were always so contradictory for me now give me peace and confidence in salvation.

Faith = Taking God at His Word! It's so simple.

Most of King David's experiences came along with the Holy Spirit inspiring Him were because God lead David to experiences that were a type and smaller yet duallistic experiences of the Lord Jesus especially psalms 2, 22,23, which Jesus quoted and made refrences to also Jesus did not make refrence to the most vivid exatating descriptions of His sacrafice in Isa. 53 although Isa. did not experience them he was observant and experienced when the Holy Spirit was upon him and writting through Him, still in the context of the op Praise to the perfect Lord Jesus, when he read the writings HE knew perfectly Himslf in all things written.

I think ig4s point is that Isa 53 wasnot understood as it was intended otherwise the disciples would have understood Jesus when he told them He must suffer and die.

We are not saved by the death we saved by the resurrection the life
Romans 5:10For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.
This is what they did not understand they were so used to trying to reach God through the Law, and duriig this time they mix grace with the wors of the Law
Romans 9:32Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
the Gentiles recieved by faith without the works of the Law
unto Gomorrha. [SUP]30 [/SUP]What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith.
[SUP]31 [/SUP]But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
[SUP]32 [/SUP]Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
[SUP]33 [/SUP]As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
A big problem though today is the Gentile race has added tothe Faith adding works of the Law to it andso manyare stumbling today over the same Rock as I just posted in verse 33 there are a lot of beleivers stumbling and are ashamed never attaining the resurrection because of not finalizing the death as in being forgiven 100% there and there alone

one of the best psalms from King David I like is entering his courts with thanksgiving and praise. I was in a bible study one day and this psalm was stated and I raised my hand and stated this was King David talking about the coming Messiah, seeing this truth were we are no longer under the Law freed and given new life by the resurrection. This was an ephany for me way back then and today we are looking back to the cross after it has taken place.

Praise the Lord Brother HWB for your response from your expereinces. i have not experienced the same concerning your point in 33. Yes, we praise the Lord we are saved by all of His Life, all of it, i do not dissectHim or partulize(stress one part or one accomplishment from all of His works) for me one accomplishment of the Lord is not complete without all of His life His absolute perfect: birth, life, ministry, death, resurrection, ascensionand standing at the right hand of the Father interceding.

I understand the focus in some writings and in context what wasaddressed whether in response of errors or information by the apostles but we cannot but see the magnificence of Jesus Perfect in all His ways as man and Godlogos' ways obtaining salvation for us all.

Yep thats right!
it was prophesied in the Old Testament,

about Jesus going to the cross and you would think that the Diciples would have know about that, but the fact is, is they didn't. (or they couldn't, because it was hid from them)

even the scribes and pharisees as learned as they was, didn't understand who Jesus was.

But lets think for a minute.

Had they known who Jesus was, then they would not have crucified him.
He came to earth for this purpose.
To die for the sins of the world.
To be the sacrifice to pay the sin dept for my sins and your sins.
and had he not died, then we would still be in our sins today. Right.

So that was God's plan all along ..... to keep the cross HID FROM THEM.
and afterwards they would understand it.

I Corinthians 2:7,8
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
[SUP]8 [/SUP]Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory

Yes , ib4gzus,the pharisees did not understand who Jesus was because they wanted a Messiah who would free them from Roman rule, not from their sin debt . They were jealous of Jesus because all the miracles He did and the profound teaching He did took the people's attention away from them. God did not want the pharissee's to accept him as who he was because ,as you said, if Jesus hadn't died on the cross , we would still be in our sins. Their jealousy would not allow them to recognize him as the Son of God. As far as how can you preach something that hasn't happened goes, the second coming of the Lord has been preached for centuries and it hasn't happened yet either. The key verse to understanding the scriptures is 2nd Timothy 2:15 ,"Study to show thyself ( this means YOU) approved unto God(not grandma, not the preacher, not your friends, but God)(no personal attacks intended) a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."this verse is why I am a King James Bible only man.

I agree and a little further revelation mystery by this it freed you from trying to obey law by his death and when we believe we are freed by his death and then gain new life by God the Father loving all as he loved and loves us. If you are not freedfrom the Law how can I live a new life, I would be too busy trying to obey the Law as I did before salvation and short continuously yes. I used to be right there until I finalized and saw that by the death of Christ I by belief in Christ I was freed from Law that I was put under by my place of worshipat that time and was so busy trying to obey it I was miserable until God showed methetruth and set me free, thanks for listening to me rant on and on

Okay, If I am understanding your question correctly, are you asking how was they preaching Jesus saves, while he was still alive? like when he sent them out two-by-two?...... well, if this is what you are asking, they did not preach Jesus..... they preached " THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD: SAYING IT IS AT HAND, FOR THE PEOPLE TO REPENT AND BELIEVE THIS GOSPEL" remember they was sent to the Jews only, and all the Jews knew what it mean to repent and if they knew the Old Testament scriptures they knew what it mean when someone was saying the Kingdom of God is at hand, or has come.... that is why people came to John the Baptist, He preached the same thing and many repented and was baptized through his preaching of the Kingdom of God.... If it was something no one knew about already, why would they even listen to John the baptist.

They were NOT Preaching the death, burial and resurrection...... All Jesus taught and went about preaching was the Gospel of the Kingdom, and told His disciples what was to happen to Him and why......... And after Jesus' death, burial, resurrection, and ascending to the right hand of the Father God........ they started preaching that as well as the kingdom of God.....

When Jesus spoke he was either telling them in parables, " The Kingdom of God is like unto...." "What can be liken unto the Kingdom of God" you will see He only talked about His death to His disciple, and they could not even handle hear it, let alone preach it yet..... but all the Gospels where written years after Christ went to sit at the Right Hand of the Father God....... Start with Luke chpt. 10....
