Here is the discription of creation of the waters and how they were seperated, Genesis 1:6-10

9 And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.10 God called the dry land Earth, and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.”
If you read the footnotes in the ESV the word expanse can be translated canopy, we before the flood you had a greenhouse effect with the waters in verse 7 there were two layers of water in the heavens and one on the earth and when we go to chapter 7 we will see that there was water under the earth as well, let's look at chapter 7 and 8.
7:11-12 “In the six hundredth year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the seventeenth day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened.12 And rain fell upon the earth forty days and forty nights.”
So we see that the water came from the fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven opened up, chapter 8:2
“The fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained,”
There was a definate change in the atmophere and it changed the vegitation, because for the first time the Lord tell man to eat meat. The Lord had a system that a mist watered the vegitation Genesis 2:5-6 “When no bush of the field was yet in the land and no small plant of the field had yet sprung up—for the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the land, and there was no man to work the ground,6 and a mist was going up from the land and was watering the whole face of the ground”
The vegitation had of had complete protiens in them do to the canopy of water in the heavens or the greenhouse effect, Genesis 9:1-5 “And God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth.2 The fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth and upon every bird of the heavens, upon everything that creeps on the ground and all the fish of the sea. Into your hand they are delivered.3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. And as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.4 But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.5 And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.”
Notice verse 3, the Lord is giving them every moving thing for food now, like He did the green plants. These green plants had the protiens in them to sustain man and beast alike. If you look at the root structure of a tyrannosaurus rex and the root structure of our meat eat teeth, there is no way they could of ripped meat off the bones of died animals. They have herbivores not meat eaters and they could not use their arms to tear the meat off by bitting a pull with their arms because they were to short. The idea that T-Rex was a meat eater is the lie of the evolutionist.
The dinos did not live because those hugh herbivores could not eat meat because their teeth would not handle it, so they dies off because the green plants did not have the complete protiens that were needed to stay alive. As far as them being in the Ark, there is nothing about the beasts being fully grown, nor is there mention of the Lord not causing them to hibernte while they were in the Ark or they could of brought the eggs of the larger beasts, there are a number of ways that the Lord could set it up to where all the beast of the earth were on the Ark. As mentioned you only needed two dogs and you have from wolf to chihuahua and every other type of animal that come form the same spieces. Believe me Genesis man was very smart, think about it Adam named every animal, creeping thing, fish, sea monsters everything that lived and from Adam to the tower of Babel there was only one language, no informtion lose do to mistranslation.
Think about what the Lord is saying in Genesis 11:6 “And the Lord said, “Behold, they are one people, and they have all one language, and this is only the beginning of what they will do. And nothing that they propose to do will now be impossible for them.”
Here is something to think about, did Genesis man conquor space? Look at what man was doing less then 600 years ago, the Aztecs and Inca were building pyramids with precision cut stone and lifting 5 to 20 tons or more stones into place. Just look at the wailing wall in Jerusalem. With what we think is modern technology, the engineers today cannot figure out how they made the pyramids. Genesis man is much smarter then we give them credit for, the Lord said of them that nothing they propose to do will now be impossible for them.
Sorry this is how my mind works, I look by at history and see how smart Adam was and what the Lord said in Genesis 11:6. Man has always wanted to reach out into the heavens. Think about how much information can be past on with one language add to that man living over 900 years, how much information can be discovered and past on?
