Under the new covenant I want to know how to be a SON and a sheep of His pasture. Jesus already laid Himself down for His sheep and the sheep's work is to rest and follow. When we follow by faith., Jesus will work. He will live His life through me when I trust and believe what He says and did. To walk by faith means thinking by faith., listening by faith., seeing by faith. (not by sight) Finding out about Jesus and allowing Him to live His life through me.

We lay down our ideas (our reality) of seeing by sight and instead we see (His reality) by faith. We will not lose our lives this way., we will find life this way.

(repenting) is putting my ways of thinking and being aside. Then taking His ways instead.., by believing and then being conformed into His image by faith in Him and His finished work.

It is by the obedience of faith. I cannot be changed on the outside until I see Him by faith on the inside.

[TD="colspan: 3, align: left"]When Jesus was on the cross, He did more than just die for your sins. His one sacrifice did not just remove your sins, but it also clothed you in His righteousness and perfection. Jesus became the true “burnt sacrifice”.

In the Old Testament, whenever someone offered a burnt sacrifice, the perfection of the animal came on him. In the same way, every perfect attribute of Jesus your “burnt sacrifice” comes on you when you take Him as your Savior. And because God sees you clothed with Christ, you have the same acceptance and favor with Him that Jesus has!

When Jesus was offered on the cross, the fire of God brought out His perfections like perfume to God. In that one sacrifice, Jesus’ obedience and perfections rose as “a sweet aroma to the Lord”, which is what is emitted when the offering is burnt. This “sweet aroma” speaks of a savor of rest to God. Jesus’ perfect sacrifice gave God so much satisfaction that He rested.

You can also rest in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus, knowing that what He did, He did for you—“Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma”. (Ephesians 5:2) You can rest knowing that God the Father is satisfied with you because His Son’s sacrifice has caused His heart to rest with regard to you. You can rest because Jesus is God’s satisfaction for you.

Today, as you come before God, say, “Father, I thank You that Jesus is such a delight and joy to You. He satisfies Your heart completely. And what He did, He did for me. Because Jesus so satisfies You, I know that You are satisfied with me. Because Jesus is Your delight, I am also Your delight.

Because Jesus so pleases You, I know I please You too. And because Jesus is my righteousness and perfection, I stand righteous and perfect before You.”

Beloved, when you speak of Christ and His finished work, it goes up to God as a sweet-smelling aroma, a savor of rest. And if God can rest in the perfect sacrifice of His Son, you can too!

Guys, rest is found in Jesus, yep, rest from sin and death, IT DOES NOT MEAN you are not accountable, it does not mean you do not have a job in the Lord. we are saved by Grace FOR THE VERY PURPOSE of the good works prepared for us to do. there is no one ever who is speaking by the spirit of God that will ever say to anyone, that following Jesus is not the essential doctrine of God. following Him, doing what He says just because you see a scripture saved by faith doesn't nullify the nmany many many scriptures fvrom beginning to end that tell us plainly "do what is right." we walk by faith, but we walk. we are forgiven and restored by grace, but there is in fact WORK in Jesus. we are told plainly clearly if you do this you will live, if you do this you will die. anything that makes sin less deadly, or righteousness less important isn't a design of God. Grace is only to make us new, clean. and then for eternity we stand in it. but when God makes you new, you are now neww. for the purpose of work. in God for the kingdom. the op is Jesus words, if u cant accept His words why is he called your lord? Jesus is right, if anyone would be His disciple he must deny himself ( His selfishness, sin) and take up His cross and FOLLOW. Do not merely listen to the word, DO what it says to do." yeah it says believe. the thing that confuses is that true belief is Abrahams vbelief. He knew God was good so He did what He was told to do. that's our covenant of faith. Abraham. not the faith of just knowing Jesus is Gods son. that's known believe me, knowing it and doing it is the gospel. gotta do whats right guys, give Him all the glory, but if you will look at the word you will see do what is right. plain

It is by the obedience of faith. I cannot be changed on the outside until I see Him by faith on the inside. We love Him ONLY because He first loved us. Apart from Him we can do and be nothing. Even as a believer if things are done apart from faith in Him; it is nothing. It is putting your ladder up against a building and finding years later, your ladder when you get to the top, was against the wrong building.

I agree, now what does Jesus say Loving Him is? he says it 3 times in john 14-15 tell me our obedience to Jesus commands isn't what matters? you guys again are missing what I'm saying. yes Gods atonement made us new, forgave us, gave us life all the word says it does it does. now, when you are able to say I'm righteous, you will look and say I'm following Jesus words. woithout setting it in our mind that we are supposed to do the word. well always be saying, I'm saved by grace I don't have to do anything. it breeds complacency. activate the righteousness by faith. do the word of God, grace has already made you able is what you guys are saying I agree. Now where is our faith found? in the action, in the evidence. do what God says to do. its simple really

Hebrews 4:3 (NASB)

[SUP]3 [/SUP] For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST,"
although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Hebrews 4:10 (NASB)

[SUP]10 [/SUP] For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.

Resting in the finished work of Christ is our warfare.

Resting in the finished work of Christ is our obedience.

Resting in the finished work of Christ is our faith in action.

Resting in the finished work of Christ is not a lazy, passive existence where we do nothing.

When we know that God has already provided everything we need through Christ - we access His wisdom, provision, strength and protection by faith. We'll be governed by the Holy Spirit in a highly strategic and active lifestyle of doing good works.

Resting in the finished work of Christ is not an inactive lifestyle. It's a Spirit- led lifestyle where we flow in the good works that God has planned for us all along.

These good works originate from the life of Christ inside of us and flow out to bring life and grace to a hurt and dying world as well as to our brethren.

If we have left all and followed Him what shall we have therefore? Let's take a read what Jesus say on this way,KJV.Matthew19;27-30,27. Then answered Peter and said unto Him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall have therefore? 28.And Jesus said unto them,Verily I say unto you,That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of His glory,ye also sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29.And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name's sake, shall receive on hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.30.But many that are first shall be last; and the last shall be first.;

without saying I agree or disagree on anything...cause I feel 500 hundred years old in the BDF sometimes...

we can draw as close as we want...and there is no end...we can be what we want to be in Christ

and probably remember that God has made an awful big variety of personalities and their ability or even desire to follow, respond or whatever

yup...we have 66 books...but somebody tell me how much that brings everyone into agreement?

Jesus NEVER said doctrine would make us one...He does that

Jesus does that

Jesus

and ps: remember all the parts of the body?

maybe too many heads running around? without any legs? LOL!

ROARINGKITTEN.....I LOVE YOUR NEW AVATAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AWESOME!!!!!

lol look at the op, read the comments. listen. if someone says, follow Jesus, and someone else says its all grace, all grace we do nothing....its deadly to the spirit, sorry, just the truth. Follow Jesus. I'm saying set your heart TO follow Jesus. grace is awesome only way we can receive Jesus new life, now this op. is about discipleship is it not? disciples are set on following. thanking God for Grace and the name of Jesus. But if we don't do, its a deception. grace brings us to this knowledge eventually. I understand the all by grace teaching out there. its too world friendly. its incomplete. I'm saved by grace the end. Nope. false sorry following Jesus is every single Christians goal. christians = followers of Jesus Christ. grace is a gift of God, discipleship is following Jesus. again look to the op. discipleship. saved by grace, the power of Gods atonement to make us new ect...different subjects. follow the Lord friend. call it grace, effort whatever you wish to call it. the most important verse in the word of God " do not merely listen to the word and deceive yourselves....Do what it says to do." I'm not looking to debate grace, discipleship. following. why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not do what I say? it is not the one who says to me lord lord who will be saved, only he who DOES the will of my Father" ok? discipleship = doing. Gods grace is to give new life to sinners, and sustain them in righteousness, I understand. wrong subject

ade me feel

beautiful thanx :) My point was kinda that the op is about discipleship. this stupid grace v works debate ruins everything..... grace leads to works. gives us the ability to do what we are supposed to it IS NOT A FREE PASS to have what Jesus gave his life for. silly debates man opinions..understanding Grace is to be filled with joy to hear " obey the Lord"

actually I was talking discipleship idk why grace and works is every discussion. the op was discipleship is to follow...Jesus words. every subject is grace v works. this hyper grace no need to follow or do is herecy, it brings the Lords suffering Low, and they say it exalts him. Yes He gets all credit, like you said, its ALL Jesus. but in a Christian forum were supposed to believe and so have Jesus already, or be coming here to learn or seek. so if I'm in Christ, why do I need to always answer anyone who says do the word, with we don't do anything? I just really understand that its like satan in the garden. God says one thing, He twists it and makes it another. obedience to Christ is not debatable. its not a magic trick, we learn, come near grow in ect as we learn to follow. the grace is sinners bound to death, made righteous in Christ bound to eternal life. we are accountable for evey thing we say and do, and have work. its just the word of God. we all have the same Goal to lay down our lives for the one who laid down His life. that's what the word actually says when you take the bits here and there that seem to contradict and they make a message that's perfectly clear. The word is one message, Follow Jesus and Live...all else is detail and design all vital information every singal word, but like you said its all Jesus. we follow His ways.

for the 10th time LOOK AT THE OP. its about discipleship. man this place is aggravating for a Christian chat room you all caught me on the wrong day, like usual theres 99 different subjects and no one even looks at the op before they start the grace speil........im gonna do like always and return to the blog, you all are impossible to not argue with. ive tried several times. when you see do what the word says......theres noi need to start shouting grace grace that's my point. if you tell a young chriatian all by grace, they get the idea that obedience is not for us to do...especially when this crazy new grace thing came out. you all are being led astray. grace is mistaught and notice that it sells massively? and everyone says oh yeah heaven for free???? listen. Grace is true and wonderful. but the TRUTH of Gods word, is to do what it says. if anyone will do what God says, no matter how much opinion they have of grace or works....if they'll just see the simple salvation to accept Jesus, and follow Him.........those people cannot fail to receive every promise from God. that's all fact. if I spend my time arguing theres no time to actually share anything of worth with the people who aren't too "wise" to learn. ridiculous. hope you all grow in the knowledge of God, but your structure is making it very difficult for myself. I have no interest in arguing again, God Loves you all, Peace and forgiveness. I'm done.

Jason this foolishness about grace not doing anything or following Christ or not being obedient to Christ is completely false as you are continually accusing people of in this thread. No one says not to follow Christ. This is completely false and mis-representing what is being said. Numerous people have told you that so you should know by now what is really being said here.

If you need to read it again - go to post #24 ....and there are other posts in this thread that speak the truth as well. Please read them and stop this mis-representing of the true gospel of the grace of Christ.

We all agree that we follow and obey Christ in our lives so please stop this slander against believers in the grace of Christ. No one is saying what you are accusing people of.

I know you know better then this. Did someone do something to you? Is everything ok at home and in your family? Can we pray with you about anything?

2 Peter 3:18 (NASB)
[SUP]18 [/SUP] but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
