1John 2:1-6, in verse one we see And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: There is the word IF, meaning we don' have to sin.
1Jn 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. How did Jesus Walk?
1Jn_4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

When did out sinful nature become greater then the power of God? I have seen many post that say we are in the sinful body yet we claim God as all powerful. Can't a all powerful God who gave us his own Spirit keep you from falling?

Eph_3:20 Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,
Jud_1:24 Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
Rom_8:11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Gal_5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal_5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Who would EVER thought I would LIKE something Iwant2serve types? Well this just show us what the Truth can do for a man... I remember one more thing the Holy Spirit does.

Iwant, praise the Lord for showing you the TRUTH!

God gave us this to believe.... Luke 22... Pray that ye enter NOT into temptation... Wonder who can KEEP temptation AWAY from me when I am weak? Only God can... HE CAN AND DO but look for WHOM HE does it..... 2 Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

I notice.... The ones that hungers and thirst for righteousness, are the ones that discover "sinless perfection" in God, In His Word, and the ones that does not believe to the same extend, do not find this gift of God...

I just ask, why? Why would ANY person fight for sin in the flesh? Can God save even the mortal body, OUT OF SIN.. Yes He can and does!

The thing about the teaching of being sinless, is that to become sinless we must repent and never sin again. the thing with grace is some take advantage of it and do whatever they please saying it's okay i am covered by grace. we have to find a balance here. in truth we can never completely stop sinning as long as this flesh is attached to these bones, but we sure can tryLOL. but we musn't condemn ourselves when we mess up. The thing i don't like about never sinning again teaching is that it sounds so hard and stern. that's not the god i know, his yoke is light. He only looks at us with loving eyes, not a fiery condemning eyes(Yikes)
The key you said it not totake advantage of it ever and God knows who these are and who are not. I myself will just keepsaying after being born again in all assuredness we are forgiven and our reaction to doing righteousness as all righteousness is God's not ours we are just partakers in his righteousness and thus born again today by the Spirit of God and are counted righteous, (sinless) from God's perspective and noone seems to get this,. whether we sin or we do not sin
if we take advantage of this amazing grace how shall anyone escape
Hebrews 2:3how shall we escape if we ignore so great a salvation? This salvation, which was first announced by the Lord, was confirmed to us by those who heard him.
By belief one walks in the newness of life, why do we not stay there, because we are not freed from sin unless we be dead to it and therefore by the cross we are dead to sin by the death.
We all are called to beleive this are do we diregard Romans 6 especially 6:11 where Paul says to beleive it that we are dead to sin and alive to God. Why are we rigding the fence wavering back and forth like a wave in the sea. This should not be. Talkiing out of two sides of our mouths, blessings and then cursings
Do you think that God suffered the cross as nuch as God did just so we can take advantage of it and use it for an excuse to sin GOD forbid Brothers and Sisters in Christ, and I aminly speak to me to learn to walk in the new life God gave me and learn to stay right there in the new life, praisiong and worshipping God for what he has done for me and all who will believe. No where else do I ever want to be except found in the Spirit of God, and learning this day by day
Thanks you all for listening to me and where I want to be in the Spirit at alltimes and only God can do thois and I will trust god to go this as Gos sees fit, and I believe God sees fit for us all to seek to do this, otherwise why would he have gone to such great lengths to save us, unlees by Faith in him we do turn from our sins even though we are forgiven
But I tell you truth unless are righteousness is:
Matthew 5:20For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.

And the only way I found for this to be is ask God and trust God to show you and God will show each of us this and we will respond in thankfulness by the cross and forsake our sins and walk in the newness of life and one will not fulfill the desires of the flesh
Galatians 5:13[ Life by the Spirit ] You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

You have no doubt heard the expression, "Let go and Let God."

You, like as most of us, have probably experienced struggling with something (especially when we were children) while someone stood near by trying to tell you that there was an easier way.

And so it is likely that you can look back on that experience and remember how when you finally ceased struggling and listened to them you were amazed at how easy it became to do what beforehand you were struggling to do.

Ponder how the following relates: Luke 6:25a "Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger...."

Our first and foremost important task is to get over thinking we know.

But there is a paradox there while we have not gotten over ourselves which is caused of our tendency to judge others.

And so when one comes along who has emptied their self of their self and thus were able to be refilled by the spirit of God, we judge that he or she must not know what they are talking about and that their confidence that they do know is only really proof that they have not gotten over themselves.

My, my, my, what a dilemma. Not a wonder Jesus told us to suspend judgment. Just look how we blind ourselves due to not yet being qualified to judge.

How does ceasing that struggle work?

It works the same way it did in that past experience we recalled. It enabled us to listen so that we could learn.

The leading of the holy spirit is stifled when we are full of our own voice and opinion. We cannot hear it's gentle whisper because we are to busy listening to the voice of our own beliefs.
Thank You you hit the nail on the head and it is driven in deep and yet via the cross is where all these trerasures are at in Christ and God does remove ones filthy rags by belief. Though if one gets proud and or boastful in and ofthemselves then expect a messenger of Satan to come along and buffet, me, you and or you, in order for us to be humbled as Paul learnt whe Paul asked three times for whatever it was to go away
I learnt to glory in my iniquities for I need God and by glorying in them the reverse happens, we are thus set free, because for once we are not trying to stop, and God is, guess who wins? 2 cor 12

it is not impossible by the cross first the deathour death we are freed from the penalty of Sin and then by the resurrection at the cross of christ we are to born again raised alive in the Spirit of God and walk in that at all times forsaking the flesh daily by dieing to the flesh daily, thus being alive daily in the Spirit of God. This is how God made it all possible by the cross of his Son our Lord, which the way, the truth and the life to God the Father.

ok, I was responding to someone else who claimed another person said something they didn't say. I wasn't asking a theological question, I was asking where this person said this statement that this other person claimed they did.

You stop when you die.
therefore CDavid by the cross see that we are to here and now today Brother
Romans 6:11In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
Romans 6:1[ Dead to Sin, Alive in Christ ] What shall we say, then? Shall we go on sinning so that grace may increase?
Romans 6:3Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?
James 4:4You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.
1 Corinthians 3:16Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?

we are called to beleive in Christ and bt Christ the resurrection we are to forsake sin even as we are by Christ made pure through the resurrected Christ
1 John 3:3All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure.

By Christ one by beleif has been made pure thereofre we react with thank you and show God's purity through us and not of self ever

i don't do eloquent waxing over scripture.
not sure why you redirected me here from the other thread.
i like poetry and all, but ...you know.

the Holy Spirit is He, not IT.
k....thx
I will speak bluntly because your attitude calls for it.

You counseled me and so I directed you to a post that shows I grasp exactly what you counseled me.

And I am very glad I made that innocent refference, thinking it would show you that I agree with the spirit of what you said.

Unfortunately, you evidently are filled by jugment and haughtiness which only sees things as dark.

May God's love penetrate that thick pride that is plaguing you. Amen

Don't be ridiculous. Because we are human we all sin. This is part of our nature.

1 John 1:8

If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

The only way to stop sin in our lives is to stop living.
This is why we must live each day in repentance.
We all need to confess, and repent from sin daily, asking God to forgive us.

Paul said "I die daily"
He died to his sinful nature every day through repentance and prayer.

If we was to be perfect, wouldn't we already have a glorified body?

***pinches self****

nothing glorious here. LOL

If you believe by Christ at the cross you are dead to flesh by the death then youare freed from sin
Romans 7:4-6
[SUP]4 [/SUP]So, my brothers and sisters, you also died to the law through the body of Christ, that you might belong to another, to him who was raised from the dead, in order that we might bear fruit for God. [SUP]5 [/SUP]For when we were in the realm of the flesh, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in us, so that we bore fruit for death. [SUP]6 [/SUP]But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

Don't use our imperfections to justify your will to keep sinning, sure 1John 1:8 says that, but read a little further in chapter 2 verse 1,

My little children these things i write unto you that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:

Now why on earth did Jesus heal people and tell them to sin not, when all they can do is sin?

to me that verse 8 is saying those who say they have no sin, in have never sinned, not that we can not, not sin.
