We all ache with anticipation . . . but is this in the flesh or are we spiritually aching? . . .
well I had a brain wave 😋

And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit;

Seems Jesus was walking on water in spiritual form

I wonder why it's assumed Peter walked on water in fleshly form 😀

Because He's such a Wonder?
(sorry, been in a silly mood of late)

well another idea is he also the bread that exists in all life.

As in the bread of his life is also his life in all life

As in he created life from his life in the beginning.

5 Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.

It says I am the bread of life, fullstop.

I always assumed that when the disciples said "it is a spirit" that they were wrong: this was just their first perception because they were not used to seeing people in the flesh walk on water.

well I had another brain wave, no one has ever walked on water even with great faith in fleshly form

It must be Peter walked on water in spiritual form.

But how did he not know he was there in spirit or any of the other disciples not know they where there in spiritual form

Or how could he walk on water in spiritual form

Is it because the bread of life lives in all people who are yet to be saved

well I guess you could assume this if you never been out of the body.

If you see someone walking on water you would think it was a ghost.

But no they where never aware truly that it was Jesus in spiritual form...

And they where not aware that they themselves where there in spiritual form 🙂

I think if you look at it another way, something in the disciples knew it was Jesus in spiritual form as they may have seen a tell tale sign, as to why they said its a spirit, 🙂

But they where all dumb struck

Also the reason why Peter sank is quite possibly he was also like Thomas, he never truly believed in the unseen

Peter was in the flesh when he walked onwater. The lesson in this story is to not take your eyes off Jesus or we "sink".
Yes, that subject came up in Bible Study...for a brief moment Peter was "all in" with Jesus, he was one with the Lord, but as he is human as we all are, he could only be 'one with Christ' for a limited time because the 'cares of the world' came over him, as they do all of us.

Yes, the apostles THOUGHT it was a spirit....they had no clue, but Jesus did walk on water, one foot in front of the other, not in spiritual, but physically walking or it would not be a miracle. If it was in spirit form, it would be an apparition.

Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”

Was it in fleshly form or spiritual form 😋

Fleshly.....if it was spirit, it would not be a miracle..it would be a ghost (spirit). Be careful not to take away from the gospel...HE walked, Jesus actually walked on water.

Ok....so WHY did he do it?
To demonstrate HIS deity to the apostles and how HE had conquered the world and its dimensions and physical laws meant nothing to HIM as HE created the Universe with one breath.

HE was showing a small example of what was in store for HIS kingdom and those who followed HIM.

I wonder what would have flipped out the Disciples the most, walking to them on water or if He flew to them and hovered over them?

As I say to people, when they ask why I am so relaxed and don't seem to worry about much......

My Father owns the Universe, why should I worry? If I am backsliding and not following the Holy Spirit, then the worry returns, when I am walking right, the worry disappears. We are all wretched sinners and I am right there with the elites of the wretched.....I sin less but am not sinless. Even Billy Graham proclaims himself a sinner at every sermon --- Stanley, Adrian Rogers, David Jeremiah....they all profess their imperfections.
